I have tried twice to establish accounts for legal purposes and they have been unable to handle it either time. As a result they lost significant accounts to another area bank. The bank officers seem like teenagers and cannot handle anything different. I agree with the other reviewers that they are untrained.
I am seriously thinking about moving my account.

On 3 separate occasions this branch has managed to "misplace" our deposits. The only reason we got our money back was because my husband saved the receipt.
This is the worst branch I have ever had the misfortune of banking with.

I'm amazed at the rudeness at this branch. I used to be a WF customer in CA but left because of their customer service. I went today to buy a $25 box of pennies, as my kids collect old pennies. The woman very rudely let me know this would be the only time I could get one, as they only do that for their customers. Her attitude was horrible, to the point that I felt quite embarrassed and wanted to run out. I am a potential customer, and this bank would be much more convenient for me, but I'll never waste good business on any organization that treats current or potential patrons in this manner. I'll continue driving one town over, thank you. The only five star rating WF deserves is for consistently, as they are apparently just as rude no matter where you live.

We have over $40,000.00 in this bank. We are "platinum" members. Yet, when we arrived at this branch on Monday, afternoon April 2nd JUST to get a piece of paper notarized, we had to wait for 45 minutes for someone to take care of us. Lots of people were shuffling around doing various things and we continued to wait. We were told "you are next", yet people who arrived after us were taken first. Finally, after complaining twice, a "supervisor-type" lady took care of us. Her response, my all time favorite every time I hear it, was "sorry about that" (which always sounds "so sincere"). I would change banks if I didn't like their on-line banking system so much. Arrrgggghhh.

After my father passed away, my mother had to go to this bank to close his account. She was given the run around so badly and even after the account was supposed to be frozen, the bank allowed all these charges to go thru, some of them FROM THE BANK itself. The account was overdrawn at this point and when my mother went in to collect the money on the account, they informed her about the overdraw. My mother explained to the employee that this account was supposed to be frozen and there should not have been any activity. The bank never took the charges back (even their own!) and the employee was very MEAN AND UNSYMPATHETIC with my mother. (Which honestly upsets me more than the money stuff! No one wants to hear that someone was mean to their mother!) No regard for what she was going through and the tons of paperwork that comes with a death in the family. This just added a ton of unnecesary stress and was really just cruel. None of our family or friends will ever bank there again!!! My Mother wound up not fighting anymore about the charges because it was too stressful and upsetting at the time and she didn't want to deal with a very rude employee anymore. (She was unable to get anyone else in the bank who could help her.) She should have gotten a couple thousand dollars to help pay for the funeral out of this account. But the bank thought it was more important to fill their own pockets. Stealing money from a widow is not the way I would want to do business. Someone at this bank messed up and didn't want to admit it or pay for it, and my mother didn't get the money she had a right to have - and needed too! I suggest banking elsewhere - there are other "small town banks" in the area who will not only get to know you personally, but who will care more about you, help you when you need it most and who will always do the right thing.

I am absolutely disgusted by Wells Fargo. District manager for the Wells Fargo's in the LA ~ Beverly Hills region - SHABNAM EBRAHIMI continues to harass employees by her scornful demeanor. She consistently belittles her employees and treats them in a self-deprecating manner. If your work is excellent Ms. Ebrahimi ignores it, and continues to treat you like trash. I am disgusted that poor employees have to suffer her wrath and live in fear, just because we can never report her to Human Resources since she is “district manager”—and DM’s, my friends, never get reported or reviewed. Be a warning to any CUSTOMER or EMPLOYEE - the Beverly Hills District is CORRUPT. BE WARNED!

Most of the time the employees are really nice, but today the lady at the business counter totally blew off my question about my way 2 save account. I was in the middle of a sentence, and she interrupted me to talk to the guy behind me (I was being helped), and then proceeded to have a personal conversation with someone else behind the desk. I don't was to invade her privacy by giving her name here, but it started with a J. Being busy is no excuse for blowing off a customer thats done business with the company for 10 years. I'm pretty ticked off. I miss your old business counter guy, he was great!

Offensive customer service reps and Rudy Alaniz
Overall Rating
by sadlydiscontent, Mar. 29, 2012
The customer service representative (if you could call it that) was offensive. He actually laughed when I told him I was in a hurry because I needed to pick up my disabled son from school and only needed 2 rolls of quarters in exchange for a $20 I had in my hand. I have never had to wait in line at another branch to get rolls of quarters when I have a corresponding bill. Are the employees at this branch trained at all on how to speak to clients and/or what services would be deemed "normal"? It certainly doesn't seem so to me. I called the branch to make a complaint, and accidently called another branch, which was very apologetic and couldn't understand how a Wells Fargo Enployee could react in such a way and she was determined to speak with the employee. At that point we realized I had called the wrong bank. I then placed a call to the right branch, and after branch manager Rudy Alaniz had me placed on hold for several minutes, he never returned my phone call. I'm sure there are people who are unemployed who could be hired to replace these incompetent and offensive employees. I have been a WF client for many years, the holder of several accounts, and have never encountered such shocking behavior.

I feel like I was manipulated, when entering the Wells Fargo bank in basking ridge, NJ , holding a folder, an overly anxious personal banker asked what did I need. I said a cashiers check, and then proceeded to the teller. I was met with a $10.00 charge because, after 10 years of banking with Wachovia, I now have the wrong account for Wells fargo and they would have to charge me for the cashiers check. The teller said this can be solved by seeing the personal banker from earlier. I sat down with the personal banker, who quickly made me get a new checking account and then without asking gave me a money market account, and took my saving out of my way2save account and put it in the money market, NEVER explained there has to be a balance and that 75$ montly must go into the account from the checking. Then told me to pick out checks for my new account, said they were free. He also said when you get the new MAC card throw it out, it is useless, NOT true my old MAC was ONLY linked to my old account not my new one. Never once did he listen to why I did not want a new account, never once did he explain the money market account, and the checks were not free, 10% off. I went to another Wells fargo a week later, they closed the money market account, put my money back to the way2save, and said that he the personal banker did not have to open a new account, just give my old account a new name. I am still have problems getting all my direct deposits into the new account, and I am in fear of bouncing a check. This personal banker, must have had personal gains to opening up these two accounts, with out ever explaining anything to me. I feel that I was scammed in a way, and if the 2nd Wells fargo bank I went to, did not graciously apoligize, I would have taken all my money out of the bank that next day. As well as my childrens who also have separtate accounts with Wells Fargo. Please teach your employees, that customer service means everything being honesty and having integrity is what is important.

Ok, I understand they have an overdraft fee but why take money out of my account for credit card payment THEN put it back in THEN take it out again??? One overdraft fee is $39, they accumulated $117 of my hard earned money!!!
And when I went to talk to a banker, he saw I didn't sign up for billpay, he signed me up without my consent! He tricked me, he said let me see your credit card just for a second? And sign there and I'll just show you how it works. THE WHOOOLE TIME I WAS SAYING I DON'T WANT IT! DO NOT SIGN ME UP FOR IT! Then I went home and saw in my email "Welcome to wellsfargo billpay". THAT'S JUST RUDE! HOW DARE HE! SUCH AN AGGRESSIVE SELLER.

On March 1 2012 I went into the bank to have them move my IRA to another bank that was paying a reasonable interest rate. After cheking around I found Wells Fargo was the lowest of the lowest so I decided to make the change. They told me it had to be done through their processing center take 2 days to them 2 days to process. So a week give or take. Seems crazy but I was OK. 10 days pass still no moved IRA. I visit the bank go through the entire ordeal again. They call the processing center. They claim it never came in. (note sent via the bank through their own ccurrior). They agrred to have the Bank fax the paperwork and would deal with it quickly but still 2 days+2 days. Another week passes and I go to check again. Guess what? Still not moved . This time they tell the banker I am sitting with that they wrote the other bank a note saying they needed my account number to do the trasfer and told me that I needed to go to the new bank and get it. I did imediately and they politly showed me that that number was on the original document they gave me on March 1st so there should be no proble. They called the Wells fargo Branch and I was told to come right over and they would take care of it. I did and went to the person they told me to. It was if they thought I was crazy and treatemd me like a fool. I eventually got their attention and they said they would refer this to the same person who handled this and they would get on it the next day. I demended a phone call to validtae what was going to be done. On March 22 I received the call and they said they recontacted the processing cente and they were going to expedite it. Here it is the 27th of the Month and Guess what? No transfer.
I am ready to scream but thaey would not care. I will be making another visit today for the last time.I will cah the darn IRA if needed take the tax hit and get my Money from those thiefs. Avoid them like they were the Devil. By the way My wife calls them the Devil BanK!

Waiting Time
by Kerrvert, Mar. 27, 2012
Yesterday I used the drive up and deposited a check. The man who took it disappeared. I waited. And waited. And waited. Nobody said a word, nothing. Did he forget I was there? After about 5 minutes I started timing. I would have left, but he had my check for $25,000.00. He finally reappeared, took the check off his counter, gave it to the woman teller next to him, then disappeared again. She finally made the deposit and said "thanks for your patience." Total waiting time: about 10 minutes. (Also, no treat for my little doggy, who always gets one.)
About 15 minutes later, I happened to look at the deposit slip. It said I made a deposit of, not $25,000.00, but $2,500.00!!
Needless to say, I hurried back to the bank and they corrected the deposit. Were they mortified? Extremely apologetic? Not at all. "Sorry" was all I got. Can you imagine what a hassle it would have been if I didn't happen to look at the deposit slip??!!
I'm changing banks today.
And no, on my return visit there was still no treat for my little doggy.

I came to the branch only with intention to ask their policy and procedure regarding new account. The door guy greeted me with smiles and offers of water, candies , and coffee. Jerry's impressive and genuine knowledge in and around banking aspects made me decide to open an account, not just checking, savings as well. The greeters, tellers had given me the best customer service I never experience with B of A, and I'm short, ugly, driving a very old car. What am I missing?

WORST Branch Ever in West Linn
Overall Rating
by ugottabkiddingme, Mar. 23, 2012
This is the worst branch of a Wells Fargo that I have ever been to. No matter how simple of transaction, you are going to wait at LEAST 10 minutes, per customer. So you are guaranteed to wait 20 minutes if there is even one car ahead of you. They have terrible customer service. The lanes are so narrow that unless you want to hit a concrete pole or drive over the concrete lane divider, you can't leave the drive through if you are so frustrated that you feel like smashing your head on the horn. Also, there is no ATM in the drive through. This place is the worst. I could get over bad customer service and narrow lanes if they were even a little bit faster. But a 20 min (or more) wait to cash a check...I don't think so.

I've been a WELLS FARGO customer for a couple years now and this is by far the worst branch I've ever been in, these people are most unfriendly bunch of lackeys’ that are not willing to help you or go out of their way to be of any useful service. This is the perfect example of banks run badly and if any of these people had any self respect they would know how to treat a customer, this WELLS FARGO branch would not even do normally banking activity that any other branch would have performed without hesitation and with a smile but not these guys. If I were you I would avoid this bank at all cost there is many more in the area and trust me you will not care to bank here, these people are rude, not efficient, only worried about going home and not satisfying any of your banking needs.

If you're divorced, widowed, or simply new to banking, beware. I had an account with Wells Fargo Bank. Yes, had. I had previously given the bank permission to transfer monies from my savings to my checking account to cover expenditures. The bank took that as license to allow my debit card to work even if there were no monies to draw from in either account. I am Bi-Polar and take medications that impair my memory, which means that it is more difficult for me to keep track of important information like my account balance. I manage to login to my account at the beginning of each month to see if I have received my disability monies. This is pretty much the only time I remember to check the account balance. This month like every month my online statement clearly showed that I had received the anticipated monies; however, this month the bank had taken half for overdraft fees. My question to the banker was, "How do you let someone living on a fixed income spend what they don't have, and then charge them for the privilege?" The banker seemed to think that I was lying about not agreeing to overdraft protection. She kept asking for the piece of paper that I had signed. "What paper?" I asked. "My card should stop working as soon as there are no longer any funds to draw from since I can't afford to pay any fees." Even though I insisted that I had signed no overdraft protecton agreement, she blatantly
refused to return my money to me. I reminded the banker, before I had her close my account, that I couldn't keep track of over expenditures due to the medication I'm on and the resulting memory impairment. I also reiterated that with such a tiny budget I had no monies left over for fees. Looks like peanut butter and jelly for the rest of the month.....yum. I wonder if my two small dogs will feel the same with all of their allergies. They maintain a healthy lifestyle as long as they consistently eat ZD Ultra. I have 2 1/2 cans left, so I guess they'll be eating less in order to eat the rest of the month. I'll start shopping today for an institution that DOESN'T use deception in its daily practices. Remember, buyer beware. I whole-heartedly agree with the review referring to Wells Fargo Bank as "thieves."

I got bought by Wells Fargo - I never would have chosen them just from investigative reports I have seen about how they have ruined the lives of innocent people trying to save their houses. W/F is a horrible excuse for a bank. Their Winder branch has a very arrogant manager, Chris. He is so ignorant & rude & don't know how he ever got hired, but then again, W/F standards are very low. I ended up send a 6 page letter to the President of Wells Fargo after several phone calls to their corporate office. They didn't even have the guts to respond. I have closed all of my accounts & moved on. I am so sorry for the people that have to deal with those THIEVES. They have a monopoly also over HVAC service companies as they are the only CROOKS you can finance with. When they go down I hope they go down HARD!!! STAY AWAY FROM WELLS FARGO!!! How sad for the founder - they have ripped his beliefs to SHREDS.

International wire transfer scams facilitated by Wells Fargo

On 3/14/2012, I was told by the Sellwood Wells Fargo bank manager that "upper management" has instructed their employees not discuss anything with me regarding an incident described herein. Since then I have been passed off to several of Wells Fargo Bank’s chain of command and was finally asked to contact a person in California “in writing”.
On 2/2/2012 and 2/24/2012, my 71 year old mom who is on a fixed income, wired transferred $45,000 and $80,000 respectively, to a country in west Africa. One banker at Wells Fargo who helped her with both transactions never “tried to stop her” or “warn her” that the transaction she was about to make could be fraud.
I understand that Wells Fargo’s bank employees are highly trained to identify fraud activity and have strict policies in place to handle cases where fraud activity is suspect. Unfortunately, one of your bank employees did not follow protocol and as a result, my mom and dad have lost every dime of their IRA savings and are now moving out of their home.
Oregon Attorney General John Kroger announced that in 2011, international money transfer scams is listed as one of the top three complaints on the Oregon Department of Justice's annual Top 10 Consumer Complaint List. In my mother’s case, one Oregonians’ loss represents 12.3% of the combined total of Oregonians who reported losing $1,016,583 due to international money scams in 2011.
The tragedy doesn't stop there.
On 3/13/2012, Ed Teachout a reporter with our NBC affiliate KGW, investigated the crime against my mom (http://www.kgw.com/news/consumer/). My mother told her story despite her shame and humiliation. Tom Unger, Wells Fargo Bank’s spokes person, told a story too. Tom Unger told the viewing public that "three employees tried to stop the transaction" because they "suspected this was a case of fraud”. Mr. Unger, as a knee jerk reaction, went on the "defense" and lied on camera without getting the facts straight first.
Here are few things I would like from Wells Fargo:
1) Clarify what happened on the two dates 2/2/2012 and 2/24/2012 by reviewing the surveillance video. My mom only worked with one banker, Nick, for both wire transactions. Surveillance video would discredit Mr. Unger’s public statement that “three employees tried to stop the transaction”. Without discovering there is a “hole” in the system Wells Fargo will not implement procedures to protect future customers from devastating loss.
2) I would like a formal apology from Mr. Unger in a follow-up story Reporter Ed Teachout is going to air next month.
3) I would like to know what written policies are in place to deal with instances where bank employees suspect there is fraud, do they document that the customer was warned? Or do they simply state that "this may be a case of fraud" and continue with the transaction? When bankers state they “tried to stop” the customer, what is the specific action that is taken? Does the bank employee check for a secondary contact listed on the account, possibly a son or daughter? As a matter of fact, I am listed on as cosigner on a secondary account of my mother but no phone call was made.
4) I would like to see Wells Fargo to adopt a uniform protocol that will ensure this will not happen to other innocent people. As it stands the current procedures that are in place are not working.
5) What will Wells Fargo do if the truth came out that a Wells Fargo employee failed to act and then lied to conceal their failures.
The tragic part of this story is not only that my mom was scammed, is that it could have been prevented. There were professionals who watched this happen and did nothing.
Because internet crimes are getting more systemic and sophisticated the fight against international money transfer scams must involve the commercial banks that are the conduit to the success of their business. Until banks are held accountable for facilitating these money transfers nothing will change.
