My husband and I have been weelsfargo customers for about 7 years. I recently lost my job and got in a car accident. As a result our savings account balance went into the red approx. $100. 2 weeks after we first went negative I went into the Loop 288 Wells Fargo Branch with $3500 in CASH appolgizing for our slip up and wanting to square things away on our negative balance. The branch manager Jeremy told me that he would rather not have my husband and I as checking and savings customers but was happy to keep us home mortgage customers (as our a,ccount has never been late) he then informed me my account was frozen and they would hold all the money in our checking account for 2 weeks. He also would not take any of my cash to clear up our negative saving balance or transfer any funds from our checking to cover it.
I would rate this branch as HORRIBLE! That same day I went to Chase with my $3500 and opened an account with them.
I received a call from wells fargo loss prevention appologizing for the managers unprofessionalism trying to keep us as customers. We declined.

I've had the same checking account with WF between 15 to 20 years. I've had several mortgages with them and still they have the mortgage to one of my homes. Last week I went into a local WF mortgage location to re-fi another house but the difference in the monthly payments wouldn't have been significant so I left things alone.
I liked Wells Fargo that much to send them as much business as I could. This week however things changed!!
Monday: I went to this location to send out a wire transfer and to prevent a payment from posting and was told to open a savings account and transfer the funds into it. Then I was told to keep (withdraw) the funds because the checking account would pull from the savings account, so I withdrew most of the funds in the savings account but left enough to cover any inbound checks. Being after the cut-off to send a wire (1:30 PM) I was asked to return the next day and they could send it then.
Tuesday: In an attempt to wire out $944 I was told to place the funds back into the checking account so I did. Before placing the funds into the account three checks posted and bounced costing me $75 in overdraft fees. Seems even though I was "advised" by the bank that funds would be pulled from the savings account OOPS, they forgot to enable the savings account with overdraft allowing the transfer to the checking account. So I could have left all the money in the savings account which would have then allowed my wire transfer to have gone through. With the overdraft charges I no longer had the funds to send the wire so I left and returned with more cash. At this point I was again told everything's fine and the wire is ready to go. Before I left I phoned Wells Fargo and they did credit me with half the overdraft charges ($37.50) which might sound fantastic but if it wasn't for the bad advice of *** and the forgetting to enable both my accounts together I wouldn't have gotten the first bounced check in my life of almost 60 years.
Wednesday: I receive a phone call from *** asking me to return to the bank, seems someone forgot to have me sign the outbound wire. I went to the bank - signed the paperwork and was told several times not to worry the wire WILL go out. I asked if I should return or call to verify it did but was told again, it's not necessary the wire will go out.
This wire transfer was to a company that oversees 12 world-wide businesses I do business with from home. If they don't receive payment within 72 hours after the close of the transaction (24-hour grace period) the account is blocked and any credit cards / addresses / phone numbers associated with the account are (as they say) blacklisted.
Thursday: That evening (not in the AM) after seeing funds back in the account I paid another mortgage and withdrew a few bucks.
Friday: I connect to find I no longer have access to any of my business accounts. I call one the most recent customers to find they didn't receive payment for Sunday's account (You know, the $944 wire that I was promised would go out two days ago). Again I go to WF and ask *** why didn't the wire go through but the bigger question was "Why wasn't I called or contacted?" *** said she'd find out as I waited for her return. After 24 minutes (no kidding, 24 minutes) she returned and tried to tell me there wasn't enough funds in the account and she proceeded to tell me how wrong I was while she pointed out the errors of my ways with the printout of my account. As she continued I pointed out she was looking at the wrong dates. Once she realized this (and she did) she really had nothing to say. By this time knowing not only has she caused me to get the first bounced checks of my life but her ignorance of her own job has caused my business accounts to be blocked permanently. Well with all this and her sitting there still denying any wrong-doing on her part I started getting pi$$ed so I asked her to go back to School or maybe get some training that would prevent her from doing this to anyone else in the future. Yea, she didn't care for that bit of truth and while only raising her voice slightly that was enough to get me going. I wasn't able to finish the third string of %#&^ I was throwing her way before being asked to leave.
I only dealt with one person throughout all this so while the tellers are probably highly educated and very helpful, beware of the only female sitting at a desk in front of the offices.

The 2nd Avenue Wells Fargo has by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Led by Randall Pollack, the branch manager, the employees at this branch are uninformed, rude and completely unhelpful. I recently called this branch for 30 minutes before the phone was answered.i was transferred 3 times and ended up speaking with a woman whom I was told could transfer funds from one account to another. We spoke for ten minutes before she decided she could not perform this task. After receiving no return call from the manager, I called the branch at 1st and Steele. The phone was answered immediately by a pleasant, knowledgeable person who transferred the funds. I will be banking at First and Steele from now on!

I was referred to Wells Fargo for a first time home loan and my initial visit was a good one and I thought we'd be off to a good start. However as the process took place and they pulled our credit I was told I had to bring in a few things to clarify some questions on my report. I had student loans that are in deferment at this time so they needed a paper from the loan place to know what the tentative monthly payment would be I inturn get that info and took it to their office. She said then tells me that she will look over everything and get back to me within the week. It's been 2 1/2 weeks and I have called many times and left numerous messages and still no return phone call. It's frustrating enough to buy a home, let alone have a loan officer never to return phone calls after pulling credit and I have to start the process elsewhere. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WELLS FARGO in Yakima, WA

I'm pretty sure that the only person at this bank who knows anything about banking is the manager, and that is doubtful. I spoke to the Operations Service Manager, and they said they were "not a banker." I spoke to No. 2 and they might have well been a Jiffy Lube Asst. Mgr. Had never heard of online brokerage. A staff person took a message from me and completely misspelled my name so bad. So these people don't even get customer service.

Get a load of this. I wrote a check to my sister and I only put her last name on the check. She signed the check and tried to deposit it in her bank account at the Mequon Wells Fargo. The bank would not let her deposit the check because her first name was not on the check. She went down the road, opened a new account at another bank and deposited the check. This bank is filled with idiots.

I have had nothing but problems with the Mequon, Wis. Wells Fargo bank. My husband and I had our mortgage with this bank for over 20 years and we had our business checking account with this bank for 30 years when I made the big mistake of taking $400 in cash into the bank and asking to buy a money order with the cash. Because our business checking account only had my husband's name on it, the Mequon Wells Fargo refused to sell me the money order. NOW REMEMBER, I HAD THE CASH IN MY HAND. The people in this bank are completely nuts. We closed our account and got a new mortgage. I am done with them. My friend just told me that she tried to deposit money into her kid's account and the same bank refused to take the money because her name was not on the account. How dumb are these people?

This is for the branch office on Wisconsin Ave Bethesda.I had a very bad experience with my application for a home equity loan. The representative Genta Bela, did not wait for us to submit complete documentation but sent in an INCOMPLETE application resulting in a rejection, and a black mark on our credit.
She never returned our phone calls either. Do not do business here if you value your financial standing.

I wish we would have read the comments prior to securing a loan from Wells Fargo. By far the WORST customer experience I have ever experienced from a financial institution. The customer service rep responded with "how am I supposed to help you?" when I wasn't prepared to provide her an accoun number. She refused to use other acceptable information to confirm my identity. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she indicated "she will tell you the same thing". I did finally speak to a supervisor and a request was sent to another area for research (still no resolution since 9/18). By far the worst experience. I will NOT refer any of my friends, co-workers to Wells Fargo in the future. The service was completely unnacceptable and left me feeling like once I signed on the dotted line, that I was no longer important to the business. I am in the process of writing letters to the executives. I'm sure I won't hear anything back but maybe the feedback will help someone else.

I have numerous accounts with Wells Fargo. My husband and I both have retirement accounts with this bank. One of my accounts only has my name on it. I wrote my husband a check for him to cash. He went to this location to cash it. They denied him. They told him they are saving their cash for THEIR checking/savings account holders and that he was not a customer. He told them he is and he has a retirement account with them. They still denied him and sent him 10 miles, round trip, away to a larger branch. Isn't this place a bank? I called and complained and they told me that there is not much they can do. So, even if you are a customer, your not counted as one.

On September 4, my husband and I went to a Wells Fargo bank (Arden Hills Branch, MN) to transfer money into our bank account in Japan. Things went pretty smoothly and after about half an hour, the banker named Mr. K., who was quite courteous, told us that the money had been credited into our account. He even gave us an exact amount of the money we received over there in Japanese yen. And I thought, “Wow.. this was fast and efficient. Maybe Wells Fargo has a superior international wire transfer service to other banks I’ve been using previously (US Bank, HSBC, TCF and JPMorgan-Oanda)!” Too good to be true; I should have known, right???
On the evening of September 18 (exactly two weeks afterwards), I went online to check my Wells Fargo checking account, and found out that there was a sum of money from an “incoming wire transfer” sitting right there. Suspecting that this was the money we “supposedly sent” to Japan, I walked into the Arden Hills Branch the next day to ask why the money was returned (with $200 less and with $35 fee deduction = a total of $235). Another banker, named C., who was available at that time, told me that the bank in Japan (Sumitomo-Mizuho) returned the money because they didn’t have the Japanese account’s branch number/address information. Imagine how surprised I was!!! This had never ever happened before with my money transfer experiences even though this wasn’t the first time we transferred money overseas. I’ve been doing this so many times in the past 17 years. I have always made sure that I had all the information the bank needed. Besides, a copy of the print out that we got back from Mr. K. showed exactly all the necessary information (our Japanese account’s branch number and address). The only mistake we made was perhaps that we decided to transfer the money via Wells Fargo since we just opened an account with them last year, and we wanted to try….
Worse, Mr.C. even suggested to me that perhaps my bank move to a different location without our knowledge. Well.. that probably could have happened had my bank been located in the Republic of Congo or something, not in Tokyo, Japan. Accompanying me to the door, Mr. C tried to reassure to me that “Wells Fargo is a very good bank!” On my way driving home from the bank, I was thinking to myself, what Mr. C probably meant was that the bank has been pretty good to him, but obviously not good to me.
Feeling absolutely certain that we did nothing wrong, I went back to see Mr. K., who had originally done the money transfer for us, and asked him whether the bank would credit my account the $200 which was deducted during the failed transfer. He said there wasn’t anything they could do. He said he had spoken to the Arden Hills branch manager who offered $65 “Customer [Dis]satisfaction Guarantee” to me. But not a refund of $200. Wow!!! And I’m supposed to be happy with the $65 “Dissatisfaction” money. I decided not to take the Dissatisfaction guarantee money. Again, walking out of the bank yesterday, I wasn’t exactly sure how I should feel.
This morning (September 21), I called twice and tried to speak with the Arden Hills’ branch manager again. A lady answered the phone and took a message. So far, I have not received a return call from him or her. After reading other people’s blogs, I have settled to the fact that I should not expect a call from the branch manager. I just lost $235. If I donated this amount to a charity, it would have been tax-deductible, or if I played scratch to win (scratch to lose, in this case), I would have felt differently.
With all the contact numbers (four telephone numbers and one email address that Wells Fargo has on our account), they claimed that they couldn’t reach us to alert us about the problem. I later checked my Verizon usage bill and found out that ONE call was made on September 14 (10 days after the transfer was initiated) to one of our cellphone numbers but we happened to miss it. No other attempts were made to contact us. In fact, if Mr. K. had looked at the original copy of the transfer request form carefully (the copy that he gave to us and we signed on), he wouldn’t have had to call us at all, as the information re: the branch number and address of the Japanese bank account was actually there. In addition, we ended up having to call Sumitomo and Mizuho several times to find out exactly what had gone wrong. They told us that Wells Fargo bank didn’t give them the branch’s number and address.
If I had to find out all by myself two weeks later that the money wasn’t actually sent, what might happen to other people? Luckily, my in-law didn’t need the money immediately. She wasn’t hospitalized, ill, financially distressed or anything like that, but what if this was the case? A thought of the possibility of any of these sends chills up my spine…
Now, as I’m still contemplating a loss of $235 (which is probably gone for good), an amount that equates a yearly income of many people from a Third World country such as myself (I’m originally from Thailand), I’m seriously thinking that if this could happen to me, what about other immigrants in the Twin Cities who need to transfer money to their family members overseas. How might they be affected by Wells Fargo’s incompetence and unprofessional practices in international banking business? Is it just this branch, is this just one incident, is it just our bad luck or is this problem pervasive? I’m also wondering about those who don’t speak English very well, or those who are less educated, but have loved ones who depend on remittances, or who need the money urgently (eg. being hospitalized, or houses being foreclosed, etc.) Those who have banks far away, or in small towns, not in a big city like Tokyo, Japan.
The immigrant population in the Twin Cities area is rapidly growing, and any unethical/incompetent practices in international wire transfer by commercial banks such as Wells Fargo, which basically don’t care much about their customers, could potentially ruin our life. And, I don’t think the media in the Twin Cities have ever covered this issue.

I came into the branch at The Lakes Drive on 07/24/2012, Heather Hoang-bank teller tricked me to open accounts for my teen-young daughter so she can get production credit. She lied to me that they are having a promotion that they will give my daughter $25 and will credit it onto her account if she opens the accounts today. As of today 09/21/2012, after many texts and I finally spoke with her manager Victor about it and he said she made a mistake, the promotion has expired and there is no exception. They told her that early last month. So Heather Hoang has been leading me on for months and not saying anything. She gave me run around answer and kept telling me that she is talking to her manager about it and she said I suppose to get a coupon at the ATM when I do $100 withdrawal then bring it in to the branch and cash it. So she lied the whole thing to buy her some time. It's only $25 and this is how they tricked you to open accounts with them. It's not even for me, its for my daughter. I have been Wells Fargo customers for 15 years and I will cancel all my accounts slowly and go somewhere else. This is how they playing games with you and they did not even apologize. After I confronted with Heather Hoang, she told me to give her my daughter's account number so she can deposit her own $25 into my daughter's account(isn't this illegal? Is it call Rebating?), somebody needs to do more investigating on her. She can do a lot of damage to all accounts holder! She did not even apologize or accept her fault, she said "I am giving it to you with my own money", she sound like she is so generous, she wants to cover her mistake and does not want to get fire. I told to keep her own money, I do not need her money. She said she is trying to be nice and trying to help me out and she has the audacity and said I am not appeciate her for trying to help me. The sad part is that she does not know what she did wrong and she does not know what is the meaning of INTEGRITY. I do not understand why and what kind of people they are hiring at Wells Fargo. They need to hire a person with Integrity and honesty, they are handling our money and personal information! How scary it is...

And the day came for me to say "here today to close my account!"
One day I had to request an interview with an agent in person to guide me the steps to open another account, escrivi my name on the waiting list like everyone else, there were only two people on call, I sat 10 minutes waiting not called me at all and passed newly arrived people, bank employees came out to meet them, looked at the list and it was as if customers chose, and my husband and I were ignored. decided to leave.
other day we had an obligation to enter the second time the bank and a person of color, I do not remember the name, but never able to forget the face of that person, as was the manager, we scored we did the same in the list and turned the expected most horrible of our lives, he came out all nasty and told us they were very busy that if they want to wait. was decided to wait because I need to close my account, but the Lord was talking and talking and laughing with another bank employee without having the slightest option to assist us.
that bad time. decided to leave.
the third visit in August 3, 2012 I could close my account with that bank
reason: themselves, (which my husband and I received was discriminant)
that day a man named oscar the manager responsible for opening and closing accounts, a pathetic man and difficult to tolerate for his performance of galarneria.
He welcomed us and already know that I went with the intention of closing my account, rather wished we had the audacity to ask us to stop passing the other person who had just arrived, that day we were with our children, they were already bored of waiting
.
This was already an insult, but the other party refused to accept that "choice" made by the manager, and decided to make it clear that we were on the waiting list for a long time.
Through our interview to make their work seem forced, I mean the manager, the (Oscar) step card twice for a machine in your office, saying he saw no problem and that all was well, that would take days on account close, and the entire balance was zero. redirected us to the window to pick up the money and the cashier told us the wrong done right? if that usually happens. a very low voice
I just shook my head thinking that I was gonna go back to that place never ever set foot,
but NO!
Mailed NOW SAYING: BY PASS CARD THAT DAY I HAVE an overdraft .. SAME DAY THAT I closed my account, (what a nightmare) (THAT FRUSTRATION)

I have banked with Wells Fargo for 8 years. I opened a small business 3 years ago and have used their merchant services during that time. Due to the economy, I am always looking for ways to save money in business. I cancelled my MS the beginning of July 2012. Their statements run from the 1st day to the last day of the month. It's September 14th and my account was charged "Back Billing" FEES. And I was told this could go on for several months. When I called and was forwarded to a "relationship manager" she informed me my account WAS cancelled but some fees are a month to 2 months behind. REALLY? Went to the branch...wow, big mistake, The Branch Manager was off and I was referred to Business Accnt Mgr. who proceeded to do nothing but call Merchant Services and hand me the phone to repeat my story. These charges caused an overdraft in my account this morning so they agreed to credit my account for 2 of the NSF charges. Funny, when I checked my account a few minutes ago, they had been reversed. It must of been because when I left the bank I informed them of the domain name I just purchased this morning wellsfargomerchantservicesscam.com. Anyone doing a search, this shows up first in the search engine. I left an unhappy customer and have since opened another business account elsewhere. I will dispute the charges even if it means going to court to make them prove it.

The Wells Fargo Bank located on Chester Pike,Sharon Hill Pa 19079, has unethical procedures to handling their own technical difficulties. The bank mistakenly had a $-80.00 onto my checking account. For I have not withdrawn $80.00 out of my account, but they expect me to call technical support and file a claim.I asked the banker, "is there any way the branch can handle the problem?" They gave me a number to call and told me to file a claim and it will take 8 to 10 business days.I trusted them with a check i deposited, but instead I received a -80.00 in my account then they sent me on my married way and basically told me to handle it myself. It's their job to fix problems if the bank itself is in fault, not the customers.I thought customers are always right? Not to mention the Commerical Co whose ck I was cashing, is a NUN, and why would she lie and call me and tell me that WF called her and told her I did not show my ID so they would not be crediting my account! I am really put off by this!!!!!! So I called WF and they said oh no we didn't tell Sister XYZ, we were just confirming the ck. OH REALLY THEN WHY WOULD Sister XYZ tell me that WF wasn't dep ck because MY ID DID NOT MATCH CHECK. What vengeful people!

The service is extremely poor. I ask for a wire transfer yesterday and I have to full out the wire form myself. The other banks like Chase bank the banker full it out for you. All you need to do is verify and sign.
The bench manger Tanya Spencer has no customer service skill. I ask her when the wire is going to go out. She said 24 hours. I went to the bank yesterday at 3pm. The teller told me that the wire will be sending first thing in the morning. My escrow company called at 11:45am today that they still did not get the wire. And Ms. Spencer said the wire will go out maybe tomorrow... I am mad! I am count on the wire to go out for closing escrow and now it might not close because Wells Fargo poor service. Let’s not get to the fees that they charge....
