Most of the time, when you walk up to the bank in our walmart, the Woodforest employees are hiding in the back. I assume there is a breakroom back there, and if so, they are very familiar with it. You really never know if the bank is open or closed because no one is working there.

Handling of Deceased Relative's Accounts

My wife was appointed independent executor by Montgomery County courthouse for her deceased brother's estate. She obtained her letter of independent administration from same court. She previously called Woodforest Bank in Willis to ascertain the procedure to close her brother's accounts, she was told to simply bring in the court documents and it could be accomplished upon that visit. It is an hour and a half drive from our home to Woodforest Bank. We appeared at bank and presented them the correct court documents and were denied access to her deceased brother's account. She was told that the Woodforest legal group would have to review the documents and that we would be notified when to return. Why didn't they inform us of this policy, we wasted a trip to Willis. It was not a good day being treated like this, we will certainly NEVER use or recommend Woodforest Bank.

I've been a customer for a time, about 9 months ago I want to the bank in Washington Court House I always go to. Big surprise all new employees with very Snobie attitudes, they ARE NOT NICE or FRIENDLY at all! I really do miss they other ladies that did work in the W.C.H., OH store the were very nice and would always help.

My late mother banked at this place, and I have to say closing her accounts with these people was absolutely terrible! First of all, nobody at this branch knew what they were doing. Not the teller, not either of the managers, not the well dressed people back in the office. They had to "call legal" and have us wait several days before they could do anything at all. So first off, they are incompetent. Second, they have ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. They will make you feel like you are at Wal-Mart waiting for Customer Service to refund you for some dumb item. But is that really how you want your money handled? We waited FORTY MINUTES for a person--not their teller at the front, but the "expert" who works back in the office--to cut us cashiers checks to look at my ID, double check with the email from their corporate branch in Texas or wherever, and then she SPELLS MY NAME WRONG ON THE CHECK WHILE SHE HAS MY ID RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF HER! I pointed out, "You spelled my name wrong. I won't be able to cash this." She treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. She actually ARGUED THAT THE PEOPLE AT HER OFFICE HAD IT RIGHT. Okay? Idiotic. She also quite coldly refused to tell us anything at all about the accounts. Screw you, screw your dead mother. Who cares if you are our customers? (She might as well have banked at Pop Copy...) They wouldn't take us to a desk (there are three in their little bank, completely unused), we had to stand there with people asking us if we were in line...

It took her another half hour to fix it, by handwriting on the check. SMDH. Finally, we ask this same person to notarize a document--she has a notary with the county, right?--It requires two witnesses, and she gets a coworker as a witness and signs the other one. She then proceeds to inform us that SHE CANNOT NOTARIZE IT NOW, BECAUSE SHE IS A WITNESS, thus wasting our form! (She was wrong about that, by the way, we got another notary to do it, and she had no problem with that.)

These people are incompetent, and hire folks with not a shred of sense. Buyer beware, they made closing out a deceased loved one's account an absolute nightmare, and they had zero empathy, courtesy, or class about it. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

They suck! Have no concern for their customers at all! I also love how there are 3 to 4 people standing behind the counter talking and will make you wait in a line instead of helping you in a timely manner! You are getting paid people to do a job so do it! Today I went in to do a cash advance. Done it every month off this card for years now all the sudden it’s a problem. Never been asked for my pin in all the years I’ve used this card and of course then the card was declined. The employees just hands me the card and says she cannot try again. I asked so what am I supposed to do? I need this money to make my car payment! They could care less. I had to go purchase items to take cash off my card that way because they couldn’t be bothered. Hate this bank. Left there and went to another bank so I plan to go back tomorrow to open a new checking with someone else. Every time I go to this bank it’s always some kind of issue! They wouldn’t let me deposit a SSI check that my son gets either! Had done that for a couple years with no problem then all the sudden they couldn’t do that either! Just a joke. Do yourself a favor and open an account at another bank and not Woodforest !

Sounds to me like some of those "most helpful folks" need to be taken out behind the ole woodshed and taught a few manners! If they could just pull off the job they ask for, trained for and GET PAID TO DO.... Well you get where his is going

They were so nice for 2 years. Then today my account was closed suddenly. The postcard I found when I got home stated "due to the extensive monitoring required for the activity conducted ... the account will be closed ...
Now, I tried to transfer the money in the account to another bank and I cannot transfer the money for immediate use. The postcard states they will mail a check to me for the money remaining in the account.

Worst banking experience EVER!!! Had to move & left enough money in account for couple months service charge. After less than three months they took additional fees and closed my account leaving me $4.12 overdrawn. When I got settled 950 miles away and received zero emails that the account was closed and gave my new employer my account info for direct deposit: they accepted my deposit and deducted the 4.12 fee and an overdraft fee. Fine. Then accepted a second direct deposit and then continue to to take out fees on a closed account!!!!!!! Then told me by Robyn at the Alexandria louisiana branch that they were mailing me the remainder of my money that the stole by accepting into a closed account. She also told me that she would let me know when she mailed me the cashiers check that of course they were charging me for! No call... no check at new address I provided. As I live 300 miles from nearest branch I cannot travel to receive the money they have that belongs to me in person and work as I work 6 days a week. How can they keep taking service fees for an account they closed? That is theft! So; i continue to call the North Mall Dr branch only to be given a false corporate number. This bank is awful and i will spend my money to sue them if not resolved very soon. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS EVER!!!!!!

Zaraha matthews is very rude i have came several times and had to deal with her her attitude and disposition is very unwelcoming and her demeanor is ugly with me as a customer and the manager at this almeda location is unhelpful i've had to talk to her several times over the last few months about multiple situations and her attitude is just as bad and she hasn't been able to resolve not one thing i've asked her since i've been baking with woodforest and i do not wish to bank with woodforest anymore because of it

This location is horrible! They are very rude!!! Corporate approves of their behavior and makes excuses for them!!!! Adena the manager needs to teach employees to respect customers and Angelica has been rude for years!! I totally dislike this branch and I have been banking with them for years!!!

I don't like this bank at all when i banked with Bank of America if something wasnt my fault they would wave the fee but this bank trying to take u for all your money even if its not your fault

I am an ex military wife, my ex husband was in the Marine Corps 1st then U.S Army retired after 24 yrs in, he was deployed to Iraq after 9/11 he stayed there for 5 years then came home for 2 weeks then retired in them 2 weeks and went back over as a contractor working with Special Forces. He has now been there 10 years. All the time he has been there he has sent me money for me to take care of the household bills and to take care of the 3 kids, we divorced in 2004 and he still sent me money til yesterday 06/15/2015 and he would send by way of wiring from his bank account with USAA & Capital One, into my Woodforest account for the last 3 yrs since I moved to Louisiana, I had been with other banks before and NEVER had any problems, today I tried to use my debit card an couldn't so I went to the bank to find out what was wrong, they told me my account was closed for suspicious activity on my account and due to the extensive monitoring required for the activity on your account we regret to inform you your account will be closed. I called and spoke with the corporate office and they said they are not obliged to tell me what was suspicious activity was on my account, We have the same last name and the wires come in his name to my name and they can also see I pay all my bills with my debit card, so they are thinking I am a drug dealer or money laundering, so they closed my account, my 3 kids have accounts with them that now we are closing and I advise you to NEVER bank with them, My ex husband and best friend fights for this country and I can't even have him wire money to me from his bank account to pay bills and take care of the kids as long as I was with Wood Forest National Bank, because to them I am obviously a criminal and not a mother & ex military wife of 24 years!!!

You could always get a job and make your own money? Or maybe go back to school? That was the most poorly written jumble of nonsense I've ever seen. What did the service and time served, moving, children, divorce, etc., have to do with any of this? It didn't.

I live in Sanford NC and recently I asked  my parents to transfer my money from Russia. Wood Forest is the only bank in this area that handles large Western Union transactions. The web site said the large transactions can be up to $5,000,  but in reality you cannot cash over $2,500. I had no idea, otherwise I would not tell my parents to use Western Union to make it easier for them. There was no note or any sign in the bank about their limits on transactions. The bank changed their limit without informing Western Union so they could update theit site. They offered to senders(my parents) to split one transaction, but  it didn't work and my parents got the money back. But they lost $161 for transferring money back and forth.

You do know that Woodforest has no control over Western Union right? Woodforest only offers their services. If Western Union changes something, Woodforest has to abide by their rules just like Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly or any other business that offers the Western Union service. That would be like blaming a Pawn Shop for not giving you info on your power bill.

This is by far the worst bank ever!!!! My husband has an account with them, they are rude, the manager always gives my husband some type of off the wall reason to not help him, they have deposited our funds into other accounts, they've deposited other people's funds into our account, do not bank with this bank, maybe others are better but not this one!!!! Unless you want to loose ur hard earned money with a dumb manager I wouldn't suggest them to anyone!!!

I am paid on tuesday of every week. I work from 9am to 6pm, since this bank closes at 6pm I leave work at 5:30 pm to get to bank, company I work for is small and direct deposit is not available. Tuesday a few weeks ago I got to the bank at about 8 minutes till 6pm. there were two women working, and did not get up out of their chairs to help me. At 6pm one of the ladies tells me they are closed and I could not make a transaction, and as I believe anybody would I told her she was not closed 8 minutes ago, and the lady was very inconsiderate of my needs. Finally the other lady got up and help me. I must say I wanted the young ladies job. The only reason I have not complained sooner is my account is very small and by the end of the next payday it is empty. I bank at this bank due to the hours of operation, but i must say with that kind of customer service I will be relocating to another bank.

This branch is incompetent! The girl kept inputing everything wrong. Then  a week later found out that she screwed up on adding me to my husband's account. She put his social on mine also. So now we have to go back again because she obviously is incapable of doing her job. I do not recommend this branch for anything!

I will say that normally this isnt a great bank but they now have a friendly and knowledgeable young man working there who makes each visit a pleasure.  Thank you Chase keep up the great work.

Three months ago, I deposited a third party check.  It was my brother's small handwritten $100.00 paycheck. It was endorsed properly and then deposited into the overnight deposit box.  Four days later I got a call from a bank manager who told me that they don't handle third party checks and to come pick up the check.  I had never heard of a bank not cashing a third party check.  I asked why and the rep told me that they didn't know my brother and could not verify his identity. What?  I couldn't believe it.  So I checked their website and all of the documents they gave me when I opened the account and found no policy of the sort.  So I went into the branch to pick up the check and asked for a written policy and the manager could not offer any written policy and just said, sorry ma'am, we do not cash third party checks.  So all of the bank managers follow a spoken yet unwritten policy.  Who does that?

Used Woodforest for Western Union Money Transfers Many times before. On March 24, 2014 a (new employee) was allowed by her manager to Refuse Service to me. The employee Profiled me as being involved in illegal activity. In her verbal comments I felt she was on the edge of defamation of my character. I represent a church who was sending money to a foreign missionary to help repair a church roof damaged from a typhoon that went through the Phillipines. I went to another Western Union facility within 5 miles of this Bank and made the transaction without issue. Shame on the employees at Woodforest National Bank who were involved with this incident.  I showed them I.D.'s and had proof of who I represented, they did not believe me. This incident should have never happened!!!!

Ummm...you do know that WNB employees have no control over Western Union correct? When your information is enters into the WU portal, WESTERN UNION flags you and does not allow the employee to continue the transaction until YOU speak with a WESTERN UNION customer service rep. Don't get mad at Woodforest, get mad at Western Union or maybe you were being scammed.

Very rude employees on cell phones while helping my son open his first account I had my grandson also with me the employee turned to her co worker and said something stinks then she told me I needed to change my sons diaper # 1 that's not her worry concern or job # 2 my grandsons diaper was cleaner than her mouth #3 if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all!!! Very Disrespectful  Employees they should be fired many others would love to have their job and appreciate it and their customers!!! These women were very rude Ill mannered and I will do business else where my grandson is mixed and this insult was also raciest the women were black me and my son are Caucasian   The only abusive language is coming from your employees since when does a bank clerk tell you your child stinks and needs the diaper changed Never!!! Totally out of line

That's not racism. Your feelings were just hurt. While I would honestly require my own employees to keep such comments to themselves, as it very well could be viewed as insulting, you cannot in any way pertain such comments to race.

Teller didn't know the meaning of the terms on my bank statement.

I was not told about the $15 activation fee for a debit card.

Online payments are sometimes "pending" for up to a week. I didn't know what this meant but people on eBay will not ship my items until this is gone. Hmmm.

There is no Q&A on their website and very limited information.

The only way to activate the debit card is at an ATM, no number to call for activation like most banks.

They only have ATMs at their bank locations.

Need I say more?

I have never had an activation fee on debit card at this bank. Usually the only activation needed is to make a purchase with it. I've been with this bank since 2009 in North Carolina and Texas, and they have been like family to us in Greenville, NC, the Austin, TX area, and in West Texas. We have eaten out with some of the managers and their families and been treated like true friends by other managers and employees. I closed my accounts with B.O.A,1st Convenience Bank, Regions, and others in order to keep Wood Forest. The closest branch to us is almost 100 miles away, but I won't trust or do business with any other. Had gliches, but they fix them and forgive my mess ups, so I'll stay with them.

This bank is filled with the rudest "GHETTO Staff". People are more well spoken at a fast food restaurant. I have heard employees say all kinds of inappropriate things while in front of customers. I heard one black woman yell at a white woman there saying she was gonna hit her with customers around.I do not recommend going to this bank ever!!!
