after being a customer with chase, and their predecessors, for  4 decades we are terminating ALL our accounts...

we needed some simple papers notarized, an attorney fee agreement on a court case for which we are co-plaintiffs with another party. we made prior arrangements with michael, by phone, BEFORE having the other party drive 20 plus miles to our bank where we have gotten papers notarized before.  michael assured us that evelyn would take care of the signatures and confirmed that we were bank customers.

once the other party got to the bank, evelyn called us at home (my husband is ill and did not want to go in to the bank and share a quite nasty "summer cold")  she said she did not "know us". my husband then gave her michael's name, the details of our prior phone contact, the names of other bank employees there who we DO deal with on a regular basis and who do know us WELL and offered anything else she might need. after this she agreed to notarize the ONE signature as long as the other party had a valid driver's licence with his signature (which he did).

AGAIN after that second conversation and agreement to notarize the papers (a simple contract, not even a sensitive document) she changed her mind yet again and refused to notarize the papers. she did not  have the courtesy to call us and tell us so we could appeal to her superior, come in to the bank ourselves or work out other arrangements.  she flatly refused, mentioning to the other party that also they were not an account holder. (perhaps she was trying to get him to open an account, who knows???) he did also offer to pay for the services if that was what she needed.

this person had driven 20 miles to go to our bank for this express purpose, which is why we called in advance to make arrangements, and were told everything was in order...TWO TIMES.  now we are left with un-notarized paperwork we needed to have first thing monday morning and at least two additional 20 mile drives to complete the process before then...

my husband is at the bank now, withdrawing our money, closing all accounts AND exposing everyone to his very nasty summer cold.  

this is not not the first time this bank has given us grief.  they harassed us with calls at home trying to get us to invest money even though each time my husband told them that HE was a licensed investment advisor with over 40 years of investment experience and would be handling our investments himself. in spite of this, they still called and called us with their solicitations.

there are other inconveniences we have experienced, similar to complaints mentioned in other reviews here. they just don't care about the little guy, oh, and EVERYONE is a little guy to them!  doesn't matter how much money you have.  even if you are an upstanding respected member of the community like my husband who has recieved civic awards for his community service over his lifetime.

my husband will miss the tellers, they are all very pleasant and always brightened his days when he made deposits.  we have NO complaint with the sweet and cheerful tellers! :(

Yesterday June 22 After waiting on line for ten Minutes I was told by the teller that they did not have two rolls of quarters and that I should have a seat until one of the officers could get change out of the vault once they had some free time.
Last Month I stopped in to take a withdrawal from my IRA. I was told that I would have to go to a branch which had an IRA agent. Huh?
As Wells Fargo always has rolls of quarters, and allows you to make withdrawals from your acct at any branch. I will move my accounts there.

I have had a relationship with this Bank and all of its predecessors since 1984. The service at the Branch gets worse by the week.  No one will answer a simple question unless you sit down with a "Banking Specialist" ie Salesman that wants to waste your time and sell you products.
Today the Manage refused check deposits that were in the name of my Trust.  They have accepted these for over four years... NOT Today.  I was told to open a Trust acct with them...NOT ON YOUR LIFE>

This branch happens to be 3 mintes from my home! But I drive to 44th street in Thomas or at the Biltmore. No one is friendly, one maybe two windows are open with alot of customers always waiting! I have given this branch several chances to see if it would improve but NO chance! Trust me, I have shared my thoughts with the employess.

I've never been inclined to write a review about any service but this branch is so frustrating to deal with that i figured I would issue the warning.  Dont know what happened when they moved across the parking lot but the people, layout, wait time, etc are all poor.  I avoid this location as best I can even though it is most convenient.

I was forced into chase with the hostile takeover they did last year.  Since their takeover, I have repeatedly been treated as less than human at the Chase branch by me.  The branch manager there had lied directly to me about Chase's policies stating it takes a full business day to credit a deposit to an account.   When I tried to questioned her on it, she threatened to have throw me out of the branch for 'making a scene'.  As a result, I took my business to a different Chase branch up north, and there I was treated with kindness and respect, and my money was deposited that same day.  I was with the same branch when it was WaMu for 15 years, and I will never return after the way I've been treated.  This is only one of many incidents, it just happened to be the final straw... Credit Unions here I come!

While the staff here is very friendly, there is a major problem. After checks are cleared by our employeer the bank is not saying that they are deposited. I called to see is the check had cleared and the bank said it had so I went out to Wal-Mart and Kroger to buy a few things and the bank statement came in the mail with overdraft fees for that trip. Also, we were set up on a automatic withdraw for our gas payment and used over the phone payments for other utilities.When the statement came in I knew there would be 2 overdraft fees for these over the phone bills but I did not expect 6. Each over the phone payment took out the 2 fees for the process seperately. Another problem is $250 missing from our account. We went to the bank to solve this issue with our reciets and deposit slips and though the prof was all there that the were at fault NOTHING was done about it. Needless to say we switched banks and are currently with City bank with no problems what-so-ever. Save yourself the trouble and don't bank with Chase!!!

I have recently moved to fort myers and I guess if you're an older person that has been going there for a long time, mediocrity is acceptable and people feel what is the use of complaining. VERY unfriendly staff. There is an older woman blond hair and customer service is not in her vocabulary....To make it worse, this is the ONLY branch to go to in that area if you need a person to person transaction, there is no drive up tellers just two people while the line reaches the door. You guys either need to open another branch or make your staff more people friendly...I can put my money in a box at home, I don't need to spend money on gas to be treated like crap....Shame on you Chase!By the way, staff in the North Miami branch is superb!!!!!!

My name is Rowe. Each and every time I entered the Church Ave Branch (Chase Bank)the lines are long and they are 2 Bank Tellers working. The Other stations are empty. The lines are so long that they protrude almost to the ATM area. I have resided in Westchester  and Rockland County. I have compared the branches in Yonkers NY, Rockland NY, or other locations. The church ave branch located brooklyn NY is the worse; when it comes to customer service  PERIOD. I thought the service would have gotten a little better when chase took over from Washington Mut., but I was completely wrong.. Chase should do something  to cure the waiting time..

Always check all your documents there!!Mistake was made thru one of the banker,of course she kept switching the version what really happend.Took long time to get the manager  because obviously the banker didnt want to get in trouble.I lost $400 and the banker goes home with a smile on her face ,will not even get warning.But I guess what goes around comes around!!!!

This bank has not twice, but three times messed up my deposit information (date, have deposit slip to prove it) and have held my checks AFTER THEY HAVE CLEARED IN THE CHECK HOLDERS BANK (FOR OVER 10 DAYS)! Twice! Then went ahead and charged me for ISF fees. Hmmmm. Makes you think about just what else they'll do for money. KEEP A GOOD EYE ON YOUR ACCOUNT!
