I opened an account here a few months ago and had been dealing with one young lady who was friendly and polite, but today I encountered the rest of the staff. All three were chewing gum while waiting on customers - me in the lobby and one person in the drive-through. The young lady who waited on me today did not know how to refill a pre-paid VISA card and the other teller didn't do much to assist her or me. Only after about 15-20 minutes did the other teller say I could have done it myself online to save the refill fee. Not even an apology for something that should have taken a couple of minutes at the most. I needed a document notarized so they had me wait for a young guy who was apparently the branch manager. He came in from lunch and got on the phone. When he got off the phone he came out of his office to help me. No introduction, no greeting, did not even offer me a seat. I realized he had no manners so I just helped myself to a seat then. He came across as quite arrogant and full of himself. He said he didn't think he could notarize my document. He looked it up in his computer and was quite condescending when he told me it was a legal document - as if I didn't know that? This young guy was quite impressed with himself - looks to be about 16 years old - and has very poor customer relations skills. He decided he could notarize my document and then became argumentative for some reason. I advised him as a senior citizen that it is not a good practice to argue with customers or to talk down to them. He was in my estimation quite immature and quite unprofessional. I don't know how this bank stays in business. I will be moving my account. Al three of these young persons would be fired if this were my bank, unless they could significantly change the way they interact with customers and behave like professionals working in a bank.

Terrible customer service. I opened and funded an account online. I attempted to enter all password info to double check. I was advised there was an issue and to call CS, which I did. They advise me that I would have to go into local branch to correct issue , which I did. The issue was my ssn, I think. Two months later, I attempted to go online again to fund account . Same issue, unable to access. Called CS again as directed. Once again directed to go to local branch. ( now I'm upset). Went to local branch, initially they were unable to find me anywhere in the system. Once they eventually located me, it was discovered my account had been closed on what appear to be the very same day I went in and provided my ssn and driver's license to initially correct the issue. In addition,I never received my opening proceeds. To make a long story short, I will never patronize this bank again nor would I recommend to friends or family members as we were all looking for another home bank. Staff at banks were friendly. CS 800# were useless and I found to be rude.

Regions Bank employees LOOK for ways to NOT help you or their customers. Every answer to a question begins with..." Well i don't think they can do that." Who is "they" and why are you here if you can't help me with anything? Regions is programmed to NOT help YOU and YOU are a BOTHER to THEM. Regions looks for ways or excuses to NOT help you. Went to a Regions branch that was open on Saturday. I asked about a hold on a State Farm Insurance check they had deferred for 14 days.(this was day 10) After waiting about 45 minutes, the little girl said I would have to go to my "home branch" of Essen Lane, but they are not open today and did I want their phone number. First of all, I did not know I had a home branch, Second, why would I want their number if they are closed. So I waited till Monday to go to my "home branch". Again the customer service girl could not help and gave lame excuses why "they" could not help. I asked for the manager, but to my surprise, she was in a meeting. I called the branch asking for the manager 3 times, still no call back (4 days later).

I travel extensively and make purchases from multiple vendors from multiple states at trade shows. Inevitably, the fraud department flags my Visa check card....then I am stuck because there is no way to contact either their fraud department or to speak to a "real, live person" outside of standard banking hours. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I have tried to prevent this by going by my home branch on my way out of town and letting them know the situation...they state there is nothing they can do to prevent my card being shut down. I have been stuck having to sleep in my car and having to borrow cash from friends for fuel because they have no 24/7 customer service. As large an organization as Regions/Morgan Keegan is, there is no excuse for them not to have customer support around the clock, 365 days a year. On the positive side, the employees at my home branch in Ooltewah, TN are always friendly, polite, and courteous.

I got help from Peter, he was nothing but honest about me getting a loan and the steps that I would make and if it would be a good or bad idea. I have never had a an account with Regions Bank, however this "Motley Crew" of people have some how linked my information with my father's and is now sending me delinquent letters saying I owe them money for accounts opened in 2006. I spoke to several individuals and even visit the branch that the accounts originated from to provide them with my ID and they are still so incompetent. The signatures on the accounts don't match mine and my father has even told them those are his accounts and they still are trying to hold me responsible for these accounts that I never had. At one point they were sending notices to my parents home, but has now all of sudden start sending me notices. I have been living at the same location for over 15 years. I hadn't lived with my parents since 1998. No my father never used my information, but Regions little tiny self of a bank is coming after me. I am not the one to sew, but, I promise you Regions, when I get done sewing your establishments, I will own you and you can take that to the bank.

i have banked with Regions since they opened in FL, and AmSouth prior to them. i love the people in my branch. however, i dislike tremendously, the new online bill pay format. because of the new way we request which account the bill should be paid from i have bounced my mortgage draft!!! that has never happened before. the other new feature i dislike tremendously is that checks are not posted on my account until they are cashed. i feel like i'm back in the 20th Century when i had to keep a manual check register. unfortunately, i am changing to Wells Fargo because they post checks to the account as soon as they are requested.

Worst treatment ever by a bank. Every employee I've come in contact at this branch is a moron. I can't remember the Managers name, it was a female, extremely rude and unprofessional.
After my wife's open heart surgery, I stopped in at the Milton branch to inquire about our settlement check. After waiting 30 minutes, the Manager finally came out to greet me. I explained my frustration in waiting while she sat in her office with no customers or calls. At that point she stated I can find another bank to do business with if I don't like the way they do it there. I walked out, went down to Eglin Credit Union in Crestview and opened an account with them. Then I drove back to the Milton Regions and closed all our accounts!
At least I don't feel alone after scrolling through the comments. It seems like not only this branch but all Regions Banks cry out for real direction.

Regions has very interesting and shady business practices. They hold a poor reputation overall. Type in 'Regions Bank complaints' or 'Regions Bank is horrible' on Google and you will see exactly what I am talking about. This particular location in Milton is a joke. All the tellers are available when no customers are around. Yet Friday or any other time when it gets busy, there is one lobby teller and one drive thru teller available while the managers sit around. Horrible treatment toward small business owners, don't even bother with this branch. They seem to do whatever possible to make small business owners suffer, not pro business at all. Regions Bank is definitely pro fees. Funny how Regions needed American taxpayer bailouts or TARP, but they treat customers poorly.
The management at the Milton branch is extremely unprofessional and should immediately be terminated or at least be required to take extensive customer service training classes.
Regions will also hold guaranteed funds up to 14 days or more before releasing them, longer than any other bank. They will send a letter stating that the bank will reimburse any fees acrued from holding funds, yet when you go into the branch the managers claim they can't do anything about the fees. However the call center customer service reps can, how a rep has more power and better customer service skills than a branch manager is beyond me.
Regions is way behind in most categories and in general close to last in customer satisfaction. Online pay is garbage, and you have to call them to get proof of payment receipt. They inform you at that time it may take 24-48 hours to fax a piece of paper. We are still waiting, it's been four days. Regions is a struggling bank and the Milton FL branch mirrors the overall perception the public feels about Regions as a whole. We are closing our business and personal accounts with them. I can't type it any better myself, fanned and faved. Milton Regions is worse than horrible, underside of a worn out dumpster shoe is a better descriptor of the dirty tactics these people play. Waiting for a buyout of this bank, can't happen soon enough.
One question to Regions, do you purposely put watered down idiots in management positions? I think McDonalds screens their management team better.

Worse bank ever. Rude and shady. They offer a ready advance up to $500. Problem is, They swiped the while $550 ($50 interest) but have not made it available for me to get back and its been 4 days now! I need that money to live. Also, the lady at my branch called me and harassed me for days to let her send me a credit card through which I finally agreed and I asked her if I was already approved. I told her I did not want my credit ran if I was not pre approved. She assured me I was, just received the letter stating I was denied. Liars

This bank has customers who are perpetrating a scam for cash from seniors by all alleging they have won cash if they forward money to their account to receive the money but there is no money other then the money being sent by the fraud victims.....the bank probably gets a share of the money scammed

I have had an account with Regions (and formerly AmSouth) for over 12 years, never had a check that I have deposited come back for any reason (business account) Recently,I made a deposit of a check of almost 32,000. They put the check on hold for almost two weeks. I called the bank that the check was drawn on and the check had cleared that account the week before so I went into the bank to get the funds released. Much to my dismay after I left they put all of my funds on hold some $57,000. I guess they didn't like what I said to them about them using my money to make money for a time frame way past the time the check had cleared. This Lake Mary branch has some of the most unprofessional tellers and branch management that I have ever encountered. I asked to speak to the branch manager and was told by one teller her car was still there and then in a maatter of seconds another girl comes from the back and tells me the branch manager was at lunch. Once these funds have been released I am moving my account. THESE PEOPLE ARE AWFUL TO DO BUSINESS WITH, TAKE YOUR ACCOUNTS ELSEWHERE WHERE YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE A CUSTOMER, INSTEAD OF A NUISANCE TO THEM.

These people are thieves. The federal law states you CANNOT charge an overdraft fee for debit card purchases. Well, they do. Even though I have opted out. When I went in to complain, I was told their computer was slow and it was my fault. So they charged me $108 for two $3 charges. After filing a complaint with the federal reserve, Regions sent me a letter saying I opted out of this service. Even though I was NEVER in it. After we got our money back from the bank I was told by a customer service rep, we need to watch our account, because and I quote" we never give money back and we will get it from you again"Â Â have since closed that account. And are much happier at Gulf Coast.

4 times now I have had uncalled-for overdraft transactions that have occurred at this specific banks fault. It's ridiculous! And it takes them days and days to fix my account, put the money back in it to where I can make day to day purchases. I'm ready to switch, going in the morning, I would not recommend this bank to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

I am shocked to see any negative comments about this bank! This is by far the best bank I have dealt with. Anne is an absolutely outstanding banker there. I've called her on many occasions asking her to open an account, give us a loan, transfer funds, etc. and she just handles it! Banking with Regions makes doing business easy.

I suspect the level of customer service is in direct correlation to the size and number of your bank account(s). The more money you have with them, the more the bank's employees will bend over backwards to fix problems/offer solutions. Sadly, most banks use this business model. They could care less how long you have been with the bank or what troubles you may be experiencing. The only care about the color green.

I once thought the Regions was a rip off until I got to know the people inside.
At one time they offered no solutions to my problems at all.
However, the current staff July 2013 helped me solve some problems I was having.
Call the branch and ask to speak the manager or assistant.
Use the people there.

AVOID this bank!!!! They are thieves! I will NEVER do business with Regions again! I deposited a $1000 check in my landlord's account. When I checked my account the next day, there was an $1800 debit. I sent my husband to Regions with a printed copy of the check where it is clearly written "one thousand" to get our money back. First, the teller said there was no acct holder with the name of the landlord. He had the deposit receipt with him and told her this is the acct. After about 15 mins, she finds the acct and says he would have to see a manager to get it corrected. The manager then tells him that the bank would have to call the landlord to make sure the amount was really supposed to only be $1000 and not $1800. First of all, who the hell cares what the landlord says it "supposed" to be?! The deposit should be made for the amount the check is written for! But he called the landlord and of course landlord confirms only $1000. They debit the landlord's acct for the $800 and tell my husband it will take 24-48 hrs to go back into our acct. 36 hrs later its still not there. He goes back and the manager says he needs to go to our bank to have the problem fixed...our bank didn't make the mistake! The idiotic regions teller did, But he goes to our bank anyways and they report that Regions did not issue any refund that they can see, so our bank rep calls Regions customer service and explains everything that happened and the rep said the original time frame of 24-48 hrs was incorrect and it would take 3-5 business days. 7 business days later we still didn't have the $800 back. My husband goes back to Regions again and now they say they can't refund the money without having a conference call with the landlord who has nothing to do with it, and they had already debited his acct 7 days earlier. They didn't give us our money back even though it was the teller's mistake. They never apologized one time and thank God we use an amazing bank (AL Credit Union) bc they credited our acct with the $800 and is now pursuing Regions for the money so we don't have to deal with them. Regions tellers and employees are completely incompetent and that bank should be out out of business. I am calling the better business bureau tomorrow on those crooks!!! Save yourself the hassle and bank somewhere else.

Your website says your drIve thru is open till 5 pm mon thru friday , i drove 14 miles , was at your drive thru at 4:40 pm , and it was closed . Very irritating !! You need to change the time it states so people like myself won't drive out of the way assuming your hrs are what is stated . On your website . Not a good way to do business .

I have never experienced the horrible treatment I received when I banked at Regions. Every teller was rude every single time I ever went in. (I work in customer service, and truly, nothing is more important to a business in my opinion.) Once, a teller walked out in-between two cars and wasn't looking and I slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting her. She in turn cursed me out in the parking lot, even after I sincerely apologized! The branch manager the most rude to me; she would even close her window after I stood and waited 10 minutes in line. One day I asked her a question and she said I would have to wait until she was done eating lunch. (At 10 a.m.) The final straw was when I broke down and called the Regions 1-800# to see if they could help. I told the 1-800 lady the trouble I had been having with the rude tellers and branch manager. She said, "Have you thought about sticking up for yourself? Maybe you should try that." I said, "That is the reason why I'm calling you!" She responded, "Tell the branch manager this. Don't tell me." I was astounded...totally floored. That was it. I went to withdraw all of my money from the bank the very next day. They said I would have to wait 30-45 minutes for 'the vault' to open!! One more time to stick it to me. I sat and waited the 30 damn minutes. I will never, ever recommend Regions to even my worst enemy. I feel so sorry for everyone who banks with them. There is absolutely no excuse for bad customer service, especially for someone who always comes inside to do their banking with a smile on their face. It still hurts my feelings when I think about how hateful they were.

I recently met with a VP in the Urbandale office of Regions Bank. I was told that I finally (after the whole bankruptcy process) was in a position with my credit to buy a house. My wife and I spent time with a realtor looking at houses, trying to find the perfect home. When we finally did that, this guy told us that he couldn't get my financing approved after all. First it was I had too much debt, so I worked that problem out. Then it was the loan to income ratio was too high. But, after including my annual bonuses, everything was good to go and I'd be meeting him that afternoon to get the approval letter. But wait, not even 10 minutes later, he sent my wife an email stating that he'd made a mistake reviewing my bankruptcy dates, and that I was not eligible for a loan for another month. Then he had a thought that he could push this thru if my bankruptcy was caused through no fault of my own. Well, since I had had a major surgery, and shortly after I found that my then wife had not paid any bills for months and our house was behind over $6000, thru NO FAULT OF MINE. But NOPE, this wasn't good enough for the powers that be at Regions, and ultimately I'm being told now, after a purchase agreement was signed, offer accepted and everything else being in-line that I have to wait till July. ONE MONTH! I will lose the house that I picked if it's not closed on by June 28, and may lose my earnest money all because this guy couldn't do his job adequately enough to make sure everything was truly in order before giving me the go ahead to find a house. While a month isn't and shouldn't be too much to bear, the mental and emotional roller coaster that this guy has had me on has drained me. How can someone have "Vice President" next to their name and be so clueless as to what their job ACTUALLY is? This is a ridiculous situation and I suggest you avoid using this company for anything! Think I'm alone in this? I challenge you to find one positive piece of feedback out there!

Watch your money, I have battled with them for years, filed with the Federal Reserve and the BBB only to have my complaint unsolved and closed. The old saying "Money talks and Bullsh_t walks" I am in the process of closing my accounts with them after 10 yrs, I'm tired of them making their own rules as they go along..It has taken me a while to do this because we have all our checks directly deposited, and we have automatic bill pay..I suggest to anyone who is looking to deal with this bank to turn around and RUN...THEY ARE HEARTLESS AND RIP-OFFS!!!
by BertButt33 2013-06-21 20:30:49
I made a deposit with this bank and regions at 2800 Lamar and I counted my money more than once to be sure what I deposit and the wait was to long and after waiting the teller comes and tell me I gave her lesser than what my deposit slip said another teller claims to count her whole register down and to my knowledge he wasnt a manger so I'm getting the run around right now about when the branch manger will be back at her location because I feel they need to see how improper the transaction went and why it took her so long to let me no it was short I no people make mistakes but it takes a real person to deal with their wrong doings I hate to be brushed off and banks make so many errors that it's becoming rediculous so much money being stolen from others because of this crocked world we live in!!!
