I have been trying to reach someone at this bank for more than a week. they don't have a published number, customer service claims they only have extensions, they call and no one picks up the phone. their regard for their customers, current advertising notwithstanding, is zero. Worst choice of bank!

I sat wth a customer service rep regarding a notification I received from Citibank stating that my account would be closed within 10 business days from the date of the letter. It turns out there was something left undone from a previous bank I was using. I immediately had the issue straightened out with the old bank and brought a certified letter to this effect from the old bank to this Citibank branch at 6th & 23rd. The customer service rep was useless and unable to help and told me that the
Assist Branch Mgr would call me the very next morning. (this rep KEPT my Citibank letter and the certified letter from the old bank and wrote my contact numbers on it.) I never got the call the next morning. I called that afternoon and was told that the rep was out to lunch and I would have to wait until she got back before they could do anything so they could get my documents from her, etc.. I'm sure you can guess - I recieved no call back for the second time. So I rush out of work early so I can get to the branch before they close at 6p, and these reps have all gone home. I explained the situation to another Customer Service Rep that happened to still be there (this was a Friday afternon)and he went in the back to talk to the Assist Branch Mgr (the one who was supposed to have contacted me...TWICE, but didn't) He comes back and says this Assist Branch Mgr is comepltely aware of my situation, but she will not be able to help me until the following Monday. Meanwhile I have 2 business days left before my account is supposed to be shut down. I have direct deposits, automatic payments, etc.. that I need to take care of if the account is going to be closed!! And these people have the nerve to leave me uncontacted all of this time?? I might have understood that they needed more time if only they had enought courtesy to call me and tell me what was going on while I am sitting on pins and needles praying that my account will not close within the 10 business days that their letter stated it would close in. So what could I do?? Lastly, I ask the Rep for my documents back (it was highly unusual & unprofessional for them to keep these in the first place) I said, please make a copy of these for yourselves so I can get my original certified letters back. The Rep comes back and says they can't find them!! But I am supposed to believe that these incompetents are on top of my situation when they can't even find my documents!!!!! And that Assist Branch Manager has the NERVE to keep sending this poor Cust Serv Rep back out to tell me all this without coming out to talk to me face to face!! These people have no right holding these positions. I would have been fired from my job for less. Stay away from this branch and the Assist Branch Manager at this bank!!!
