I never received my cc bill one month so naturally I went past the payment date.. I don't know where that statement ended up but there are mailings that get lost... I asked them for a one time courtesy (I was all of 3 days late) to remove the late fee which was 25 + 2 for min interest charge on a balance of 71.22. I have never paid a bill late in my life but they wouldn't remove the charge.

Worst bank I have ever dealt with! Slap happy with $33 overdraft charges with payments that haven't even cleared yet and are still "pending" even when i opted OUT of overdraft protection! Customer service is a joke. As long as they get money out of you! They charge you to use your pin number every time you use it $.25! And of course they don't tell you that! Awful experience all around....just pitiful. Hopefully these reviews will help others not do business here and get screwed.

On numerous occasions I have been trying to get someone to call me back with answers to the questions I have.
I can never get these people to return a phone call. I can't go into the bank because I don't live in that state anymore.
I have direct withdrawals coming out of my account so I can't close it right now and open a new account. The people answering the phone seemed so bothered by me calling, and I hung up after waiting more than 5 minutes on hold.

I'm a single mother with two children and was robbed while traveling in Asia. I immediately called US bank to cancel my debit card on my personal and business accounts. The customer service agent (if you want to call her that) was so rude. I was a single mother traveling with two children and now had no access to MY money and she absolutely refused to help me.
I asked if she could fedex me a new debit card?
No.
Could she wire me money from my account?
No.
Could a family member go into the account with my verification and withdraw money?
No.
Could she mail my debit card to a family member so they could fedex it to me?
No.
I asked her how I was supposed pay for my hotel... her response was "that's not our problem, ma'am." and which point she hung on me.
In comparison, I called my credit card company. Their first response was. "I am so sorry to hear about what happened. Yes absolutely we can help you! But first, how are you doing? Are you and your children ok?"
Are that fiasco. I came home, reopened new accounts and filed a formal complaint with US Bank...
Now it's Tax Season... Since my bank accounts were closed because my wallet was stolen, and I of course had choosen paperless statements, I called US Bank and asked if they could send me copies of my statements because I no longer have online access to the old accounts (because they are closed). And they want to charge me $6/statement for 12 months for 2 accounts.
That's $144!!!
Absolutely unacceptable!!!
How on earth do they stay in business!! I was robbed. They didn't care and now they want to rob me!
Stay away!! Bank elsewhere... My old back was bought out by US Banks so I thought I'd give them a try, but they are the worst bank I have ever had to deal with my entire adult life....

I had a bookkeeper fraudulently acquire a bank card in my name on our business account and begin systematically stealing funds to the tune of over $43,000.00. When discovered by a new bookkeeper I immediately called US Bank and the Police, as instructed by their fraud department.
They refused to follow up on claim to gather video (which I had to do) to prove the fraud and actually lied to make their liability to our company less. When it is a PIN transaction (she made up her own pin) they say they are only responsible for a limited time frame, regardless of circumstances.
Mind you, their fraud dept. has held me up at restaurants 1 hr. from my home for over 45 minutes trying to buy a business lunch, held me up at airports on $165.00 upgrade charges, yet failed to notice that someone on my acct. was visiting 4 diff. Costcos in a day at 45 mi. distances (who does that?), for example, and withdrawing cash each time, making 2 back-to-back charges in same store on different registers and other very obvious to even a layman reviewing acct, and also making substantial cash withdrawals a 10 year pattern has never shown at geographical locations I have never frequented.

Start with the cost. This particular branch fails to mention some of the costs you will incur when you decide to move your money around. I know that when I move money from my savings account to my checking, that leaves you with less money for making the bad investments that we had to bail you out from, but c'mon! Surely you should tell your customers that if you make more than 6 withdrawals from your savings account a month, it will cost them. How much, you ask? Who knows. Different banks charge different rates. Key Bank, for instance, charges $4 per infraction when you go over the limit of 6. US Bank charges $15 per infraction. Talking to a different branch manager, I was told that the decision lies with the manager, not the government. In any event, Barbara Grimard is the reason I will never bank with US Bank in the future.

I became a customer of US Bank because of unemployment insurance benefits for a short period of time. This was not a very good bank, no real services, and basically a card w/ auto payments made to it. From the experience of others, I guess that using the bank from which serves the Govt. is not a good idea.

The worst customer service I have received at ANY bank in a long time. When I told them I was a PLATINUM member with US Bank, they scoffed at that, got real snippy and said, "And so are all of WE Sir - so are all of we." Amazingly and shockingly rude and argumentative, not only to the street people that come in from the Courthouse across the way, but to their OWN CUSTOMERS as well. No excuse for this. Totally uncalled for and an embarassment

This is by far the WORST US Bank branch in the area! The head of the drive through tellers is a nightmare. On several occasions she would not accept checks I would try to cash/deposit for several stupid reasons. But as soon as I take the check to a different branch, no problem.
In summer the debit card policy for US Bank changed, and she informed me of this while I was doing my deposits. She then asked if I had time to come in and discuss the changes to the reward system, I did not, and she asked if she could call me after the weekend about it. I said yes..she never called, then two weeks later a US Bank Visa credit card appeared in my mail. I called the bank and sure enough she applied me for a credit card without my permission! I spoke with the bank manager, and the head teller was away on vacation, so he pretty much just said sorry an dthat was it. Horrible bank!

Albersons branch in Happy Valley, OR.
Poor customer service time after time with this branch refusing to cash or deposit checks for reasons unheard of! I was refused to cash my paycheck because it was too much but if I went to another branch they would do it right away! Just yesterday they refused to look up my account # because I forgot my bank card. Other branches do it! Ya think that this is the only branch by my house that they'd recognize me by now. Besides, don't all banks under the same corporation operate the same? I'd much rather drive an extra 15 minutes to get my stuff done. They don't deserve any stars for eating if you ask me. The only think that's good is location.

After opening an account at US Bank in Muliteo washington. This bank put a fraud charge on her account. All she did was forget to put her paycheck in the evelope for deposit. They lied to her and would not help her. My daughter was approved by Wells Fargo in Clinton Washington and opened a new account. She went in yesterday to deposit her paycheck and was told they had put a hold on her account. Not knowing about the hold she paid one of her bills by auto billing. Now she will have to deal with that. I went into the bank because my daughter was crying and a black man that lives not on the Island opened the door and asked me to leave. The girl my daughter was working with said snyde remarks as well after approveing her account. Wells fargo has the gall to do this to my daughter after being the no. 1 bank in forclousers and offenders in white collar crime along with US Bank. take your money out everyone on whidbey island and put it in a safe place like a credit union or small bank. My daughter did nothing wrong and now cannot get an account anywhere because of the mistake. They were not even willing to work with her to clear up the mistake made by the new managemnt in the muliteo branch of US bank. Picking on our children? The managment staff need to be fired.

I understand how the bank can screw up and double down to cover the error. This is what they do. Im filing a suit for breach of contract for failure to set up a TRUST ACCOUNT, AND then issuing to the court false statements and doing another thing to cover up the breach. scum bags.

This is by far the worst US Bank branch in terms of service and competence of employees. The Lakewood/Ralph's branch on Del Amo/Pioneer Blvd is 1000x better. The wait times are horrendous and the shocking incompetence of their staff in handling different things like processing an auto loan or offering out credit cards is truly tragic. This branch makes me wonder what the hell I am doing having my business checking and savings account with them. I have much better service in the other branches.

Well I finally closed my account today,"Hopefully". The manger who asked why I was closing my account I answered with a false reason due to I don't want to insult the guy to his face.He says to me ,"Oh your right down the street from here?" If he had any customer service skills he would have known I have been a customer of this branch for the past 12YEARS! The he says, Oh doesn't Dan work there too? Nope that's person who woks locally at another business similar to mine. Way to know your customer! Strike three coming up. As he lays down the remaining balance from my account in front of me he mispronounces my name for the last and final time. I can't believe they keep people like this working for them. He's in charge of your money! Good job at being a waste of space. Avoid this branch at all costs or you will be sorry. Advantis credit union rules!!!

Don't ever try to close an account with US Bank. I was told my account was closed but they never closed it and I was getting monthly charges to my account. To my understanding my account was closed for over three years and I ended up paying over $1500 due to their mistake by not closing the account. I personally spoke to the bankers and was told for a second time the account was closed and two weeks later I was getting charges from US Bank. After a third time speaking with a teller and them saying my account was closed I am still sent bills. US Bank has been a nightmare.

I have been a customer of this branch for 12 plus years. As a local business owner you would expect management to have answers to questions. They might even call you back (like they said they would) but they don't. I don't want some giant cheesy "HELLO!" from each and every teller behind the bullet proof glass, it is so obvious that this is policy and does come off as disingenuous. Skip the "Hello!" and give me basic good service without having to go back and forth with my statement asking what is this fee,what is that fee? How about the tellers have a bit more knowledge and be able to help you instead of a big smile masking stupidity? I would have left years ago if not for the convenience,it is just not worth it any longer ,the suffering must end. I can't even close my account without two or more trips. This place is painful on the brain. Advantis credit union had paid me almost a dollar in the first few weeks with them where with U.S. Bank I might see 40 cents all year. It's not much money but at least you get something for letting them use your money. I don't care about "Occupy" either. This bank just SUCKS !!!

We applied our HELOC this July. When we apply for it, we specifically ask the officer (Heather Ladner), is there any penalty of fee if we close the account earlier or we sell our house. We asked these question because:
1. We knew there is penalty at Bank of America for closing HELOC earlier. But we don't want to pay that fee.
2. We have already planned to sell our house in 5 months.
She answered "No fees, no penalty" to our question. She also said, you still can keep your HELOC account even you sell your house. The HELOC is always there for you to use for 10 years.
But after 4 months, we sold our house, US bank was asking us to pay $500 fee and we haven't even taken out a dime from the account. And we asked, is there anyway to keep the account? They said "No". If you don't own the property any more, you have to close the account.
If we knew this, we won't even apply for the HELOC from US bank.

The staff clearly dont know how to follow a customers request on closing the account. 2 account ive been told the closed. But nope the employee never closed the accounts and i was stuck paying interest in the end!
