I've been a customer of First Hawaiian,for 2 yrs my branch is Kamuela,I love First Hawaiian,I'm writing only about the Kamuela branch,I have a checking account,I never bounced a check or anything else that would be considered negative,Friday April third I received a a large check and I went to deposit it,and asked if I can get a portion of it ,I know that they put a hold on it,especially it was a out of state check,they wouldn't eveen consider it,not even a single dollar,I went to the mall Hilo side and went to the new fhb in the mall parking lot I went in and was greeted with a big Aloha,I gave them the check not even a minute later,they acknowledge and said that they would be able to give me a the amount that i requested,I was delighted I needed the money for for my security deposit for the new place that I moved into, it's weird that the bank that I originally opened my account denies me a penny,and then the other branh that didn't know me did,Happy Easter Waikea,and a Big boo to you Kamuela,

I deposited a government payroll check drawn off of First Hawaiian's own bank and they would not release a dime and put a hold on it. I've deposited these same checks before too. The associate was rude and dismissive. No Aloha at this branch on Bishop.
