The staff there is so incompetent and rude, it's unbelievable that Chase hires such people. A banker named Gabrielle made so many mistakes handling the closing of my account that I had to sit and wait 1/2 hour for another banker to correct it, then after that go to another branch to square things away.
Both these employees did not admit their mistake and treated me very rudely. Then when I complained to the manager Barbara, she hung up on me! So I guess it's the branch policy to be rude to customers. I will take my money and business somewhere else from now on.

Rude, Rude, Rude! I have been banking with Chase/WaMu at this location for the past 5+ years and finally had enough. During the past few years I have overheard many conversations between employees and lets just say that if they do not like you they will find a way to charge you fees. Enough is enough. Their ability to 'charge or not charge' fees has gone to their heads.

I applied for a refi on my 80K Chase mortgage on November 6th 2010. I had a great rate loacked until January 21st 2011. I was told that an appraiser would contact me within a week. After several verbal inquiries with no results, I finally made a written inquiry after hearing nothing for over a month. Finally a week later an appraiser contacted me saying that he was asked to rush an apraisal inspection. I scheduled it for the following day. About two more weeks go by and I am suddenly bombarded with lengthy inquiries after inquiries. Most of them redundantly asked and answered. I wrote and submitted documentation to the tune of about 35 pages of supporting docuements and still the same repetitive questions continued. Incredibly, the originating loan officer told me a few days before the expiration of my rate lock that I would have to pay a fee of over $300.00 to extend the rate. She told me she would speak to a supervisor to see if I could be granted a concession. Subsequently, after I continued to be bombarded with many ridiculous and insurmountable inquiries that I finally surrendered the hope of refinancing the mortgage a couple days before the one week extension was about to expire. The last hurdle was one totally out of my control... proof that my HOA had flood insurance for structures that were not even applicable to my property. My HOA didn't have it. One year before when i obtained the mortgage, I wondered why that question wasn't asked? However, when they stand to lose 40K in interest, it suddenly becomes a major concern. I have more than three times the flood coverage on my home required to cover the mortgage. What really upset me is that almost three months was wasted when I could have gone to another institutution that was willing to give me the loan. By the way my credit score and credit history are impeccable and my income is twice the mortgage amount. I would never recommend anyone to do business with Chase Bank. I felt like I was a circus dog jumping through hoops to get this loan> I think it was dispicable that I lost the rate promised and now rates are significantly hight.

i have been with chase bank for quite a while. i had all my business and personal accounts with them and maintained three times the minimum average balance they require to keep your accounts for free on their business accounts.
A month ago i decided to open a credit card with them and to keep everything in one roof as i wanted to establish my relationship with my bank.
I got the first letter of their underwriters with a denial. Reason? too many inquiries. i asked to review my establishment and relationship with the bank and based on that to determine if i am still eligible for some sort of a credit card. Remarkable to say that my credit score is over 700 and i have an established credit going back 4 years prior to the date i applied with them.
So the second review comes around a week later with another denial for the same reason. I asked to get a copy of my credit report as per the law states, so i did and i was told that i had many inquiries on my credit report that would not allow me to get approved. As i went through my credit report, SURPRISELY I FOUND OUT THAT THESE INQUIRIES THEY WERE REFERRING TO WERE NOT EVEN CREDIT INQUIRIES BUT CREDIT MONITORING INQUIRIES INSTEAD!!! i had signed up last year to one of those credit monitoring services to monitor my credit report. Every month they hit your credit twice to generate a full report. This was not even a full hard inquiry on my credit report so then i sent another review and a week later i got another denial for the same reason.
That was it.. i went to the local chase branch today, and asked to close all my accounts. I had 2 business accounts checking and saving and 3 personal checking accounts.
It sounds to be that its impossible to get a credit line with chase, and the most frustrating of all is that they were GIVING ME SUCH A HASSLE FOR NOTHING!! My credit score is excellent and i never missed a payment.
Total frustration and disappointment. I will NEVER NEVER AGAIN go with chase and i will not refer anyone to them as i used to do.

My story starts with a notification on my mortgage statement that my escrow account payment went up over $100/month. After calling Chase to find out what was going on I found out they paid my entire condo association's homeowners insurance. They told me this was they way my mortgage was set up. Well, one call to my condo assoc's insurance agent cleared up that this was a huge mistake on Chase's part as the agent had never heard of anything. He also had some choice words about Chases competency. After 2 calls to Chase and a few months going by, nothing so I decided to go to the local branch in Oconomowoc, WI to talk face to face with someone. All they did was call the same 800 number I had been calling. They even put me on the phone to explain the situation. All the while I was on hold, they kept trying to get me to sign up for one of their credit cards, to the point of calling over a manager or VP to talk to me. Needless to say, the problem still wasn't fixed and I had to call them once again. Finally after about 4 months the problem was taken care of. During this I closed all my Chase accounts and thank god mortgage rates came down and I was able to refinance and get my mortgage away from them. My mortgage broker is well aware they will lose by business if they sell it back to Chase.

I went to the branch on Corbin street in Northridge CA because Chase has been taking money from my savings account. I have had this happen a few times before without reason and the money was refunded to me, no big deal, although I find it extremely annoying and suspicious. I asked the teller who told me I had to speak with an associate. I looked over to see a man helping someone and a woman who appeared to be doing, well, nothing. So I asked her, "excuse me would you be able to help me?" to which she snobbishly replied "I GUESS so" without even turning to look at me. I explained the situation to her and before I could mention that it's not the first time this has happened she snapped back at me with short answers, major attitude, rolling her eyes and speaking to me as if I were an idiot. She then gave an excuse as to why money was being taken from my savings, stating the same thing over and over as if I didn't get it the first ten times. It was clear her motive was just to get me to shut up and leave. I logged on to my account from my phone in front of her and began to review my recent account activity and how it did not make sense, dumbfounded, she retreated to "speak to her manager". Sitting ten feet away, I heard them BOTH talking about me once again as if I was stupid, I couldn't believe these women were gossiping like a bunch of middle schoolers. Minutes later she returned and threw down a stack of papers and said "ok my manager will refund the money and here is information on the rules and regulations of the account you have, just-so-you-know". I proceeded to tell her I'm very aware of the account I have and in no way does it involve these unauthorized deductions without any reason, it's a free account which means no fees as long as I keep a minimum balance which I had more than enough. The money was refunded because I was right, otherwise she'd have more to show than a 'rules and regulations' packet which I did not take seeing as she obviously needs it more than I. I'm over dealing with suspicious activity in my accounts and poor customer service from this bank and I have been looking to take my money elsewhere I suggest everyone do the same. As for anyone who banks at this branch, be ware of this incompetent employee LUZ with her stink eye and rotten attitude, she ought to go back to ihop and learn basic customer service skills. I don't know who these people think they are treating customers like dirt but it seems to be building a bad reputation for Chase and it's really rather disgusting to say the least.

The tellers at this bank are very sweet. The front end is run well.
BUT THE MORTGAGE DEPARTMENT IS NOT. BAY RIDGE BEWARE OF GETTING YOUR MORTGAGE AT THIS BANK.
We did our mortgage through Chase because we banked with them already. We used the 86th Street Branch on 5th Avenue in Brooklyn 11209.
- Associates are poorly trained.
- Associate requested our credit reports twice (this would lower anyone's credit report)
- We were Denied RESPA documents (in the first 3 days, you should receive paperwork)
- Management is hostile, unresponsive and gives excuses (it's the computer's fault)
- Associate told our seller's broker our personal information
- Vice President ignores e-mail and when she does use e-mail she does not use her title. She had very little knowledge of the mistakes going on at this branch.
- Mortgage took over 3 months. As buyers we put more than $200,000 down, had high credit scores, a lot of collateral and stable city jobs for many years. We were ideal candidates who were raked through the mud and treated poorly at this bank.
- Bank with a bank where the associates are kind and care about their jobs. In this age, customer service should be top notch and no one should have to wait more than days for an e-mail response. Associates at this bank do not answer e-mail for over a week on most occasions.

I absolutely love my chase bank. They have been nothing but helpful. I have opened my daughters accounts there and thought the service was tremendous, we were never pushed to open something that we did not want or products were not pushed on us. The people especially the manager remembers my name everytime I walk in and I don't walk in alot, I am always impressed by that. They are very friendly and I like seeing the same faces year after year. Unlike many of the reviews I have read I love my Chase Banking Experiences.

Opened up a dozen business accounts after B of A decided to start charging fees on things I had always received for free (psssssst... NOT a good way to keep established accounts!). I was their client for 21 years.
I cannot speak about all Chase branch locations, but the dozen or so I use regularly are staffed by people who neither look, sound nor act like bankers. I suspect they are so staffed due to political correctness and cowering to the criminal class. Draw your own conclusions there. Bankers are supposed to meet my needs for managing my accounts and information about them. Their purpose is not to make me wait. Well, Chase, I am looking for a new bank.
I am told the best way to go is to go with a one-branch bank, where you can know and talk with the same people every time. I like that idea. I do not need to be wowed by cathedral ceilings or ten-foot windows. Give me an available banker, decent hours, a drive-through, online access and an ATM card, and I am happy. I can still use the ATM anywhere in the world, and my businesses do not have any need for the big expensive services of huge banks. So, I am now on the hunt for a small-town bank with big smiles, professional attitudes and honest numbers. Know of any?
I went to Chase because B of A cost me alot of money. I am leaving Chase because their branch staff are incompetent. Wish me luck on my search. I think it will be like finding a virgin at the state university.
Hey Chase, get your women bankers out of pants... they look ridiculous!

After opening a personal and business account almost 10 years ago I'm still a stranger every time I go there. A few weeks ago I had to show my Drivers license to DEPOSIT a check in my business account. What's coming next? It's a hassel to change Banks ... but I'm strongly considering doing so. On the positive side of things ... the online banking features are great!

chase is going to lose a lot of customers. in addition to what one of the other reviewers mentioned, their "mining" tactics, as well as screwing all the loyal WAMU customers by now reneging on the FREE checking.
i'm moving my money.
this place stinks. crooks. very shady tactics recently that i do not care for.
worse than used car sales people. very shady practices.
not happy customer. i banked with wamu for over 11 years.

This branch is conducting unethical sales practices by using a technique called "mining" to get additional business from their existing customer by selling you new products in their portfolio with any liquid assets you may have at hand or by rolling over investments you may have with other companies into financial investments they offer. "Mining" occurs when a financial service company devises sales strategies designed to generate additional sales from their current customers. Devising ways to get you seated in front of one of their financial service representatives so they can "fact find" and question you regarding assets you hold with them, (which they already know of) but more importantly your other investments holdings with other companies with rollover opportunities for them.
I arrived today to conduct a simple transaction at the counter,to deposit a check I received into my personal checking account. This "mining strategy" I experienced was devised under the guise of " customer service". I was third in the counter transaction line with one teller working. At that time, the first person waiting in line was approached by one of their financial service representatives and advised she would help her at her desk with her transaction so she wouldn't have to wait. Two other financial service representatives approached the second person in line and then myself the third person in line offering the same "customer service" so we would not have to wait to see a teller. This whole "mining" (digging for money, hence the term) procedure is nothing more than an unethical way to get you seated in front of one of their financial service representatives for additional investment sales opportunities.
I was asked if I frequently made deposits of the size in which I was making which was an auto accident settlement check from my insurer. I was also asked about savings, which I would not disclose. She clearly knew that I had none with Chase while reviewing my account data on her computer. Realizing what was going on I told her to conduct my transaction not offering any response to her inquiries.
Her manager served as the runner taking transaction paper work back to another teller sitting away from the main transaction counter, a ploy to make it appear as though only one teller was available to conduct transactions and create the illusion that they were doing this under the guise of customer service.
I'm heading to the Better Business Bureau tomorrow reporting this incident and demand the JP Morgan Chase Corporate ethics personnel are notified regarding these practices at the Wadsworth, Ohio branch

These people are crooks. I signed up for an everything free Senior Account. After we had a disagreement on a CD closure, I dropped my account total way down. When Washington Mutual merged with Chase they notified me they were changing me to a service charge account. I objected but they did it anyway. They then took all the money from my account. They are crooks.

There are a couple of nice employees here, but some strange ones, too. Last time I had a transaction, the branch manager took care of me but never came back with my cards or receipt. I asked someone else to retrieve my debit card, which he had taken. It wasn't until I got to my car that I realized I needed to make a transfer into my account. Why couldn't the manager have brought this to my attention, instead of disappearing? Some banker.

This afternoon I took my daughter into the Times Corners Branch to learn how to use her account while studying abroad. Knowing that online banking provided the service to set up "travel alerts," I thought it would be best if the information would come from the banking professionals. I was shocked that the personal banker knew nothing about the online banking and when I tried to "lead" her to the answer for her to save face, she indigently told me there was no such option in t online banking. She then gave us the 800 collect number for my daughter to use while traveling abroad. I asked her since it was an international call if an 01 prefix would be needed and she responded absolutely not. (she later admitted that she did not know that for sure) After we arrived home, I showed my daughter how easily it was done online under the customer service tab. I then copied the pages and went back to the branch to show our personal banker how to do it. She told me it was not part of her job. I then spoke to the branch manager who also had no idea about the online banking. He said it was not the duty of the branch to educate people on online banking. I told him I was shocked that the personal bankers did not know their Chase products, let alone the Branch Mgr. I've had many other experiences at this branch to lead me to believe there is little if any training for their branch staff. The tellers are always pleasant. hard working and knowledgeable, but the personal bankers and branch mgt. are truly sub par. A"desk" does not give an individual knowledge! Chase...Educate your employees!!!! The branch managers should know the Chase products and be able to discuss/advise them properly. Always having access to Executive Banking, I never realized the dichotomy between the "haves" and the "have nots!" My advise to the people that use this branch is to educate themselves before entering the branch. There should be a disclaimer on the front door, "Buyer beware, the information that you may receive may not be accurate." C'mon Chase, if you valued the hard working branch customers you would educate the employees that advised them.

Chase/JP Morgan bank employees are arrogant and dismissive. I called to inquire about purchasing a Deed of Trust on a property where my neighbor is in default. I had the loan number, the original date and amount of the note and other pertinent information, but was told that by the banker, that Chase will not sell non-performing assets to individuals and No, there was no one else there I could speak with.
