Excellent in all cases.  On my first visit after the bank's
name change, I noticed a new lady at the drive thru window.  
I went home and discussed with my wife, that if the bank
changed employees. as well as owners, that I think we should change banks. She agreed, but we found out the lady
that was normally there was sick that day. Wiyhout a doubt
that would happen because we totally trust them.

I have banked with three different banks over 25 years, SONA has definitely exceeded MY EXPECTATIONS WITH MY PERSONAL AND BUSINESS ACCOUNT.  The fact that I can walk in the door and they know me by first name and are friendly and always happy, I wouldn't trade that for anything.  At the bigger branches the customer service does not match up to Sonas.

Having a business and personal and savings here, I would suggest this bank to anyone in the tidewater area because they have branches in Richmond & the Northern Neck.

I have a savings account here, my son has a savings account here and I use their CDs. A friend took out a business loan with SONA and found the experience smooth. I enjoy the family atmosphere. My savings accounts are not robust but the staff treats me very well. They know me by name- and that means a lot! I even get a card on my birthday!! I think this is the most friendly bank in the area.

 I j lust feel like this is a very unprofessional bank. I've been baking here for nearly three years and I always have to deposit my money. I don't make a lot I'm mostly a stay at home With my child but everytime I go to Sona I have to deposit my entire paycheck because they say I don't have enough to cover it. This was never a problem back in my home state at either of the banks that I used to bank at especially after a few years of being a customer. Every other bank that I've been too will allow you, after they get to know you , to withdraw some money as long as you're depositing more than you're taking out of the check. But here they don't care if you don't have the money to cover it you don't get to withdraw anything from your check. I don't get it I don't feel like I'm a valued customer and soon I will have a very large check coming but I don't know that I trust this bank with that large of amount of money. I've also never had a problem with my employers check clearing in 1 day until I started banking with Sona. For some reason only part of my check clears and it takes two to three days to clear the entire thing and I am talking only a few hundred dollar. I don't feel like they value their customers, the building is old and smells like cigarettes because everybody there smokes. I'm thinking I will probably close my account or open another one if I start making more money because this is ridiculous.  I also all of a sudden got a call from one of the managers that my card has been compromised so they cancelled it and we're sending me a new one I have called over and over again to see what exactly happened and still haven't gotten any answers. Apparently there was no withdraws but somehow my card was compromised.I'm leery because I've heard this happens a lot with this bank which I didn't find out till after I had signed up with them. Save your money for the more professional banks that will take the time to get to know you and work with you.
