It was the weekend before the change-over Monday.  Within hours of Monday my Whitney shuts down and a replacement steps in.  Did I get my first experience of my marriage with The First?  The divorce was so soon with Whitney and Hancock I think I had trust issues. Especially, when my bankcard was hijacked over the weekend and there was literally no one to find, write or yell at.  All a part of a good marriage of course.  Yep, this happened the weekend before the Monday "change-over."  Apparently everyone went on an early honeymoon on the weekend in preparation for the wedding on Monday.  How lucky can one person get?  Your Debit Card (checking card) is hijacked on the internet.  Nervous? Yeah, just a tad. I'd say worse than a new bride on her honeymoon night.  But I managed to cool down after sending out emails to anyone I could get a hold of on Sunday night.  I patiently waited for Monday to roll around so I could call my reliable bank, Whitney. Who I knew would take care of it immediately.  So I got my cup of coffee and made my call to Whitney.  What?  You said what?  First?  Oh my it happened already?  I missed the wedding.  Whitney was The First now. Gosh I didn't realize time flew by and it was already time for the change-over. I was surprised.  But I told them my problem and they said so nicely Ms. H, you have to call The First.  I said oh okay, you have that number?  I called the First.  The First time I communicated with my new spouse.  Yes, I happily expressed myself explaining the situation and that I was a former Whitney Customer.  Oh? I said. What? I said. Okay.  And hung up.  What happened?  I had a bad feeling my marriage was not going to work out.  They told me I had to talk to Whitney about the problem.  Yep, I was put on the merry-go-round on my first day.  Things did not look good for my new marriage.  But after talking to four different people back at Whitney in Gulfport and then New Orleans. THey all took care of it.   I got my new bankcard in the mail for The First.  I called and authorized it. I sent my girl to the store with it knowing I did the authorization. Only to see my girl come back saying it was a dead card.  Frozen.  Huh?  Oh no.  My first fight was about to happen.  Only to find out someone had actually canceled the NEW card at the First along with the Old one at Whitney. No, I said.  This is not happening.  This is not a good marriage.  The signs are not looking good.  However, I got several calls from the bank with a million apologies (which really doesn't cover the inconvenience it caused me).  But I got a call from all and they all said a new card was on the way. Someone did confess they made a mistake. And these were my old Whitney people who now worked for The First.  They asked me to be patient while they learn the new system at The First.  And You know what I said?  I said I most certainly would be more patient.  These people have been through a very hard divorce and now in a new marriage.  Of course it was a stressful time for all of them.  So maybe there wasn't enough pre-marital counseling.  I completely understood.  So I said a prayer for them.  I can only say I hope The First (old Whitney) has as much success as Whitney did with their customers.  I'd say they were on the right track.  So lets give these poor employees a break and give them time to learn the new system and get used to this new marriage.  I'd like to see a marriage work out for a change!  No divorce here.  Thank you and Good Luck to all the Employees at The First on their new adventure.  Sincerely, JC Hines

This bank sucks totally!! Caused several issues and I finally closed account, to find out later they left it open and are charging me some kind of fees for nearly$400. They were incredibly rude to me on the phone, told me I had to pay, and physically go down to bank again and close account, it was my problem. Excuse me, this is not my problem, they are incompetent, and can't do their job. I am not going to be bullied. Don't use this bank. Sunshine bank was awesome, was there for 25 years. Now with the First, it just sucks,!!!
