Since First Mid Bank took over Providence, it has slowly gone downhill. We are in the process of changing banks after 4 attempts of trying to get a personal banker to help us in the Lobby. We have been told the following in a 2 week period:
1st - He's out to lunch and no one else is here that can help you. 2nd - (2 ladies behind the counter) We're both new and no one else is here. 3rd - She's on vacation and I'm the only other one here and I can't leave the counter, but you can make an appointment. 4th - She went home sick and I'm the only one here and I can't leave the counter. Unbelievable!! We don't want your excuses, we just want someone to help us take care of our business. The Lobby hours are listed on their website, Saturday is by appointment only. That needs to be changed to EVERYDAY IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! Needless to say we opened an account at another bank, and it was such a breath of fresh air to walk in and take care of our business and not be given excuses why they can't help us.

I hate going to this bank because they make me feel like a criminal. Asking where did this check come from? Tell me about this check? Deposit it! Or hold it until it clears but it’s none of your business why I have it!
I reported my debit card being hacked so they sent a new card but never investigated the charge until I called back 2 weeks later to ask why it’s not resolved. They said no one disputed it the first time. Why not? Then 2 different people call me to ask the same questions I already answered the 1st and 2nd time I reported the charge.

I bank at first mid Illinois to cash my paychecks only. I was thinking about opening an account there but NOT after what happened Thursday November 19th. Just like every Thursday I go through the drive thru to cash my paycheck. I leave and get home to find out they have given me $415.xx when my check was only for $155.xx this week. So I get ready to return to the bank to return the money and before I could even leave my house I get a phone call from my mother saying how the brand manager has called her and has came to my house. I am 20 years old and that is VERY unprofessional to contact my mother when she has mother to do with it. So I get to the bank and give him the $415 and he had me $55. I tell him my check was $155 and he give me the thee $100. By the time I get back home my mother calls me AGAIN saying how he has texted her saying I have an extra $100 that I kept. Which is not true. I gave him the full $415 and he handed me $155 which is what my check was for. He then comes to my house late at night to tell me that the bank teller has told him I was given $515 and I have kept an extra $100. I assured him I have not and that his bank teller is wrong. So he decides to let me know that she is the newest employee and she will be up for review. That isn't my problem at all. I am no theift and I didn't have to return the money in the first place. Jason who is the branch manager in Quincy Illinois is rude and unprofessional and I will NEVER bank at first mid Illinois EVER again.

I have found them to be helpful each time I go through the drive-through line. I have not gone to the inside since First-Mid Illinois took over from Old National, but the drive through has always been responsive and helpful.
