After 36 years of banking with a local bank, mostly because they were the only ones in town, but also because of wanting to go with the "little guy" rather than Bank of America, the Guerneville branch of this bank has lost us at last. Their customer service has deteriorated to the point where it feels pretty much like they think it is their money instead of mine. It is heartbreaking to have something so local feel so utterly disconnected. A 2009 post mentions a "hometown feel". Boy, that's gone for sure now. No teller has been there long enough to know a bank robber from a school teacher, or to extend courtesy and recognition to long time customers. Being asked for ID repeatedly when making DEPOSITS? Being asked who the person who wrote you a now endorsed check is? ( and show id?).  We don't do online banking, used to like the "personal touch", but if you live in or around Guerneville, go with the Credit Union.
