In general, service is always bad here.

One time I forgot my ID and asked for an exception so I could make my deposit and not have to drive all the way back home.

The guy says "You have to have an ID ... I don't know you."

Don't know me?  I've been going to this bank for over a year, and I've received service/chatted with this guy multiple, multiple times.

At what point do I become a valued customer that you can remember my face, let along my name?

Drive-through service is severely lacking as well -- they're obviously under-staffed.

This place has been sketchy from the beginning.

Olga in steinway, NY 11103 branch helped me to open the citi bank account package, she said I can get 20,000 ThankYou Points, within 45days if I set up direct deposit and one bill payment. After 45days, I inquired my reward status to citi customer service through online client service. Citibank Online Client Services, kindly answered my inquiry, and very surprisingly, my checking account was not set up for 20,000 thank you point, she was unable to locate the promotional code on my checking. And then I visited the Steinway branch to clarify this matter, because Olga who opened my account wanted me to come over the branch. When I visit the office, Olga kept saying that if this is about credit card, I said no several times and explained that you open this checking for me but she did not listen. She was too busy talking with other client. So the other banker named Louis looked on my account, he said he will call me back after he investigates on this matter. It happened last Saturday and still no contact from them. I am very disappointed by the way you treat your client, I just wanted to make sure that my checking is ¡°THE CITIBANK ACCOUNT PACKAGE¡±, and found out that no one care about my account. Therefore, I am closing my account with CITI. I would not do any business with your company again. This is very disappointing.

Teller Aurelia Robinson speaks in a condensending tone, not capable to provide needed service, difficult in demeanor and well versed at frustrating customers.

Branch set up with tellers  sitting behind thick safety glass in a desk is unprofessional and definately not friendly.  It is difficult to hear with no privacy.

I went to Citi bank At Ralphn Ave, Booklyn 11234, the servce was very poor. The new loan officer Corrent is very nasty and the manger doesn't do any thing about it. The Loan Officer Mr. Map mess uo the paper work and the bank want to charge me $28 a day to extend the closing date. I receive good faith esitmate and who told every thing on there is wrong. The bank manager Mr. Michael agree to pay me back my appraisal fees of $500 and yet to do so he avoiding my calls and he doesn't call me back. I am planing on suing the bank and for mismangement of my refinance. Buyer be ware. It a BIG SCAM going on at Ralphn Ave brooklyn NY branch and the general manger need to know what is going on which I am going to make sure of. I need my appraisal back Mr. Michael which you promise to repay back I have it on recording and I am taking this to the top of Citi bank if I don't get my money back. I need my money back

Jan 7, 2012 I came in the Citibank at Quimby, San jose, Ca. This bank is too bad service. I got the same trouble like that. I got 2 times . Now, I came back and ask them how long they give my money back. They told me that they did not know, I need to wait the answer from the person's ATM. I told them that they stop my payment transaction. They get me the trouble with the payment. How is the bank do? Nobody reply include the manager and employee from the bank. I think that is reason, the customer say goodbye Citibank.

I will start with one thing, you never can get good rate any where those days, but in the other hand its the service and the people you deal with, this bank at 360 Springfield ave summit NJ has the best people working there, they are so friendly and they will go out if their way to help you, and they will never turn you down on anything, That's what count service Office Environment & Staffing. not the interest rate. I am 100% with them and would so recommend this bank to everyone in this area.

I'm done with big banking. The last of MANY straws? I deposited just under $10,000, the ATM tells me $2,800 is released, but when I use my card the vendors say "Insufficient Funds." When I call the bank they tell me that it SHOULD clear but the amount that it says SHOULD be released is automated and since it is NOT released, we'll just have to wait. My wife has been a member for over 20 years. We have seen fees skyrocket (It is now $10 for every out of network ATM use, PLUS $15 a month to do so) while the service and product value has dropped to an all time low. (I don't blame the slave wagers behind the counter; they serve as best they can with what they are given and the scandalous rules they are provided.) I am giving up on "banks" and going with my local credit union where I've had my savings and they still treat me fairly. Bye, Citibank. Have fun with BofA and WellsFargo. Maybe you can get them to pay your retarded fees, because I'm not your whipping boy any longer.

On August 10, 2011, I visited this Citibank branch (Financial Center #001, 120 Broadway, NY) and had a very unpleasant experience. I tried to cash my JPY travelers’ checks into US$ but the Branch Assistant Manager, Ms. Ieunice Roberts, graciously refused doing so, showing the “internal” company policy that explicitly prohibits cashing foreign currency TC of non US Citibank clients. I am a Citigold customer of Citibank Spain but no special service was offered. Although I did not expect a special treatment, the way Ms. Roberts addressed my question was very impersonal, unkind, and unsympathetic. It seems that the worldwide operation of Citigold is merely a false copy which I found very inconsistent and incoherent.

SWITCH TO TD BANK! I had problems with them when my Dad was trying to pay me for work I did around the house.  They would not cash a check for me with my dad's signature saying it did not match? BASICALLY IF YOU ARE NOT AN ACCOUNT HOLDER THEY SOLICIT your banking (yeah right)YOU WHILE OTHER PEOPLE ARE WAITING FOR SERVICE.  they also treat you like you are not human.  So if you bank with them do not count on them paying any checks over 400 dollars.  How is that even a policy? I go to my bank and my money, is my money, not Citibank's to tell me how and who I can give it to.  OVERALL TERRIBLE BANK AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. Watch out for Meredith!!

I have been dealing with this bank since 2004. I have business, personal, and mortgage accounts. there was never any problem with them whatsoever. in fact, sometimes I could not go there for a work reason, they sent someone to my office to sign documents. I think they are the best around. I recommended to them many of my friends and others.

The worst bank ever.  Allowed someone to withdrawl money from ATM with Mciaels pincode infromation.  I have talked to two people in Utah today who were victims.  Unbelieveable.  I strongly encourage you not to use this bank.  I have never used an ATM and yet they allowed someone to withdraw over $500.00 from an ATM in CA when I do not even live in CA.

I am generally a patient, understanding person, and yet I cannot begin to explain just how ridiculously incompetent this entire staff is.  I had just moved to LA & needed to start a new bank account so I could access my money without incurring massive ATM fees.  Irma opened my account - she was quite friendly and helpful, although she failed to cancel the online account I had begun the day before like I'd asked her to upon sitting down at her desk, which caused immense confusion when I received a refusal letter from Citibank in the mail, indicating that my request to open an account had been denied (highly confusing, seeing as how they still had my money!).  Luckily, the good people at the Encino Citibank straightened this out for me.

Anyway, Irma informed me that someone would call when my debit card arrived at their location.  4 WEEKS later, I still had not received a call.  So, I called and it turned out that my card had arrived (they claimed that someone called me, but I never got a message or even a missed call on my cell phone.  My cell is always on, so I highly doubt someone ever called me.)  Because I live nowhere near this branch now, I asked the lady who answered the phone if someone could mail it to me - naturally thinking that it would take no more than 1 day to mail it from Highland Park to Encino.  4 DAYS later, I still had not received my card and therefore became concerned.  I called AGAIN.  Then AND ONLY THEN was I informed that they have to send the card TO SACRAMENTO and then it will be mailed to me!!!!!  WHAT THE EFF?!?!

Now, had I known that my only link to my own money would have to be sent 400 MILES AWAY before it could be sent 400 miles back to me.  I would have found the time in my ridiculous schedule to pick the freakin thing up.

THESE PEOPLE ARE MENTALLY CHALLENGED IN THE EXTREME!!!  Thankfully, the idiocy seems to be limited to this branch, as the nice folks at the Encino branch are both friendly and intelligent.

Thank you, Encino peeps!

I've been with all banks...BOA, DIME, EAB, CHASE, WASH MUTUAL, TDA...Citibank has been the best. They process your debit card same day unlike competitors whom allow 24 hours for debits to process which leads to unbalanced accounts and overdraft. I have had issues with Citibank BUT ALL instances were resolved and credit was issued to me EVEN when the error was mine. I mistakenly deposited the paystub portion of my paycheck (over $700) and the it cleared instantly through the ATM upon my discovery of the error I contacted Citi. They honored EVERY transaction for the 2 days (weekend) for me until I had a chance to go into the branch the following Monday. Also I incurred NO fees, honestly I cant complain about them. When you call citicare you speak to an AMERICAN in AMERICA no outsourced customer service like BOA. If you had a bad experience with this bank...there is something wrong and its not them.
