I started going to UB in Ellington two years ago. I found them very friendly and helpful. One thing I was grateful for was when a new teller approached a customer wanting a withdrawal, they would ask for ID. However, once they knew you were a regular, they would not ask for an ID again, which helped me because it was a chore for me to take out my ID. It also made me feel welcomed there as well since they knew I was a regular.  Every teller has shown that they know me now. In fact, I have had brief, general conversations with just about all of them! All very friendly!  Today I go over to one of them for a withdrawal and I am asked for an ID.  I replied in surprise, "Don't you know me?" His answer was, "Ma'am, I deal with a lot of people!"  His tone was ice cold.  So, I had to  work at getting out my ID which I would have had ready if I had known.  If this is a new process, I understand, but I had no warning, and now I feel rather unwelcomed at this branch and I certainly do not feel comfortable going to this teller again and plan to avoid him "IF" I can!

This is a bank with good old fashion service where everyone treats you with respect and appreciation whether your a white or blue collar worker.
Both my husband, my self and our grown children have used Rockville Bank for over 25 years.
Wether it's been for mortages, savings, checking accounts and my husbands bussiness they always advised us well and have gone the extra mile out of their way to accommodate us. I can't say anything negative about the services we've received over the years.
I even received a call when a large check written by me was questioned, just to verify that the person cashing it wasn't scamming me.
This act was done with no hidden fees behind it as well.
I tip my hat off to the tellers, managers and the people at top for keeping it real when they tell you that both you and your business are appreciated.
I would and have recommended this bank to many a person never having it to come back and bite me.
All the branches I've used have been complainant free.
