US Bank advertises :

Our online application is fast, simple and completely secure.

- Fast   Five minutes is all it takes to open a checking account online.

- Simple Use a credit or debit card to make your opening deposit.

I moved to Vegas August 13, 2015 and found a house with my boyfriend on September 13, 2015.

Since my bank does not have branches in Vegas I felt that opening a local checking account would be beneficial.  I decided on US Bank as they are close to my house and in a grocery store (Smith's), which I frequent.  

So I opened account ******2299 online on Thursday October 1, 2015.

On October 2nd I deposited a check for $28.50 for my opening deposit at the Jones Branch North Las Vegas NV.

On October 13th I received my US Check Card at address where I reside.

I went to Branch showed my Oklahoma Drivers license and activated the bank card and set my pin.  

I was not advised of any issues with the account.

This is where the nightmare begins:

I received call from US Bank (Carol) on October 14th at 6:45 pm advising my account is on hold
pending further verification and I am not able to use it.  

I asked to speak to supervisor and was advised he is gone for the day.  I requested call back for the next day.

No call back occurred.

I called US Customer Service the next day October 15th, and they called the Jones North Las Vegas Branch and I was told a call back would occur within 45 minutes from Branch Manager.

No call back occurred.

I received 2nd letter from US Bank with my pin number for the debit card at my North Vegas Address.

Next day October 16th I called District Manager Malcolm M. at 11:45 AM and left a message with the issue my main
concern being that non of the promised callbacks ever occurred.

Again no call back occurred (3rd attempt).

Today October 17th I went to the branch in Las Vegas with my Lease, my boyfriend, who is on the lease with me
plus a gas bill and a phone bill a well as both letters US Bank send me showing my address.

I am on the lease, but as I was not working yet the utility bills are in my boyfriends name.

The clerk was going to remove the hold based on the lease when he was approached by a female Manager.

Next thing I was told that they had to 'verify the lease'.

The female Manager did not wear a name tag so unfortunately I do not know her name.

She was very rude and contracending (yes not letting people talk and if they talk by having to interrupt you
or having to raise their voice not addressing their concern and act like they have not spoken and look at them like they are misbehaving children is considered being rude) which leads me to believe it is the same
Lady I spoke to on the phone which would be Carol who was also rude and contracenting.

She stated that North Vegas is a high fraud Area which is the reason why there was a hold put on my account as I have an out of state drivers license.

I asked


a) wouldn't US BANK know I have an out of state license when I fill out the online application ? - like when you enter the state and the number and your address

b) Why was I NOT told Monday when the Representative had my out of state in his hand and set my pin that additional verification is needed?

c)  I have no checks and no overdraft protection - how exactly can I defraud US Bank?

She addressed none of my questions and with a sneer she also mentioned that I had called the district manager, so
apparently he called the branch, but never called me back.

Due to the rudeness and disrespect I have chosen to close my account which the female Manager acted
like she couldn't wait to do so.  

My impression is that if she does not like you you won't bank there.

After the first call I researched US Bank and I was amazed how many hundreds negative comments there
are and only very few positives (mostly employees?).

Bottom Line:

- you can open an account maybe in 5 minutes online, but don't count on getting to use it

- any funds deposited may be held hostage, so don't deposit money you can't spare

- it is very clear that Management does not care about customers and will go out of their way to harass you and take vindictive action.  YES not returning calls is equal to not caring - from Tuesday to Saturday noone returned my calls ... 3 different Manager/Supervisor, Branch Manager, District Manager.

- Asking for supervisors, Branch Managers and District Managers will get you absolutely no where except a smirk from the help about which you are calling about.

If I would have seen all the negative feedback BEFORE the fact I would have NEVER Opened an account here.

I am 44 year old hard working and was treated like a common criminal and frankly I do not appreciate it.

 READ the comments ...  one one star rating after the next ...  I guess they are all wrong?

Rude Condescending, non helpful discriminating.

In Germany we have a saying ...  Ohne Spesen nichts gewesen meaning other than expenses nothing happened.

I was surprised at the many negative reviews on US Bank,  but then i noticed they are not talking about the US Bank on Craig and Jones in North Las Vegas!

We have been banking with US Bank for over 2 years now and we are continuously impressed with the small town personal service. Many of the tellers know us by name (and us them). Everyone in the bank is personable and friendly.
We are especially impressed with JOVONNE CARSON the best Branch Manager ever. She goes out of her way to help up us with anything we need and is very professional. Everyone at the bank is top notch including Dale, Lisa, Charnea and Joanna. Other Branches should be trained by THIS BANK! I should add that I USED TO bank with Wells Fargo and will NEVER go back to them. We can't say enough great things about US Bank in North Las Vegas.

We switch all of our account to US Bank here in Shelbyville KY. Not a single complaint! They have treated us like we are their only customer! We will continue to bank with these fine folks!

Very poor customer service

This afternoon I came into office to change my bank account type. Waited for the bank associate to finish with a customer at her desk.  I thought the clerk at the window couldn’t help with this. After she finished with that person I asked kindly if I could be next. She nicely waved me back and said someone would help me soon. After completing some phone calls she left her desk to speak with a clerk at the front desk. When returning to her desk she went to the next couple in line who had just came in and asked them how she could help them, ignoring me. I asked her if I needed to come back at a different time. Again she said someone would help me shortly. At that point I realized she was not a person I could trust to help me. Walking back to my vehicle I also realized the couple she helped matched her race. Hopefully this wasn’t the reason she ignored me and hopefully she won’t get promoted as a result of this incident.

have never been treated better by any banking establishment ever.. I have a home mortgage,checking,2 cd's, line of credit, and had a personal loan as well.It doesnt matter that I am in the red most of the time, I have always been treated with respect. The branch manager even took care of part of my final loan payment due to a misunderstanding on my part. I have always seen them flex and bend with any of my needs. They certainly have more to lose than I do should we part ways. I really love banking with US Bank. Even the people on the credit card side are amazing.. I dont think I have ever entered my home branch bank and not been acknowledged. Kuddos to Dan and his fabulous team from the tellers, Aubry,who is so awesome, to the loan specialists, Meagan, who is so much fun! Thank you Dan, you have no idea how grateful I am.

Was told by drive up window worker on 04/21/2023 @9:06am  if a check doesn't scan there is no other way to accept it, and that a new check would need to be provided (  this was for a business so that would have been a very difficult thing to accomplish, she was very rude, basically said take your business elsewhere. Hope my company takes there business  back to central bank of Eldon as we never had a problem with them.

My mom is elderly and banks there, who has plenty of money. They give her such a hard time, taking her through loops to gain access into her account and refuse to allow her to speak to a manager. They give her wrong account information. The list goes on and on!

OMGosh!!!
Totally un organized!  They had months to prepare for a loan that my husband and i were co-signing on. Proir to the official signing the borrowers were told they could go to a branch to sign some other document but when the arrived the bank said they were to busy and sent the to the other branch.  The day of signing all four if us sign and leave. After being a mile away we get a call to come back because Nicole forgot to have us sign something.  She apologized and although I said no worries I was a bit disappointed because the roads were bad from freezing cold and snow and it was inconvenient to go back but i was not to mad.  Now its been ONE Month later and US Bank/ Nicole called and said the way the papers were done said my husband was married to the borrowers husband and I was married yo the borrowers wife therefore we all need to come bavk in an re-sign!!  I'm getting ready to leave on a trip along with other very important things going on over tge next week and now we have to figure out a time to go do this all over again! I asked to do it electronically this time but Nicole says it can not be done electronically, SERIOUSLY!! People sign legal documents electronically all over the world on a dsily basis but US Bank can't!  OMG!  HOW MAMY MISTAKES can they make! How many times do we all hzve to go back because they messed up.  At this point they should be so apologetic that they shoukd comme to my house with a notary and the new papers!! REALY US BANK!!!

I went to this location to have a document notarized.  I called several days before to see if both parties had to be account holders and was told one was ok.  Today I arrived and was informed both parties had to be USBANK customers.  I left and went to the Bonner Springs location which provided outstanding customer service with no questions asked.  Thank You, Bonner location for your curiosity.

US Bank could be twice as profitable if they would fire the back of the house and upper management. They sold my REI card to Capital One, made it impossible to get a new CC or a mortgage and they don’t work well with Zelle or Venmo. I don’t even use my US Bank CC. I have an 800 FICO and they treat me like dirt.

Kramer peters...Mortgage loan specialist replied to my inquiry on 11-15-22. Literally badgering me with phone messages. After Appling for a mortgage pre-approval, and qualifying, he never sent any letter or email stating such. Verbally  he confirmed. Meanwhile I found my dream home, and had to email this guy wondering what the lack of any communication was! Wheres my preapproval letter?.meanwhile I purchased a home...US bank mortgage
 association embarrassed me with my realtor...left me high and dry ..and  IMHO is the WORST. FYI,FACT, 3 emails and one call to Kramer peters since has gone unanswered.
Avoid US Bank mortgage association apply with a professional, caring, and local bank.

we were there yesterday 11/14/22 and the skinny hispanic teller was no help and was very rude against us and other lady the show up the change her address, she didn’t want to help us so we took our business somewhere else, we went to o other bank the the service was exceptional, we will not be coming back to US bank in columbus,Ne

Scam Thwarted!

I want to thank US Bank, Des Peres MO branch and especially Kate Johnston-Adams for their help in guiding my elderly mother through the prevention of a scam she was unknowingly about to participate in. She came to the branch prepared withdraw a large sum of money to payout on what was in reality a scam phone call. The branch asked questions, assured her it was a scam, not to follow through with at and then alerted family members. I greatly appreciate their help. Who knows what would have happened when the cash was handed over. Well Done US Bank!

I am a senior and have had my US Bank account for over 40 years.  Recently, my real estate broker and I needed a quick proof of funds, a transfer of funds between accounts and wiring instructions.  
My broker and I walked into the bank not realizing that we needed an appointment. Immediately, Gloria Torres took complete  care of us.  Who said that Customer Service is dead? Without Gloria and her professionalism/speed we would not have been able to continue our real estate transaction.
I hope everyone appreciates Gloria as much as I do.  She is such an asset to US Bank.  I now have someone that I can contact with all of my banking needs.

This branch used to be really good. Cynthia is the manager or the person in charge. We switched branches to avoid this woman because she does not pay attention to what she is doing, there is no way she should be in charge of anything. When we switched branches we were doing really well and now they have moved her here and now we will move again.

We had our checking, savings etc. hacked a couple weeks ago.  We immediately called fraud control and had everything blocked.  Then we went into our Chisago branch and started the process of restarting each account. Working with branch manager Brandt and assistant Jeremy, we were able to get everything up and running in the shortest possible time.  They were so patient and understanding and even though shorthanded, spent quality time with us.  Everything was explained in detail as we accomplished our task!!  we now have new checking, savings, debit cards and they are all working. Both of these gentlemen deserve promotions but please don't take them from "our" bank, as we truly need these types of people in our community.  Small town still works.

I have banked here at this building in Lake Geneva for 46 years. We have never been treated with anything but the utmost kindness and respect whether doing day-to-day banking or securing a loan. My children had their little savings accounts here when they were learning about money and they were escorted into the huge vault that they had always wanted to see. I appreciate this bank for its service, and the access to so many branches in other areas of the country.
Thanks US Bank for years of dedication to your customers!

I have approximately $60,000 in my savings account at US Bank.  I had the understanding that I was signed up for overdraft protection on my checking account to automatically pull from my savings account.  As it turns out, I did have the overdraft protection, but they charged me $36 every time I went negative.  Over a 2 week period, I was charged $684 in fees alone.  I was not notified at the time that I was overdrafting.  Long story short, they would only refund me $216 of the $684 in fees.  This happened at the US Bank at 749 Main Street, Pleasanton, California.  The bank manager is Anthony Jones.  He was NOT helpful at all.  Let’s just say that I am in the process of closing all my accounts with US Bank (a total of $200,000 in savings accounts!) and moving to Union Bank.
