BMO is the worst bank. I tried to withdraw money from my account at a atm teller my transaction kept being denied I called the following day my account was on hold for suspicious activity after confirming the transaction that yes indeed it was me BMO approved the withdrawals claiming I received the funds, after many emails and calls back BMO decided to flag and close my account without any reason my checks have cleared I have no access to the account nor my funds I have spoken to BMO many times they emailed me a transaction repost with many customers card numbers and balances making it impossible for me to figure out what transactions are mine. BMO customers don’t deserve to be treated like this BMO bank is a scam a fraud their employees are taking customers money or BMO is a complete scam. BMO needs to be aware of their management personal. Don’t use this bank you won’t see your money again.

I had a car loan with Bank of the west, which has been bought out by BMO. I live in Nevada and my payment notice comes from Illinois. The first month they sent me a notice from BMO. I received it after the loan was due I called and asked why I received it so late because it was even dated the day before the loan was due. I could get no straight answer other than we print them three days in advance. When I explained, I live across the US and it takes a week to get here, meaning I would always get them late there was no response other than we mail them three days in advance. I also explain the closest BMO bank to me is 45 miles round-trip which now I was going to have to drive to avoid having a late payment.  no response other than we mail them three days in advance.
Again I receive my loan payment paperwork last night after 3:30 PM even if I had wrote a check then and took it into the post office. It would not have been mailed until today Wednesday and my payment is due Friday. Again, I would have to pay an absorbent amount to have it overnight, delivered or drive 45 miles to pay. So this morning I tried calling the number listed on my invoice stating, this was the number to call if you have questions about any of your accounts. What I got was an automated system telling me I had to set up a Phone account with them. There was no way to bypass it. I don’t want to sign up for anything with them , what I want to do is find out my balance and pay it off and and get away from
this bank.  
I feel bad for the tellers who were trained and worked for bank of the west at the branch. They are still courteous and helpful, but the people who work at the main center in Illinois are either not trained at all or trained to be extremely difficult and not customer helpful.
I also really question the people who gave them high ratings. If they are indeed, actual ratings and not reviews given by employees, then I think they’re talking about bank tellers at their local banks.  Dealing with their phone people or anyone that was not from a previous bank they bought out or took over or rude. I would highly recommend going to a bank that respects that you’re letting them have your money to work with.

Charge fees for counting money put into business checking accounts.

Loans are impossible unless your business falls into their “normal” business criteria.     Our business is seasonal and does not meet their normal criteria even with excellent revenue stream and credit.  

If you want great service and a bank that fits everyone’s needs—- go to a credit union!!!!
You won’t be disappointed.

Bank tellers are always polite at Harris, but that is the only positive I can say for Harris.

I had the opportunity to visit this BearValley Branch and the people there are so friendly they assist so good and open my account, BMO has free accounts and fees for everything are less than other Banks I’m so happy to have my new account without tricks!!!! And hide fees

We have been waiting over two months to open a small business account with no response. On the personal side, opened account over two months ago. Account manager filled out the forms wrong so we did not get our Credit Cards. Ask them to fix the situation. After 2 months no response.

Recently moved to area & decided to open acct here. Awful. Had to wait to receive starter checks in mail. Told 7 days. After 3 weeks nothing. Was not sent Welcome package, free checks, telephone banking pin until I called back. The telephone customer service reps are rude and extremely unhelpful. Recently called and left 3 messages on bank officer voicemail regarding large deposit. 5 days later still no call. As soon as my outstanding checks clear, this account will be closed. Awful awful banking experience. I am a retired banking professional and this the worst incompetence I have seen. Stay away!

I have had a savings account at BMO for a majority of my life, starting as a young child and on into my adult life now. Every visit to BMO was a pleasant experience and I have never really had a problem. If their was a problem it usually was resolved immediately by the friendly staff at BMO. I opened a checking account at BMO a little over a year ago, before I left for college because I knew that this bank was a reliable, convenient, and friendly place to bank. The staff at the Minocqua Wisconsin BMO started a new checking and savings account for me that was meant for students, so I wouldn't need any minimum balance for these accounts and I wouldn't have to pay any extra service fees. Just this past week I noticed that BMO was charging me a $5 service fee for the past three months. I immediately went to my local bank to figure out what this fee was for. A banker was not available at the time so I left my name and number. They said a banker would contact me later that day. No call. Three days later a banker finally called me. I explained to her my issue and how when I opened this account I was told that I wouldn't need any minimum balance and wouldn't be charged any extra fees. She stated "I don't believe that at all", "There is no way that anyone would have told you that", and other statements like so. She showed me no respect and treated me like a child.  I do no appreciate this type of treatment from a place that claims to be very professional and friendly to their clients. I felt as though this banker did not care at all for my concerns. She was extremely rude and disrespectful. I will no longer be doing business at this bank due to this unpleasant experience and other past incidents that I have experienced recently.

I signed on a month ago with my elderly father to handle his affairs.  I told them I knew nothing, needed checks, change of address, debit card and online access.
Today 9-9-16 I am still trying to monitor his account.  Who gives you online access and you cannot view your account.  Who changes personal information knowing(because you were told) the client has no checks, no debit card only to not receive anything the first month and go back being told you had to ask for it.  Going on 60 days, cannot pay bills without withdrawing cash. Can't close savings because aft have to be transferred. Called and asked if I needed to ask for a debit card, was told yes.  Went back this month after not receiving checks, to find, they had not been ordered.
People look at you when you admit you are operating blind and need information. Just to be ignored. My father is 93 years old. Need I say more.

I have been banking with Harris Bank since 2010. I have always had outstanding service with the bank in Kokomo Indiana.  I give Harris Bank a 5 star rating in my town.
Avoid for investment or trust banking!

This bank touts itself as being wealth management experts and providing account analysis and advisement to help clients meet their financial goals. In fact, at the Seattle branch, the opposite occurs; no analysis or advising is provided, investment accounts are managed very passively without any adjustment to follow market trends, and customers' stated financial needs and goals are ignored. One only finds this out after years of lackluster performance, with the investment dept. director unable to respond to concerns, year after year. They do not track individual accounts on even an annual basis, so they have no idea what's going on in each account!  There is no oversight of the investment dept., nor any accountability to higher-ups. The trust management specialists are poorly informed about trust law (including those who are trust lawyers!), and commit errors and illegalities due to ignorance. The trust staff seem to chronically be functioning in an emergency, panic mode, struggling to keep up with workloads and the steady exodus of dissatisfied clients. This was the situation when the Seattle branch was a small, local bank, and deteriorated after being acquired by the Harris, then BMO. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.

This bank just now let through a scam with a fake bank draft. They must know it was a scam since we explained to them the whole story, but they didn't say a word, no warning and we fell into the trap, wiring back the money to the scammer. A loss of $61K. And thee still claim that they exercised due diligence! Beware: they don't care.

i understand its a small town but that's still not a reason to be unprofessional and tell a parent something there adult daughter needs to know about her money and not call back when you say you are so over all unprofessional

I now keep almost nothing in my account due to the incompetent banking at this bank.  They messed up my account in July and it is now almost December and it is still not corrected.  This was done by a Personal banker and not a teller so you would think they would know how to create an auto payment. Also, the Main Branch ATM has not worked since BMO Harris bought out M and I bank.  does anyone at this bank look at their feedback and correct their issues.  It looks like they just ignore the feedback.

Every time I go to this bank in Eagle River Wi I wait and wait and wait, why only 1 window teller??? I don't get it. May get rid of this bank all together.

I visited the Bonita Springs, FL branch (25 mi from home) to get a cashiers check to send to my daughter in AZ to help with wedding plans. I wanted to write a check but was told "No, we'll just pull the funds from your account plus the ten dollar fee." I received a check and stub but no receipt for the trans action, which I asked for. The teller told me that she couldn't produce an official one so she hand wrote the receipt. I didn't get a warm, fuzzy so I accessed my accounts online via iphone and sure enough no funds were taken from my account. I went back in and this time was met by a supervisor that assured me that all was ok and the machine will not produce a receipt. I told her that I wanted a record of the transaction, so she asked for the ck back and did it all again, producing another ck, still no receipt. Well, all in all she gave me four checks and took back three, and then told me that there wasn't enough in the account to cover it but I had social security deposits that morning. If that was true, then she was giving me cashiers checks that were worthless. Amid my frustration I asked her to get someone smarter than she was to get me a receipt and she said that no receipt was available and now was totally annoyed with me. Finally, she called another branch and a genius explained how to produce a receipt for a transaction, which I left with. I should add that I am a recent transplant from IL and for twenty tears never had a problem or an idiot supervisor like I had today. Stay away from BMO Harris, Bonita Springs!

Harris Bank Manager:

Stopped in your BMO Harris facility at 80 S. Weber Road, Romeoville yesterday 10/3/14 around 2:30 to see if I could get 2 – two dollars bills for my grand-daughters. The teller greeted me and said she had two and then asked if I had an account, which I answered no. She then indicated she couldn’t make that transaction as I wasn’t a customer. At first I thought how rude! Maybe my next question would have been I would also like to open an account or see about a loan. But I thought if you don’t want to serve this simple request how would you serve me if I was a customer? So don’t worry I will NEVER go to a Harris banking facility the rest of my life and I will also educate my children and grand-children and whoever else will listen as to why they should not bank with BMO Harris.
No need to reply as any future business with your facility and BMO Harris will NEVER happen. But you may want to look at your practices for other potential customers who may over look your current policies.

PS: Drove down a mile to Chase banking facility who my son has an account with and they were more than happy to accommodate me. Looks like if I ever need any future banking needs Chase will get my business.

The only reason why I bank at Bmo is because I am disabled and it's the closest Bank in walking distance.  The hours are very inconvenient (no Saturday lobby hours and drive through closes at 5:30). As a result I utilize the ATM machine (located right outside the branch) to conduct many of my banking needs.   I haven't been to the ATM for a 3 months and when I did tonight I couldn't help noticing this ATM has turned into a spider breeding farm. Spiders normally don't creep me out but it was quite obvious this ATM is not the maintenance guy/gal's friend.  By the size of some (diameter of a dime), the quantity of spiders and number of egg sacks on the machine, the site was truly a scene out of Arachnophobia.  Well, now that I can hardly bank both inside and outside,  I guess I am done with BMO.

Between my home mortgage 4 person & 6 business accounts I use 4 or 5 of your branches to do daily banking. I have the occasion to use this branch 4 or 5 times a month, and ONLY if I need to. I have never know a colder group of people than this branch has, today I was the only car in the drive up I sent my deposits thru and jkaur was at the window. I sat 4 or 5 minutes before I was even acknowledged or my deposit to be retrieved, it then took an additional 6 or 7 minutes to do my transactions. The same transactions can and are done in 2 or 3 minutes anywhere else I go. Todays made me write this but this branch has terrible service with staff that just looks like they all hate there jobs. Ms. jkaur is at the window 90% of the time I do go there and if she is any type of branch manager and you have had other complaints, you might want to fine a back room job for her, she certainly does not process the type of people skills you want to be represented by.

I completely agree with you! They really don't care about customers all they care about is selling an account.they even make fun and talk bad about customers I heard the assistant manager talk bad about many customers once they were out of earshot. Worst bank ever and coldest people ever

I recently went  to BMO Harris bank on odana. Was confused on some policies they implemented that are similar to robbery. When asking about these new hidden fees a Tyler Dunbar became agitated and started being very, very rude to me. He was treating me like I was a stupid five year old. He wouldn't explain why he was trying to take ten dollars from my check. Tyler represented BMO in such a negative way that I will now be canceling my account with them. I will also make sure I spread the word on how horrible the customer service is, how rude the employee was (tyler), and I will go out of my way to warn as many family, friends, and strangers I can on how greedy and tribe BMO bank is. Today BMO lost a 19 year customer. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BANKING WITH BMO, DONT. DONT LET THEM ROB YOU. Hopefully BMO rethink the type of people they hire have represent them.

I've banked with various institutions for the last forty years, running two full-time businesses.  M & I Bank did a fine job for me, but that's all changed since they merged with BMO Harris 18 months ago.  How can this corporation be a giant in the industry?  They are by far the WORST bank I've ever dealt with.  No one else comes close.  Horrific management, inept and uncaring staff, from the lowest employee all the way up to the president; unorganized, unethical, corrupt; this bank is all of that and way more.  I don't know how a bank could nosedive so quickly after a merger, but BMO Harris somehow figured that out.  If you've had the same experiences with them, don't expect them to care about you one iota.  I wouldn't bank with them if they were the last financial institution on the planet!

I completely agree. This so called bank has destroyed my credit by incorrect and fraudulent reporting. They are the most corrupt bank I have ever dealt with. The bank could not even give me my account history since 2012, it's as sickening as it gets!!

the online banking is bad...
I was locked out from online banking for 2-3 days for there error!  no support from branch on this issue.

I do not have an account at this bank. However, was going to deposit a check to my bank in Michigan, but there was not a link available to do so at the BMO ATM on Litchfield in Goodyear AZ.  Therefore I declined service and received my card back. When I arrived home I looked at my bank account with Credit Union One in Michigan and this sleezy underhanded BMO bank CHARGED ME $1.50 FOR NOTHING! How can any bank charge you when they did NOTHING to service your request????

When I worked for this bank’s corporate level, product mgmt came up with a inventive way to make money on interest bearing accts.  Customer’s interest rates are suppose to go up or down according to the fed’s rates.  When the rates change in the Bank’s favor the interest account is impacted that day.  If the rate changes in the customer’s favor, the impact is delay by a week.  This allows them the margin for a week.  The customer never sees this because the customer only receives a monthly interest accumulation.  This company is very underhanded and sleezy.  OOOOOOOOOOh Canada…..
