Wait Time Is Unbelievable

Although the staff has always been friendly and polite, the wait time for everything is UNBELIEVABLY long.  I frequent the drive-through and the last few times the wait time has been a joke!  I thought the point of a drive-through was for quick transactions and fast service.  Not the case here!  I think the teller waits on one person at the drive through and then two from the inside line before returning to the drive-through.
Another time, I went in to one of their offices to close out some old accounts and, OVER AN HOUR LATER, it was completed.
We have been TD Bank customers for 18 years because we loved the personal and quality service we used to get.  Since the bank has been taken over, the personal service is still there but, maybe because they've cut staff, it's painfully slow to get any trasactions completed.
Also, last year I put a stop payment on a check and even received a note from the bank telling me the stop was in effect.  WRONG!  Apparently, the person I had written the check to had cashed it approx. 1 hour before and because their computer system updates were delayed, it allowed me to put the stop on the check.   Luckily, I had enough $ to cover it in my account.

I think the customer service at this branch is wonderful.
The Staff is friendly, accomadating & informative, not to mention extremely helpful. My family and our Business would not hesitate to recommend this bank to everyone.
The hours of operation are a giant plus as well.

Super experience.  We needed a preapproval letter for a mortgage and could not get any help at the banks where we have accounts - Wells Fargo and Sovereign - so we walked in as strangers to TD, got immediate and exceptional service with very professional staff and we actually got our letter AND moved our accounts there from Sovereign!

I made a mistake and wrote my monthly bills without doing the transfer of funds to cover them all. The folks at the bank had always been friendly and they knew I\'d never had any trouble before, but they REALLY came through for me. I did have to pay fees (as I should since it was my mistake) but they were able to eliminate some of them AND they helped me understand what bills got paid, which would most likely be presented again, and what providers I needed to call directly. They went above and beyond in helping me sort the mess out and that's the service that will keep me banking here.

I cannot believe how poor the service is in this bank. Despite having over $60,000 in my account, the bank rejected a $15,000 payment into my account from a client, TWICE, telling them my account was closed, as it was considered 'dormant'. When I tried to close my account and transfer my balance to my other bank, which is in Great Britain, they failed to do it because I did not have an ABA routing number. Banks in GB do not have these numbers. I told them this and gave them the GB alternative. They said I needed to send a letter with the ABA routing number on it. I told them again there are no ABA routing numbers in GB. They then asked again. The account is still not closed. Am I the only person who has asked this bank to transfer money to another country - surely not! I am losing the will to live!!!

This Bank took over my old bank and the changes began. There are charges for everything!!  The service is terribly slow. When you do get customer service to break away from conversations to be waited on, they continue the conversation with the other co-worker, be it work related or personal.

What a horrible environment-staff is not knowledgeable, they are not happy, the environment is sterile, gone are the personal touches of photos, team logos. A non-personable bank, rules are rigid, not interested in the value of long-standing customers. Constant turnover of staff, no one can tell you how to call the bank directly, they don't even list a phone number on-line.

There are a couple of individuals who do their best to be helpful in the environment of this awful bank, however they are stymied by its bureaucracy.

Don't get new accts here! Go somewhere else. Lots of fees, lots of waiting.

This is the worst bank around.  TD bank is horrible with overdraft fees.  They just keep adding them on and taking you money.  There is never an alert that the deposit you just made is not available.  They let you keep spending and never notify you that your account is in the negatiove numbers.  they promised to put an alert on my account and failed to follow through.

I have made 3 large deposits (and a number of smaller ones-which NEVER get lost) in the past four months and each of them have been LOST!  I am told that they were  never deposited, no record of the deposit.  I then give the teller the transaction number from the receipt and they are shocked!  I am told it will take 3-5 days to investigate-Investigate what?  I just gave you the transaction number. No apology, no empathy, no explanation-nothing!  Terrible customer service, terrible service period.  I have 2 accounts with another bank and NEVER have had an issue in the 20 years I have banked with the other finacial institution. Get it together TD Bank!

Head Business Manager is a Ditz.  She could care less about helping me run my business.  This bank is also full of fees.  Every 6 monthes they change a policy to your checking acount (minimums and days the minimum have to be in account). TD credit card services are also terrible. They show lack of appreciation for your patronage.  They alter address's and send bills to the wrong address then charge you the late fees!  STAY AWAY from TD BANK.

Been with the Westtown PA branch for two years.  I feel like part of the family.  I'm always met with a smiling face from the diverse and friendly staff. I particularly like the lovely English lady Erica on the drive thru and her partner Brian - they are always pleasant and kind and patient and make you feel better about your day - poor things, they have to work every holiday as well!

SERIOUSLY WORST BANK I HAVE EVER GOTTEN SERVICE FROM. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY APPALLING THEY MADE ME FEEL DUMB AND DID NOT HELP ME GET WHAT I NEEDED WHATSOEVER. I deposited a check to the ATM on a sunday at 1 am and got a receipt saying that I would have $100 available, and it turns out that I have 0 money available and will only be receiving any money whatsoever on Tuesday. And the first person I called (TD Bank on 5th and collins) were even ruder than the one on 126 and Biscayne, and not only did they tell me that there was absolutely nothing they could do to help me but they also told me that I would not have anything available until Wednesday! I HAVE GODDAMN BILLS TO PAY U PIECES OF SH** YOU COULD AT LEAST HAVE A NOTICE ON THE ATM THAT TELLS ME TO STOP WHAT IM FLIPPING DOING AND HOLD THAT CHECK SO I CAN DEPOSIT IT TO A TENDOR BECAUSE WHO THE F*** WOULD EVER WANT TO DEPOSIT MONEY ONLY TO RECEIVE IT 3 DAYS LATER?!?!?!?!?!

Wow. You would think the way the economy is bank would want to do buisness and be on their A game. Too many personal questions to open a buissness account, other banks not as personal. Really put you throgh the ringer on answereing questions and not willing to work with you. Many banks offer on line banking to set up an account this bank reguiers everyone to come in and set it up major hassel especially when buisness partner is out of state. oh and watch the hidden fees..

April 11, 2011

To whom it may concern;

This letter of complaint is being written to express my concern for how I was treated in your Garden City bank. On March 31, 2011, my partner and I opened an account in the Garden City bank for our newly registered business, “Pro Maintenance Service.”

I’m writing this letter because I don’t believe that I was treated fairly by one of your employees, Assistant Vice President of Sales and Service Manager, Antoinette Zaino.

To begin, we opened our account with a check in the amount of $4,400.00 dollars. The check, issued from the First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, was written to “Pro Plumbing and Heating” (Boiler maintenance); because our company also involves the cleaning and maintenance of boilers.

On March 31, 2011 the check was deposited in the new account, and we were informed that the check would clear within five days. On April 5th or 6th, 2011 we withdrew $500.00 dollars from the ATM, and also made other debit card purchases. On Wednesday April 6th, 2011 I went to the Garden City bank and attempted to withdraw two thousand dollars from the account to pay off a loan. The teller stated that he did not have enough one hundred dollar bills, and went to speak with Antoinette Zaino. I saw the teller speaking with Ms. Zaino, and I observed them pointing in my direction, but thought nothing of it.

Moments later, Ms. Zaino approached me to say that she checked the account and saw that the check used to open the account was not written properly. She went on to say that she wanted verification from the church that wrote the check, to verify that the check was valid. I contacted the church Administrator where the work was performed, and he spoke with Ms. Zaino, verifying that the check was indeed valid, and issued to me. After hearing this, Ms. Zaino told the Administrator that she wanted a letter from those signatures authorized to issue church checks. Apparently the Administrator told her that he was not privileged to provide her with that information, however, he would be willing to fax a letter within thirty minutes on the church letterhead verifying that the church issued the check.

On Wednesday April 6, 2011 I contacted the main office of TD bank and lodged a complaint, I asked to speak with a Supervisor and was told that a Ms. Stella Cook would contact me when she returned from the field. To date I have not heard from Ms. Cook. I later that day called the 800 number and spoke with a representative of Ms. Cook who, after hearing my complaint, contacted the Garden City branch and spoke with Ms. Zaino. She returned my call and said that Ms. Zaino indicated that she put a stop on the account, but that she would release the funds on the 17th of April, 2011.

The following day, Thursday the 7th of April, I received a call from Ms. Zaino stating that she would issue a bank check for the balance of the funds in the account. I thought this was a tactic to try and ridicule me since the church Administrator would have to alter his books to reflect this accounting change and issue a different amount for the completed work. I later contacted the church Administrator who informed me that the $4,400.00 dollars had been withdrawn from the church account, and he asked why the bank was trying to cause such an accounting headache for his church. He said that the work was completed; the vendor paid, therefore, the business concluded.

As a businessman and a Pastor of a large church in the Queens area, I am complaining about the treatment I received at the hands of Ms. Zaino at the Garden City Branch. I don’t believe that the treatment I received was warranted, after all, the check cleared, I verified that the check was legitimately issued to my company, and I was able to use over five hundred dollars of the money in the account.

I believe that this matter could have been handled differently, but I feel that I was targeted unfairly from the time I entered the bank and requested the withdrawal from my account needed to repay a loan.

On Sunday April 10, 2011at the conclusion of church services, I announced to my members what transpired at TD bank, and informed all my members that they should change their bank to one where they would be treated fairly. I also issued a bulletin to the organization to which I am affiliated, serving over 6.5 million Christians nationwide, along with all one hundred and sixty two Bishops, of how I was treated. I requested that they e-mail all their members and post this notice on all church bulletin boards.

In conclusion, I am asking for the immediate release of my legally obtained business funds in the form of cash or a certified bank check. Anything short of this, I will file a complaint with the State Banking Commission and the Better Business Bureau. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

                                                Sincerely,

                                                Richard Hyatt

I went yesterday to deposit cash and gave the teller my bank card to verify my account in the drive through. I get my money deposited only to find out when I went to purchase dinner my card was declined. Not only did she deposit my money into my account but she CLOSED OUT MY ACCOUNT. I had to go to another TD bank get my account reopened as well as have another card printed.

DO NOT GO HERE!

I drive up and present my check and car payment stub on Saturday Morning 4/2/11.  I get a receipt and go to the car dealer to consider trading in our car.  We call TD to get a 10 day payout of the Riverside loan we initiated in 2008 and discovered good news.  We were nearly finished.  We told them we had made the April payment and they had the check.  The TD customer service person couldn't find our account using the account number.  Had to use social security #.  They made an electronic payment and processed it at that time without our approval or knowledge that made my checking account go OVERDRAFT BY 4/6 WHEN THE PAYMENT CLEARED MY Wachovia account.  Do the banks design things to get messed up so they can collect more fees?  What is the problem.  TD gets paid twice for a non-delinquent loan and I get screwed!  Not on my watch!  Eye Witness News - here I come!
