I have had bad customer service and horrible customer service and while it is never fun to deal with I’m usually glad that I can choose not to go there anymore. But now I have to change all my banking around because Chase chooses to treat their customers like their suffering from a mental disorder.
I called the Totem Lake location and was greeted by James I think it was (honestly doesn’t matter because in the end he represents the company).
I had transferred money into my savings from checking and it turned out that I had attempted to transfer more than I had. Simple mistake, which might lead one to think that the system would simply say unable to complete transfer due to insignificant funds.
Instead the system allows the transfer and hits me with an insufficient funds fee of 34.00, and does not complete the transfer.
So I call and James picks up the phone and I state that I need to speak to a banker. What follows is about ten to twenty seconds of dead silence and then “well that would be me” in a less than friendly tone. Not “how can I help” or “what can I do for you”. So he proceeds to ask me for my debit card information to bring up my account information. I tell him I have it and then silence for another twenty seconds proceed.
The banker was rude and condescending during the entire conversation, bringing up my past banking history as if it’s any of his business and the fact it has nothing to do with my phone call. He starts to lecture me on my past banking history and states I had several insufficient funds in the last three years.
Then he lectures me on how the broken Chase process works and that if I had only transferred enough to go only -4.90 then I would not have received the fee. But he can for this one time only refund me back 20 of the 34.00 I was charged.
I called the 800 customer service line for chase and was treated much better and was refunded the full amount.
As for banking with Chase me and my family are leaving, I may not have millions of dollars but I sure just as anyone else deserve to be treated like a human being with dignity and respect.

I went to the White Lake Michigan Chase branch to cash a Chase check written to me. At my bank, 5/3, and also my corporations bank, Comerica, this takes 5 minutes......tops. Took almost a half hour at Chase. I asked for my drivers license and check to be returned to me so that I could leave, the teller kept replying "one minute sir". Even after I threatened to call the police "just another minute sir". Maybe the employees are stupid? Do they not comprehend the English language? Or are they just slow and rude? YOU BE THE JUDGE! No, don't do that. Go anywhere except Chase! A party store....Walmart....ANYWHERE except Chase bank.

Teller forgot to give change back

Teller forgot to give change back.
I bought a gift card at this Chase location (3080 old Alabama Rd, Johns Creek, GA). The total transaction was $85. I handed $90 to the teller. She did not give me change.
I was the only customer at the bank at that time so it is not like she was busy with a long line of customers.
I took a couple of minutes to write the gift card at another desk at the bank. When I wrote the amount the gift card was for on the greeting card, I realized she forgot to give me my change.
I went back and she handed me the change, which was sitting on top of her desk all this time. I wonder why she did not call me over to hand me the money before I asked for it?
I should have counted the money when I left the teller window. But it is in a teller's job description to process transactions correctly. She should have given my change without me having to ask for it.

I went in this bank and I was one of TWO customers while I filled out my deposit, which took me 15 minutes since I had a large number of checks to endorse. I counted FIFTEEN, that's 15 employees that were doing basically NOTHING. I know there were at least 2 more in the back, doing the same. They were all laughing and joking and having a good time doing NOTHING. Wow, how can I get a job doing NOTHING? No wonder CHASE lost BILLIONS of dollars!!!

Unfortunate Surprise
Overall Rating
by docricco, Jun. 09, 2012
I've been a Chase customer for 31 years coming originally from Chicago. Recently experienced a legal surprise when due to an upcoming divorce, the Chase Legal Dept. froze all my accounts including the two that the soon to be ex spouse cleaned out. When I came into the bank the personnel was very simpathetic and helful. They stayed after hours to assit in trying to help me free up any account just to put gas in my truck. They followed up with me through the whole ordeal which took 3 days to clear up. People like Pedram and his Branch Manager Paul, were very much involved in making sure I was taken care of. Although it's been a bad time right now, I have been impressed by the Chase team at Ladera Ranch. Of course they now know me as I walk in as we all hold are breath regarding any more surprises that may occur in upcoming months but they continue to be a positive in assisting their customers.

I've have been banking at this location for about 2 years, and I wanted to say the tellers are great. Never a line, quick service. However, I am a recent college grad and about a year ago I noticed my account was no longer being tagged as a college student & I lost free checking and was going to be charged fees monthly if I didn't keep a certain amount in my account/or deposit an amount that was higher than my direct deposit paychecks. I stopped in and spoke with a young male banker, and he was not helpful at all. I left with the situation unresolved. Instead, I drove to the Chase bank in Riverside to see what they could do for me & the young female banker there was more than happy to help me. She extended my student banking account since I will be in graduate school in the fall, and I no longer had to pay unfair monthly fees. Just a recommendation for those unsatisfied-always try to look elsewhere. If I hadn't gotten the great service from the Riverside bank branch I was going to switch to free checking at Huntington.

I am a current Chase customer and have stopped in to this location twice to take care of a need on my account. I have several accounts with them for my personal account and business. After waiting for over 40 minutes the first time for a personal banker, I left because I had another appointment. This time I stopped in again 3 weeks later and a couple already waiting. How are you a full service bank, when you don't have the people to provide service?

After over fifteen years of being a loyal Washington Mutual Savings Bank and, subsequently, Chase Bank customer, I was miffed when a Chase Bank computer arbitrarily caused a change in my banking status which then set into motion fees for what had long been grandfathered free service accounts. After calling the corporate office and personally visiting the Walla Walla Branch, I felt frustrated with the dawning realization that old school empathy and good neighbor customer service had succumbed to the new "corporatespeak." Vowing that I was going to either find someone who would truly listen and help me find a remedy to the problem...or leave Chase forever even if it meant finding an inferior bank with free checking...I tried one more strategy--going to the College Place branch.
Literally three seconds after entering the bank, Bank Manager, Mary K., welcomed me and asked how she might help. Rather than delegate another person to handle my concerns, she invited me into her office and invited me to air my problem, even when it meant having to listen to my rant about corporate structure.
She was a great listener, very empathetic, and willing to go the extra mile. Assuring me that she would discuss my case with the district manager, Mary K. gave me 100% customer courtesy, great eye contact, and a sense of optimism that Chase truly hadn't forgotten about "the little guy."
Mary called me a few days later to give me the great news that she and her district manager had found a way to reinstate my former status. It meant a bit of corporate account juggling, but the important thing is that they made the earnest effort and had utilized a bit of creativity to remedy the situation.
When I consider how the College Place Branch Manager had helped me move from a position of truly wanting to terminate all of my accounts at Chase Bank to a position of extreme gratitude, I have no hesitation at all in giving this particular branch the highest ratings possible.
Thank you so very much, Mary K. You and your staff have renewed my confidence in Chase Bank. Your hometown friendliness and sincere concern for your customers were hallmark traditions that J. P. Morgan himself utilized in his business dealings. Certainly, you've made him proud today!

Your hometown friendliness and sincere concern for your customers are hallmark traditions that J. P. Morgan himself utilized in his business dealings. Certainly, you've made him proud today!

Do not go to this branch. Someone there, i believe, told a nutual friend about a dheck i deposited there. This teller told some people I knew and pretty much a whole bunch of people now know about it. I closed my account of over 10 years immediately. DO NOT USE THIS BRANCH. And if you have any issues, talk to their corp offices directly. Dont bother with these jokers. Unprof. The teller who disclosed personal info dep my check. She was also rude and nasty. Go to TD bank.

I opened an account with Chase in Harahan a few months ago. The staff are courteous, helpful, and (unlike other banks in the area) they come across as happy to be doing business with their customers. I have been working with Carlos at the Harahan branch, and he is absolutely fantastic- friendly, efficient, and excellent with follow-up. Keep up the good work!

I went into my local Chase bank (Los Banos, Ca) with a card I received in the mail for $100 if you set up automatic deposit. I intended on using it....trying the bank out for a while. When the manager came over she essentially tried talking me out of using the coupon. She asked if I intended on staying with the bank for a long period of time, and I responded "I don't know yet, I thought I would try you guys out". She proceeded to tell me that I was not the kind of customer they were looking for. I was shocked!! I had never been so insulted! Needless to say, I did not set up auto deposit. If it weren't for my positive experiences at every other Chase location I would have closed my account all together.
