PNC Bank Crescent Springs, KY refused to notarise my documents

I was told that PNC Bank Manager at this location that PNC does not notarise any documents pertaining to property transfer etc. I reminded the bank manager that he had notarised the same letters a month ago and this time i needed a similar set of letters notarised for a different government office. He just said that he had erred in the past and should not have signed.
It looks like they are not very forthcoming and consistent with their policy.
A Bank survives for the little things, not the things that every other bank offers.
I am slowly looking at moving our accounts somewhere else.

I have been with PNC, now the owner of what Fort Wayne National Bank for 53 years and have always found the tellers, bankers, trust officers with whom we worked for many years, and the general staff very accommodating and knowledgeable. I have formed personal friendships with some of the employees.  Although a resident of Northbrook (Chicago suburb) now, will continue to bank with PNC.

A notary is not required to notarize anything they don't want to. It's not a service the bank provides. It is a service the notary provides. It is a convenience for the bank to employee someone that is a notary. Notaries have their own set of rules/laws that must be followed. If a notary doesn't want to notarize something and you were to contact the company and go to HR, all the notary would have to say is that they didn't want to do it because they weren't comfortable and that ends that right there.

Even though a notary might not be required legally to notarize some documents, still they work out of the bank and NOT out of their apartment.  Therefore they have to abide by the bank rules.

The notary is legally liable for anything they notarize.  They are not required to just notarize anything because they work for a bank and typically banks will only notarize documents that are needed for banking purposes.

I called the 96th St, Fishers location and asked about having a document notarized.  I was told that they would notarize my document as long as I was a PNC customer and that I would not incurr a fee for this service.  So I made a visit to the the 96th Street, Fishers location and was told by a teller that they could not notarize any documents that were not PNC related. The teller was in the process of running the drive thru at the same time of waiting on me.  My presence seem to annoy her. I left this location and went two blocks to find a Chase bank.  I am not a customer of Chase bank but thought I would go in and ask them if they could notarize my document. Needless to say, they not only notarize my document but didn't charge me a fee AND provided me with top notch customer service.  I decided to go back to PNC and tell them about my experience.  I ended up speaking with the branch manager - Wen.  He gave me the impression that he could have cared less.  Their policy is not to notorize documents unrelated to PNC as they do not want to be held liable for the contents of the document.  Clearly, they are not aware of what a notary is used for.  They are validating that person in front of them signed the document.  The contents of the document has NOTHING to do with the notary. This has been the worst customer service I've ever experienced.  I am in the process of moving my account to Chase.

Same thing happened to us:  husband called PNC (we are customers and it was a matter of convenience to go there rather than drive miles to the attorney's  office) to determine whether they could notarize a limited POA in order for our real estate attorney to sign documents in our absence.  The customer rep informed my husband that PNC could notarize that document.  When I arrived, was told they only provide notary services for in-house documents.  When I spoke with the bank manager, all she wanted to do was discuss her 30 years in banking.  I've spoken with rep's from the Secretary of State and the DuPage County Clerks office and 'technically' as a public servant, a notary cannot limit notary services.  If a bank is going to set limits on what they will/will not notarize, I believe it must be stated up front (i.e.during a phone call); the fact that they don't suggests they know it is unlawful to do so. Deceptive to say the least.

The staff at the bank are always super courteous and helpful. I have found PNC as a whole to be very helpful.  Recently had our credit card skimmed while on vacation.  They were very helpful in handling the situation. They investigated the event and returned the money to my account.  So glad they recommended us using a credit card instead of our regular bank card as this would have given the thieves direct access to our bank account.

I absolutely
that PNC has sending customers service calls offshore. They have absolutely so idea of what they are doing.they repeat the same thing over and over. Place you on hold. 3 to 5 minutes.  Then come with an answer that has nothing to do with the question you asked. Then back on hold you go. I asked to be trained an onshore call center. The girl said twice huh. Becay I asked twice.  The. Very slow I asked to be trai to a call cry in the United States.there was absolutely no way what so ever I was going to allow her to order me checks!! After all that.tbey don't understand ewhat they are dot or are they trained or under English.. I know I sound like an horrible pery . BUt they are play with peoples a accounts I have two others busy that I do busy with that are offshore. I never had issues like this. It's not the first time. One on the other business is a my credit card e and one my health care

Never had an issue banking here.
Staff is pleasant and professional, not sure why everyone rating it so low.
I am a winter texan and staff has been very helpful from the time they were bbva to pnc.

Inept and so slooooow.  Already have accounts at this bank but needed to open a trust account for my father to sell his house.  He has dimentia and has been living in a memory care unit for a couple years already.  We had a letter from his doctor stating he has dimentia, lives in a memory care unit, and "he has difficulty following one step instructions, knows his name only and has not managed his finances for the last 5 years."  It took three weeks(!) for their legal department and Will Carson (the banker at the Webster branch) to come back and say the doctor's comments weren't enough to show my father is incapacitated.  They said the doctor didn't make it clear that he's incapacitated due to the dimentia even though she stated he's in a memory care unit "secondary to neurocognitive decline".   PNC went so far as to speculate that my father might just be lazy and that's why he's not handling his own finances.  Will Carson stated: "The current statement of “has not managed his finances for the last five years” isn’t dependent to his current health. They see it as (him) just not doing the task."  My father with dimentia is just lazy I guess.  Thankfully, as this process dragged on for weeks, and the closing date was approaching, I walked down the street to Chase bank to start the same process.  They were wonderful.  Using the exact same documents, the whole process took three days.  I just can't believe they asserted that my father is simply being lazy.

We met Kiarra a few weeks ago when my wife and I came into a nearby PNC branch to add me to her accounts for access in case of an emergency. Kiarra was the most kind, polite, and professional banker we have ever worked with, and I do not say that lightly. Serving us was a little more than a complex handful. Painting the visual, in Kiarra's office, was my wife, myself, our 7-month-old baby in her carrier, and my service dog, so needless to say there was a LOT going on. She was attentive to everything and an absolute pleasure to talk with, making the experience so much more than a bank transaction. What could have been a quick and easy transaction with her subject matter expertise, lasted quite a bit longer (by choice), and this was due to Kiarra's professionalism and top-notch level of customer service. We quickly got to know each other and became friends sharing some of our life experiences with each other. Anytime I need to do PNC banking in the Noth Ridgeville Ohio area, there is not a doubt in my mind that I want to know that Kiarra is taking care of my banking, and my family would recommend her to anyone.

Every time I go into the PNC Bank at the Clearview Mall in Butler PA, I have to wait such a long time to get waited on. Today I was there, there was a person in front of me and two behind me and there were two girls working behind the counter. One of them was on the phone and the other one was playing with papers. Neither was waiting on the customers. I waited for about 10 minutes and then decided to leave as I was on my way to dinner. After dinner I went back and there was one girl behind the counter and I was the only one in line and I still had to wait to be waited on. This happens every time I go into that bank. The last time I was there, I waited a long time because the only girl behind the counter was waiting on the window and the counter. I said are you the only person working? They tried to say that someone had called off. I just hate going to that bank but when I'm close to that one I hate to drive the whole way across town to another PNC. The PNC at Moraine usually has a line of people but at least they are waiting on the people and not just letting them stand there.

Called the Delrio Texas branch on Main Street just to find out why there was a $25 service charge on my mom‘s account. They wouldn’t give me any information. I understand that because my name wasn’t on there even though I could provide him with all forms of her identification so she called the next day. She is 83 years old and they gave her such a hard time not only did she provide them with all the information they asked for but then they put her on hold for like half an hour and then told her  they couldn’t help her and hung up on her she tried calling several times and just got hung up on , I called later that day and was on hold for like 20 minutes so I called back again and the receptionist picked up the phone. I asked for the branch manager and they told me she wasn’t there and they told me the assistant manager was there so I asked to speak with her. They asked me my name , I waited a few minutes and they hung up on me very rude service very unprofessional just for a simple just for a simple question such horrible service Delrio is a very small town. A lot of seniors live there and this is the way they treat their senior customers PNC definitely needs to investigate the way they treat their customers at this branch!

I absolutely hate dealing with this bank.  I use it purely as a saving account.  I was a bbva client when banks changed to PNC. I have had nothing but difficulty in dealing with this terrible. Its the most unfriendly user bank.  Very Very frustrating to deal with.  I simply wanted to their routing number today and couldn't find it anywhere. When I called the bank at 5.30 Pm Central time on this Sat afternoon, I was told they are closed and nobody could help me.  I would hate to think that if my Debit card was misplaced or stolen, thieves would empty my account from Sat thru to Monday am while the bank is closed.  This is NOT acceptable Period!

The asst branch manager was super good at her job. She was  helpful, patient and capable of juggling several customers at the same time. Most impressive was She greeted 4 out of 5 of the customers entering by name. This bank felt warm and welcoming.

Andrew at the Cold Spring, KY location is a top notch employee! Every time I walk into the branch he makes a point to say hi and make sure we are happy with our services!!! Whenever there is an issue or concern, Andrew is on top of figuring out what occurred and explains the actions and steps needed to make things right!!!! We are so happy with PNC and especially the personalized banking we receive from Andrew!!!

I walked into the branch approved for a personal loan via online and the first thing the guy asks me is ‘why did you do it online’ explaining it was best option for me and he was rude that it’s not easier. i completed the personal loan the exact way someone previously did it, and they made me mail checks instead of putting it into my account. i then called the corporate team and they told me that i should not have to mail checks myself. this should have been added to my account. the person that previously did it the same way as i did, got this money added to my account. i personally just don’t rely on the US postal service with that amount of money. he was just very rude, not helpful, and i don’t think he had any idea what he was doing - i noticed that by the way he was inputting things on his computer. i will never go to this branch again. horrible experience. now i just have to hope it all goes smoothly. no thanks to this branch.

I had to complete a business transaction last month and had the pleasure of working with Kavonn Paxton. He was very professional and patient.  He listened to my request, and completed the transaction with accuracy.  He even went the extra mile to come to my car and confirm that the required checks were processed correctly.  I will definitely work with him again.

The drive thru is closed, no tellers on the inside.  Wait for someone to become available to assist.  Then find out the person who is supposed to be helping you doesn't have access.  This was a big request $100 in $ coins, and only 1 person can do that.  She was with another customer and I couldn't wait since I was on my lunch hour. No Saturday hours, so what happened to customer service?

That sucks, but dude sometimes people that work in an office environment like a bank slow down because that's the nature (& attitude of the other employees) to be slowpokes during the day because they can or it has been encouraged by the higher-ups within that office. I feel like you could have just sat there a little bit longer and gotten your $100 in $1 coins like Sacajawea Gold Dollars or whatever kind they have these days, and nothing would have happened to you (like a negative consequence) from your place of employment. Sorry you felt like that though, but I personally am not going to rule this branch out of the running for where I am going to open my next account at based on your review alone, but thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience!

I have done banking with pnc for years but lately I have had to do some business banking for my son and was impressed with your staff especially Jason. He was very efficient and friendly. But what impressed me the most was his ability to help me through some banking issues that were new to me. He was patient yet quickly helped me through things and explained how to do these things in the future. He was always very pleasant and patient. Thank you for such good service.

Josie Angelo has been so helpful in helping me in support of my father.  At every turn she has always went the extra mile with genuine concern and a smile!

Ordered checks 3 times and never got them. Every time I call the receptionists apologize for the poor service but I still have not received any checks and have run out of the temporary checks. This has been going on for over 2 months.

I have a custodial account with my son. We have deposited $3000 cash into our account. After few months we went to deposit a check and our account was empty. No cash in the account. I have complained to the bank and they couldn't figure out what happened to my money. Unfortunately I did not keep my deposit slip and there was no way for me to prove it. we are still missing money and bank did not offer anything to help us to find our money. Very poor service and very disappointed with the bank's response to our complaint. Unfortunately for my son his first banking experience was very painful one.

You should ALWAYS keep your deposit slips!  The fact that you did not (as you reported above) raises serious questions about the alleged deposit.  Also, throwing away your deposit slip -- especially before you made sure the money was properly credited to your account -- amounts to not showing the kid the right way to bank.  This incident should, however, teach a valuable lesson. [Otherwise, I'm sorry to hear of your loss.]

I went in to get a loan for the first time in my life.  I was going to purchase a car and wanted to get approved before I went and looked at the car.  The bank representative tells me I need to get a personal loan.  I tell her I don’t want to take out a loan and that I just want to be approved to see what my interest rate would be.  She makes me fill out a ton of paperwork and tells me that the bank is writing a check and that if I wanted to take out the loan to buy the car that day i could.  I explicitly repeated myself and said that I did not want to take the loan out today and wanted to get approved and have an idea of why my interest rate would be.  She reaffirms that I am not taking a loan out unless I cash the check.  I even go to the point to ask if I threw the check away would there be any negative consequences and she says no.  I don’t buy the car therefore I don’t use the check.  One month later I get notified my credit has dropped 50 point and that the loan was taken out even though I never cashed the check.  I call PNC and they say I HAVE to deposit the check and pay the interest accrued even though I didn’t buy the car or need the loan.  The staff was not understanding at all and I felt extremely cheated and taken advantage of.  The bank representative lied to me the day I got the loan and essentially this bank has stolen money from me in the process.  If you expect integrity don’t bother walking through the door.
