Berkshire Bank is bogus! If you don't believe me, please read their other reviews. If you do you will see they are mostly glowing. But notice the review dates; they are all written before Berkshire Bank bought the Savings Institute Bank & Trust. When SI was owned and operated by SI, it was an excellent local bank with excellent customer service and earned the glowing reviews Berkshire Bank is claiming to be theirs.

Since Berkshire Bank began operating the bank in September-October 2019, it has become a complete and utter disaster. For example, I have been trying to get a copy of my September 2019 account statement for weeks, if not months. It is impossible to get through to anyone at Berkshire Bank on their phone lines. It doesn't matter what phone you call, the local branch number, the universal banker number, the 800 numbers, it's all the same. An apologetic message about the bank "experiencing extremely high call volumes." There is no such thing as "extremely high call volumes" all the time; only too few people to answer the phones!

I have banked with many banks in my life. I have never banked with any bank nearly as incompetent and unresponsive as the Berkshire Bank. It advertises itself as America's "most exciting bank." Who cares? I don't know anyone who thinks about their bank as an exciting place or experience. I certainly don't.

I want my bank to be secure, to be convenient, to provide good reliable customer service. That's what's important to me in a bank. If that's what you want from your bank, don't bank at Berkshire!

If, on the other hand, you're looking for excitement, well don't be disappointed when the promised excitement turns out to be  aggravation instead.

Extremely Satisfied All Around

Just a blanket review of most of the branches I deal with..Only New York branch I have dealt with is in Glenville. Which was fine. Both business and personal checking acvounts are with this bank, NEVER had a problem, quick service(when cutomers aren't the problem) very friendly tellers, always been helpful,GLAD I chose them over the others,like Greylock..
