I have been with this bank for many years, and it was GREAT when it was Wachovia...not so much since Wells Fargo took over. Generally have a long wait any time I have to go in. I complained that even though I was adding money to my savings account every month, my interest earned kept going DOWN! They called (I assume the home office) and I was told they keep reducing the rate. So they offered their PMA account which would double my interest, but had to have something like $15,000 min balance, so instead of earning $.05 per month, I could earn $.10...don't think so.

My Wells Fargo Coronado Bank has been a fabulous help to me in lots of ways through the years 2000-2013. I will really miss my personal banker who just retired. Mavis Cain-Benton, who watched over my account like a mother hen, phoned me if I was nearly overdrawn; she let me know if there were lower mortgage rates than I had; she helped me access a home equity loan when I needed funds. The list of services goes on and on.
The bank in Coronado is always clean and even serves hot chocolate and coffee. There was always chocolate candies in Mavis's office. There was never a long wait to see a cashier or bank manager. I really hope that Wells Fargo finds a new manager and personal banker for me who is as competent, professional and friendly as Mavis.

One of Wells Fargos customers scammed me out of $700 with a vacation condo scheme. The bank did not release the money to the customer, but they will not give my money back to me. They are just keeping the money! The people there are very rude and they will not speak to me because I am not a Wells Fargo customer. All they will say is I cannot have my money back but they will not say why.

I went into this Bank over one month ago and applied + paid for a Business secured Credit Card. I still have not received it and have no idea if I will ever receive it even though it's already been prepaid for.
It would take me ten paragraphs to explain the entire silly Micky Mouse story, so to make a long story short nobody that works at this Bank knows how to do their job, gives a damn about doing their job or knows how to communicate with their head office in order to get anything accomplished.
The Manager of Colonial Park store [Mike]doesn't return calls, the Manager of Union deposit store [Guy] doesn't return calls and obviously when you have Managers that don't care they in turn have Employees that don't care.
I honestly think that Manager training for this bank must consist of telling them "Just smile, pretend like you know what you're doing and avoid all contact with Customers. If you can't avoid contact with a Customer brush them off onto another Employee and this way you can never be blamed for doing anything wrong and/or giving wrong info. due to the fact that you never do anything?!!! Come into the bank around 11am, sneak out around 3pm and try to take very long lunches! This will again make you very inaccessible and not responsible for anything! You can just blame all mistakes on your Employees as they will pretty much just be left to fumble their way through things in total darkness!!! " Wells Fargo Moto "WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE ARE DOING"

Besides a couple of their employees that have been sincerely nice tome whenever I see them, there were two incidents that made me question their overall customer service quality.
This happened awhile ago. Somehow the year I was born was incorrect (after years of it being the right date) and a teller noticed it didn't match my license DOB. At that time I had a paper license as I was waiting for mine in the mail. He said they couldn't change it without my actual license card. He did ask for help from a higher person. What bothered me the most from the guy and the lady that helped him was that I could tell they assumes I was a fraud by the way they looked at me. Their computer showed I was 27 years old, I dont even look like Im 21! A few weeks later I happen to be sitting at one of the desks with a lady and she noticed the same DOB error. I mentioned what happened at the teller and she told me I could use my passport to correct my DOB. And next time I went in I looked for her and I did just that.
More recently.. I went in with my newborn carrying just her carseat in with me. I felt it wasn't necessary to take out the stroller for a quick stop to deposit some money. The teller was friendly. She asked about my daughter and my experience with motherhood as this is my first child. As I was leaving, two ladies stood next to eachother talking and leaning against the cubicle walls by the line entrance. I looked at them as I walked toward the door and said bye. They stopped their conversation for a second to say bye back and continued talking to eachother. All other times I went in while I was pregnant, if there was someone standing the door area, they kindly opened the door to let me out. It would have been nice for one of those two ladies to have opened the door for me. I mean I had no trouble doing it myself but if I saw a lady carrying her baby in a car seat and the doors didn't open automatically, I would have been waiting to hold the door open as she made her way out. It's the little things that count when it comes to customer service.

I have been so impressed with the staff at this location. Tonya, I thank you so much for being so helpful and answering all my questions. Lori, you have helped me from day one and have gone above and beyond to help me. I am one of those people that know how to work and make money but not to good at "banking". Extremely poor customer service, apathetic and very slow overall service. I closed the account today because the way a service fee was handled. I have always kept the minimum balance required and all of a sudden, it is now $2,000 and they would not waive. This is not my primary bank account and was only opened for convenience purposes for some personal transactions. I received no notification of such change and the customer rep said it has been in place for years. Nowhere have I seen a service charge before in regards to this in previous statements. Look elsewhere for your banking needs, whether business or personal.
As well, as I was walking out, I heard the manager talk behind my back whispering to another employee. Seriously, dude? Go slick your hair back further to show your big forehead to the world.

I deposited over $300,000 a few months ago and was told at the time that they would easily look at a mortgage.
I told them this week I wanted to buy a company locally, would be using different cash for that and wanted to look at a mortgage. Mortgage broker looked at me with distain and told me I would have to wait 2 years to build up a credit profile and maybe he would do it them. I told him I was looking at mortgage based on what I was told at the time of opening the deposit. He said that must have been a rouse to get the deposit account opened but his position stood.
I don't really need a mortgage as I have just sold a business in Australia for $8million. Wells fargo will not be seeing my money or business in the future.
No wonder they gat the lowest ratings in customer satisfaction.

Normally, I wouldn't think to put up a bank branch review, but I Googled my branch (Louetta/Grant) to get the phone number today and saw some very unhappy reviews. I know people are more likely to review when they're angry so I thought it only fair to report my experiences at the branch.
My accounts are all personal, not business, and I don't need to do anything exotic, so maybe that makes a difference.
Two years ago, I opened a CD and another account with Peter. My husband and I also went in on another occasion to open a an account and Peter helped us. On both occasions he was extremely nice, helpful, and explained our options patiently. He always has a smile on his face and remembers us when he sees us.
A couple of weeks ago, we opened an account for my step-son with Brittany, since Peter was busy with a customer. She was tons of fun. Great attitude. Laughed at all our jokes--that's the most important thing. Couldn't have been nicer.
Today, I realized my CD had matured and it would automatically renew if I didn't transfer the money during the grace period. I called the branch and talked to Brittany. She told me I needed to come in. I asked if it was busy right then since I'm 5 minutes from the bank. She said it wasn't and she was stepping out, but she'd make sure another banker had it ready for me. I admit I was a bit skeptical about whether anyone would really be "ready for me," since there's so much incompetence and disinterest in business's customer service nowadays.
When I walked in, a banker heard me tell the teller I'd talked to Brittany. He called me by name and said he had things ready for me. His name was Cory. He seemed very glad to help and when I told him I get migraines in florescent light, he made an effort to get things done quickly. He looked at ID, had me sign something he had ready, then had to go to the back for a couple of minutes.
While he was gone, Peter finished with a customer and came over to chat. He remembered that I'm a writer and my husband's a software consultant. He asked if I had more books coming out, if my husband still had to travel a lot, how my daughter was, etc. This is information he learned a year or two ago.
So, bottom line, the only 3 bankers I've worked with and the people behind the counter have always been very nice and helpful at this branch. Between my accounts, my daughters and my husband's, we have about a dozen accounts and no bad experiences to report there.
I have not had any cause to deal with managers or other bankers besides the ones mentioned in this review.

After dealing with JAson for weeks to close accounts with fees, I still have 2 accounts that have not been closed. Now I have a negative balance because the fees hit after he was supposed to close the account. He did close an account. The main one. Nice. Waiting on hold for an hour to be told he is with a customer. Good luck to that customer. My direct deposit will now be deposited into the abyss.

I closed all but one of my WF accounts a few years ago due to their ineptness but kept one free checking account to deposit small checks (my main bank is 7 miles away). I finally closed this account last week because they were going to start charging a monthly fee unless I kept a minimum balance. My place of work issues petty cash checks payable to me (on a WF account but in a different town) and up until last week I was always able to go in and cash this check through my personal account. I went to cash a $59 check earlier this week and was told I now needed id as I didn't have an account which was fair enough. I came back, grabbed my id and headed back up to see the manager and the first employee I had talked to heading out the door. I was told by another cashier that the manager had to sign off on the check and I would have to wait for her. Ten minutes later they came back and were doing whatever behind the counter; I asked how much longer as I had to get back to work and the manager told me it would be a few minutes yet, there were other people in front of me, and "I have an appointment at 10am". I left. Today after calming down a bit I went back with my check and id. When I walked in and saw the manager at a desk with 2 people waiting I knew it was bad news. The checker (a new one I'd never seen before) told me she needed the manager to sign off on the check and I would need a second form of id. I told her I was told just 2 days ago that I only needed one form of id and she said no, she needed two. So I left again. No wonder Wells Fargo is losing as much business as they are. I am going to deposit the check into my regular account and will get cash back. Bunch of idiots.

Husband and employer went to cash check for $8000 with employer present and bank manager was rude and obstructive. There was no excuse for the way both the account holder and my husband were treated. There was no problem with IDs and the check was good. The bank manager seemed to go out of his way to discourage a small business from using this bank. Employer is probably going to close his account.
And while all of this was going on, during the long wait, my husband spoke with two other bank customers there to close their accounts because of incompetence and rudeness.

My German friend wanted to change 100 euros to dollars. After telling her, no problem, we can help you and letting her show her ID and credit card, they told her that she needed an account with them. I had the same problem recently when I wanted to cash a Wells Fargo check a customer had given me.
Even if this is not the fault of the employees, they could ask up front, do you have an account with us because we can only help you if you do - instead of wasting our time with promises they can't keep.
This is really bad service, especially since my bank in Northfield does not have these restrictions which tells me that it can be different.
