I'd been to several Atlantic Union branches trying to open a checking account as a POA. I was told I needed an appointment. I called the Laburnum Ave branch and spoke with Jackie Evans (branch manager). She said I did not need an appointment and I could come in now. The process was less than an hour as she fit me in between her other appointments. Words can't express how pleased I was with the branch and Jackie's willingness to assist me in such a professional manner. This is my new go to branch:-)

I recently had an issue with fraud on my account. I called the bank and spoke with Wendy who told me the steps to take to resolve it. She even followed up with me a littler while later to see if I had gotten through to the appropriate department. We made plans to meet up the next morning to sign paperwork. Wendy called my a few minutes before the bank officially opened to let me know that she had the paperwork all printed and ready for when I came in. I was in and out of the bank within 5 minutes(so I wasn't late for work) with the reassurance that it will be handled asap.
Having customer service, and staff who care about their customers like Wendy does makes an aggravating situation easier to handle.

I opened a Home Equity Line Of Credit about one year ago. The entire process was so easy, Brenda at the Pantops office in Charlottesville Va. answered all of my questions very quickly. The entire process including the home appraisal took less than 30 days, which really is amazing. I'm so happy with this bank that I recently went back to Brenda and moved all of my accounts to Union. (I previously had my checking and money market with a different bank). I highly recommend this bank and especially working with Brenda. I'm so happy with the service at Union Bank on Pantops.

Stephanie, Kathy, and the others who work at this branch are the best, and they are what make this bank. I've been going to this branch since it was Planters, and then Stellar One, and now it is Union, and it has always been my favorite branch because of the friendly people. Their interest rates have never been the best, being a commercial bank, but that isn't the fault of the people who work there, they don't set the rates they just quote them.

They are so slow but one thing that made me mad was, we have a checking account, it's just 13.00 dollars. My husband got a check from someone who dealt with this bank and wanted to cash it. The teller would not cash it. My ? is can they do that. My inlaws had a checking account with them. Some one stole their account and took thousands of dollars. It took months to get it back. I heard it was a inside job.

RUDE!!!!!!! came to change out 4 20 dollar bills into small change for a business close by. The teller hesitantly took the cash. When she came back she said ‘this is the LAST time we can do this!’ ‘Do you have an account with us?’ Me: ‘no.’ ‘Well if you open an acct we have free checking.’ My thoughts... WOW! This is a bank, banks have cash of all types wth does it mattter if I have an acct or not just to get change lady?!?! So yes it will be the last time would NEVER open an acct with this bank you don’t support local businesses in the area WELLS FARGO ON SHORE DR SEE YA SOON!!!

I have been a customer of what was Union Bank and Trust for 23 years, long before this branch was even thought of. It is near my home, so moved my accounts here when it opened several years ago. The staff got so used to me, and knew how long I'd been a customer, that we jokingly called the bank "My Branch." Though the staff members have come and gone over time, each new one is just as helpful and courterous and friendly as the last.
I cannot comment on interest rates, because I do not have a loan, and the interest paid on checking and savings accounts is comparable to all the other banks I am familiar with.
