Dear All,

I can say that over the years I've almost always gone to the same Santander Bank location (Swampscott). I have had the privilege of working with the same people year after year who all smile and know me by name.  The management from Aaron Siegel to Justin Sacco have always gone above and beyond for us small business owners.  The guy I call Mr. Big time Peter and the two ladies at the front Katherine and Yania are all top shelf as well.  If I ever have a problem the buck stops here.  I always get 110% from these folks.  None of the negative reviews on here reflect any moment in my banking history with this bank. EVER!!!

Dear All,

I can say that over the years I've almost always gone to the same Santander Bank location. I have had the privilege of working with the same people year after year who all smile and know me by name.  The management from Aaron Siegel to Justin Sacco have always gone above and beyond for us small business owners.  The guy I call Mr. Big time Peter and the two ladies at the front Katherine and Yania are all top shelf as well.  If I ever have a problem the buck stops here.  I always have gotten 110% from these folks.  None of the negative reviews on here reflect any moment in my banking history with this bank. EVER!!!

Nicole Dellatacoma could use some customer service skills.
If you have a customer waiting for you for 10 minutes while you are giggling on the office phone not acknowledging them, you are not manager material. You are not fit for customer service
Further, your notary skills are flawed. Asking for private info to notarize a paper, is illegal, last I checked!

Awful bank! Opened account to take advantae of a promotion to get cash for a new account. Counting the days to get the heckl out of here with my cash award. They nickel; and dime you to death. They have crap online services and when I set up bill pay, I asked not once but three times if I still control the day and amount of payment would go out as my income comes in irregularly. Nope, nope, NOPE! My account was OVERDRAWN and I was charged for it because, get this, I may have THOUGHT I asked them if the payment was still in my control and would not go out automatically BUT I did not ask it the right way because it was set up as a one time only automatic payment. Are you serious? I removed every bill pay I had set up with them, and now take all my bill money to another bank and do bill pay with them. I still have the direct deposit to earn the cash reward and withdrawing all my cash each month is considered the one bank transaction per month they require. Oh yes, and getting the direct deposit switched from one bank to this one? Took 8 weeks and some woman called me three times a week to let me know it was still not switched. That's funny because I switched it and it began appearing in my account even while this woman kept calling me and telling me it would be soon. WORST BANK EVER. If you can get a couple hundred out of them to open an account, just do as I do and let your cash get deposited but take your $ out and take your business elsewhere and for God's sake make sure you stop the direct deposit BEFORE you collect your cash award as they will surely figure out a way to steal more of your money while they can get their hands on it!

I have been a customer with this bank since it was First Dewitt when my parents first moved into the area in 1961. I went to deposit (mind you) a check and they would not accept it because my nickname was included with my legal name.  I was talked to like I was trash and they didn't even acknowledge a relationship with my account.  Oh, but when they want you to open other types of accounts they can't be nicer.  I will never recommend this bank ever! I deposited my check in another bank I use.

I just move to the neighborhood. This is my First time at this branch. The service was great, beautiful branch, full of staff which I love about, I when in for cash deposit an check cashing. Happened to waited on a lovely teller. Go by the name Chenda, really acknowledgeable. It's alway good to have a teller that willing to listen to you, interact with while doing you deposit. I recommend this branch. Love it!

I got this Account back in September 2014, in Red Bank, NJ. But since I have Moved over to 3 Towns over, I go to another Branch. Very Nice Ladies there and Management I can say. I believe if you have a good disposition about your self you can  get along with just about anybody and everybody.

Have been with it since took over prior bank.  People very nice.  Bank behavior criminal.  Has posted interest to savings account but not deposited all of it.  Has opened multiple loans in our name, and shuffled money between them.  I have an open case with the Comptroller of Currency regarding this.  No relief as yet.

Ridiculous policies and they make you wait forever to offer little to no help. Even management doesn't have access to proper account information and customers have to wait while they call around to get appropriate info. After several ridiculous issues over the years, it is now time for me to look elsewhere for my banking needs.

I live on the same block and have been going to this branch to do cash advance on my foreign credit. This time there was only one teller(1pm on Wed 8/20/2015) who was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful when I asked for a 100USD cash advance. She told me that they don't do cash advance for non-Satander cards which was ridiculous cause I have done it at that exact branch 3 times! Instead of checking with her supervisor, she blatantly looked at me from the side of her eyes and in a very condescending tone said she doesn't know what I am talking about when I told her I have performed that transaction here before. And then she accused me of lying!!! I was in utter shock! Her customer service was disgusting. I just walked over to Bank of America and they helped me with no problem.

I have been a customer at Sovereign Bank, Littleton Rd. Branch in Parsippany for about 20 years, long before they became Santander. I have NEVER met more courteous, helpful staff. they are efficient and organized. The wait is not long IN COMPARISON to OTHER banks. I know every one by name and they know me and my needs. They have offered me and I have taken 7rl investments since the interest rate is low and have made sure I have the best rates available on any product. My daughter and husband also bank here. Congratulations Rhona on your fine Bank.

My husband and I maintain a business account at the Webster Branch. We've looked at the other raters, and find it hard to believe it's the same bank. Bank manager Lauren and her staff are absolutely first rate. They are knowledgeable, accommodating, and always friendly. Lauren saw us through my husband's serious illness. You can't find a better bank or banker.

I have had accounts with this institution since they were Sovereign Bank. At that point in time it was a great branch...friendly, professional staff that moved quickly to process your transaction while still making you feel like they valued you.
Now, this bank (with their crazy fees) branch is an absolute joke. I wait (on a consistent basis) at least 5 min to be acknowledged at the drive thru while there's ONE customer in the bank. Usually, it's more to the tune of a total of 15 min in the drive thru & they'll take every customer in the lobby first, even those that come in after you've been in line. They ignore that drive-up like it doesn't exist.
In addition to that, the branch is seriously understaffed. This branch is across the street from a Hospital, with a Farmer's Mkt behind it & sits at a busy intersection....and they routinely schedule only one, yes ONE, teller. Seriously?!?! When I called the corporate 1-800 number to complain, I received a return call from the 17th St branch manager who actually attempted to chastise me for my complaint! He insisted I call the branch first & how dare I call the 1-800 number. Again, SERIOUSLY!?!?!
This bank, and in particular, this branch are ridiculous. In the past 2 weeks, I have moved all my accounts to a local credit union. I still have a checking account there because I just bought new checks & I'd like to use them up. Lol.  It says something serious about customer service (or lack thereof) when I prefer to drive 10 minutes to a new bank, rather than use a branch I can walk to in 2 minutes. Long story short-they stink & their rates are barely competitive.

Been going to this branch for 17 yrs!! I work up road.For me staff is friendly and courteous rarely have an issue with them.  Drive thru is insane at times you can be the only car there and be waiting forever to get service?? And its a simply transaction nothing complicated just a simple deposit!!If I pull up and theres 1 car in front of me I hesitate at times at waiting cause im on my lunch break which is a 1/2 hr or even on way into work they open at 8:30 am if theres 2 cars forget it!! I even at times just suck it up and go inside while on my lunch break and its a busy time most common time why are employees on break? why is there only 1 teller? if represenatives are not busy why not step up and help your co workers you know teamwork?? I could be waiting online just as long.  I went there this morning took a chance 1 car infront of me simple deposit soo I don't have to waste time on lunch. Teller informs me they are changing their hours starting 2/13/17?? im like this a joke!! this a busy busy industrial,commerical and residential area they are located smack on a corner intersection of a busy area!! Guess Ill just go by my residence where they are more staffed and organized getting people in and out.

This is my first review i have ever made before i was treated so bad i had to write this one.there was a guy buy the name of jiang there told me to call him kenny i was like ok sure he was helping me with an issue about my account when he saw my account on his computer he started to laugh don't understand why after that he was very rude and disrespectful said some stuff in chinese to himself as he laughed then he made a rude comment about what do i do for a living and started saying stuff about i shouldnt be spending money if i dont have it. there was more but i belive i made my point. i will be reporting this store and him to anyone that i know and i will never use this bank again he should not be working there if i was to go to this place again if i see him i tell his boss to please tell him to leave the area do not want to see his face been with this company since sovereign bank that was in boston was not there anymore i came there.

I hope something is done about this or i will report this to higher ups to have this handled.

I went to this branch to add my husband to my money mkt account.  The day next when we checked our accounts we noticed she added my husband to my mma account AND opened an individual one under his name WITHOUT our permission.   Shady shady   She needs to be fired.  She has a picture of someone in the army on her desk   Do not go to her!!! In fact dont even go to that branch!

I disagree with several of the raters. My experience with the Webster Branch has been nothing but superior. The Manager, Lauren is about as good as a Banker gets. She's on top of everything, and truly watches out for her customers. She always goes above and beyond. The same with the ladies behind the counter. They are always pleasant, and I've never experienced the delays other have mentioned. Any Bank is a reflection of its policies. More significant however, is the person who runs the place, and Lauren is first rate.
I love my bank!

I sincerely enjoy going to the bank. There are two ladies there that know me by name and always greet me with a kind and personalized greeting. They always exceed my expectations for customer service. They noticed that I was in the wrong account for my lifestyle and made suggestions for a better fit. Upon doing so, the manager (very kind) introduced himself and promptly made an appointment with me. I will never go to another bank!

horrible customer service my wife went there the other day Natasha was rude to her..  didn't recognizer and neither did the other woman that was working with her.  my wife usually loves the staff there  they are always nice and recognize her right away.  she always has three dogs with her and sometimes would go there with her motorcycle  now that her health is slowly detiorating  she is selfconsious and thinks the girls don't like her cause she is different now  We have had acts there for ten plus yrs and they know her or atleast I thought very well  Natasha needed a liscence and cc to cash a check   when my wife gave her it shes like no store credit cards has to have a visa logo  so she is trying to go through catds and Natasha yells through the drivethrough  is that a masshealth card??? she said yes but it doesn't have the logo she said that's fine don't need it.  she cashed It finally and my wife came home in tears.  Now that she cant drive anymore my daughter took her today to the bank and I believe the tellers name was rabecca or racheal long blonde hair  my daughter says oh boy mom this woman is so mean..my wife says no way I love her.  she said you have the wrong date I cant cash it.  I said ok give it back I can fix it.  she said no I cant let you do that.  so my wife so ok I will have to sign a different one then my husband always gives me a couple incase I go out on an outing.  so my wife starts signing and the teller says I cant take that u r writing them out.  I write those  checks for her !!!  she is disabled and can barely sign her name anymore so she was taking too long for the teller.  The teller refused to cash it all together.  My daughter took her to another bank and they had no issues.  How can Santander have so many uncompassionate people on there pay roll!!!!

I've been in this branch 6-7 times for small problems and was always treated great esp. by the branch manager "Tiki" - he is down-to-earth, respectful and always willing to help out if he can.  I can't say enough about this branch.  Re: the tellers, I never had an issue either - friendly and fairly fast.

Inconsistancy in banking

I have been banking here for years and tried to deposit a check made out to me and they refused to deposit it because I am a beneficiary by my mother with her name on the check.
I have been making deposits with the same wording on the check for a year and all of a sudden they refuse to deposit it.  I called the Insurance company and they can't believe that I would be given a hard time about it given it's been a year already!!!  I am going to find another bank!

I see such low ratings and want to add my positive experience.

I am a business customer of Santander and have had very good experience with the bank particularly with the  personnel in my branch.  

When I arrived to investigate opening an account, the asst mgr treated invited me back like a potential customer.  She took the time to find out who I was and what I needed.  Other banks handed me a form and expected me to sell myself on their bank.  

The proactive customer oriented behavior of the bank continued through this day.  When the branch manager heard of a loan program I might find useful, she approached me.  As I grew and wanted to refinance debt or increase my line of credit, I could count on the bank personnel to go to bat for me and my business.  

I've been well taken care of as have the friends and employees I've referred to them.

I am writing this review for my brother who is a quadraplegic who was being taken advantage of by several people.  This bank cared enough to flag his accounts and watch the activity.  They forced closed his account to help prevent any further theft.  They looked out for his best interest.  However, when these people moved his accounts to another bank, they were able to freely continue scamming him.  I can't thank Santander Bank enough for going that extra mile.  Banking here is like it was going to doctors 50 years ago when they made house calls.  Their customer service makes you feel like you are part of a family.  I find them to be very personable.  I never have to wait long to speak with anyone.  I would highly recommend this bank!

I'm only giving them a one star because zero is not an option. The Scotch Plains Branch drive up has been lacking since it was Sovereign. I was excited it was switching to Santander in hopes it would be a better banking experience, no improvement! Plan on sitting there at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledges your presence!
