old lien on our house 42 years ago

went to get equity loan lien still on house 42 years later ....trevose fed. savings and loan, was bought by horizon financial, neither removed the lien,       horizon, like thousands others were bought and sold, mean-while this lien followed us for 42 years...AND WE DID N O T KNOW IT. PLEASE HELP!!!!
