Chase Bank Crystal Lake - My 75 yr old father in law made the tough choice (after 2 years) to change his banking over to Chase so that he could join "online banking" since his wife passed a few years ago and, due to his memory going, he didn't want any more utilites being turned off because he forgets to pay.
He lives in Lake In The Hills so that's the Chase he chose and after going there, almost daily, for several weeks and bringing in ALL of his financials, including his investments outside of Chase and properties he owns, the banker and VP who had been helping him, Danielle, suggested he meet her mom.  This alone made us very uncomfortable seeing that, first: How unethical to share that type of information? Second: He is an older man who is very lonely and very desperate to not be alone anymore (his own words) and has a substantial portfolio and to think she would share that information bothered us. He agreed to meet her mom and so Danielle had her mom call him and they went out.  He stopped coming around, which was weird but we didn't know what was happening. Three weeks later, he's engaged to be married and, in his own words, "she loves to shop!" (with huge smiles all over his face) He says she's the woman of the house now and wants to change things so she will be redecorating and asked we get any of our "crap" out right away. Furthermore, unbeknownest to us, a senior family friend who is very concerned made a call to the bank manager, Mark, and complained that Danielle would share a customer's personal information let alone, a senior citizen's. The manager sounded astonished and said he didn't know when his employees started playing the "dating game" and he would have to make some calls to find out how to proceed. However, apparently, after he questioned Danielle, he said that she denied it and the manager said it was now a "family conflict" and it was "out of Chase hands" and couldn't help. (How awful!) In the meantime, my husband and I starting receiving phone calls, several a day, from the banker from her personal phones.  She left some nasty messages, also via text and the calls have not stopped in over 2 weeks now.  The family friend who originally made the call to the bank manager Mark, he called today to say he's had 7 calls from her and her mom (my father-in-law's bride to be). The messages left on his phone are in regards to my father in law's personal files, how she was trying to find them but couldn't, then she found them and wanted to know how to get them to her daughter (Danielle who is the VP at Chase and the one who "set them up" and also which computer they should use...my father-in-law's or hers? and the last message was about her wedding dress she'd decided on...?
We are at a complete loss and are taking this higher as we speak but I wrote this "comment" to warn anyone in the Illinois area about Chase bank's policies and how they are not regarding them or the law. Your personal and private information may be shared freely with anyone the banker or management for sure chooses and if you complain, they are allowed to harrass you at your home, work and cell.  From 6:47am to evening hours is free game all because this employee Danielle lied and then denied the allegations and the manager Mark labeled it a "family conflict"...even though most of us have never even met.
Protect yourself, your parents and/or grandparents!
