U.S bank branch was in our nearest safeway branch so we had opened a bank account and had an equity line of credit, all they had done was charged us and over charge us with fees when i had just gotten a bill to pay they would have withdrawn it from my U.S bank account.
Mispelled names on our  title was never corrected until we refinanced.
Please do not use U.S bank.

A $36 overdraft charge on a 18 cent sales tax charge......ridiculous

by diehardcowboy, Feb. 21, 2015

Not only have I been a satisfied customer in the past I have recommended US Bank to my friends. That will happen no more after being robbed by US Bank. So I can't argue too much with the $36 overdraft charge on $80 ATM, although I understood it wasn't possible use a debit card to take money out of an account that was overdrawn. BUT WAIT, the account wasn't overdrawn...the "available balance" was negative. But I will complain about that some other time. Because it was not an US Bank ATM, they charged me $2.50 for a service they didnt provide. (again another issue for anothet day). US Bank has the disgraceful audacity to charge another $36 iverdraft fee because of the $2.50 (non) service charge overdraft. And to further prove there is NOT one part of their corporate being that respects their customers....There was an 18 cent sales tax (yes 18 pennies) on that $2.50 servicer charge upon which they levied another $36 overdraft fee. On ONE $80 ATM withdrawal, US Bank charged a total if $106 in overdraft fees. Is this really the kind of bank any of us wants to do business with. Please copy this and forward it with your comments to your Congressman.

There have been an number of issues with poor service at US Bank.  Like asking for a letter to change and automatic deposit when they closed my account for a "credit breach" without telling, my phone or email.  I called, mention of Home Depot, but did not acknowledge the lack of communication. I went into the branch to complain, and then "magically" a second account was closed but no one could tell me why.  Then I used the ATM for a third account, and it took my card.  Three accounts in accessible with no one to help. As I sat in the bank, the person who had not written the letter as promised was making eye contact with the person I was talking to "BEHIND MY BACK" glancing at him repeatedly.  I finally left.

The last time I called the help number to ask them to look at my account and give me a summary of checks written that were being held. These checks were written through on-line banking, and the payees were telling me they had not received them.  The 800 number person was very rude.  She took the attitude that US Bank was not slow in mailing on-line checks, despite the information I gave her from vendors.  She finally asked, "Why do you bank with us if you are so dissatified?"  H-mm, good question.  I am in the process of changing all of my accounts - even the one with the huge amount of money in it because I just sold my home.

My advice, just bank with someone else.  It will be less frustrating because I am sure there are banks that are not as inept.

I have been a US Bank customer or over 25 yrs. In preparation for a long vacation I needed to increase my overdraft cover to prepay all my anticipated bills. My income, in addition to S/S is all investment property/rentals, and in the high 6 figures. After bein passed to 4 different depts., I was told only $1000 ! We have a credit rating over 800. Never a late payment of anything in 50 rs and zero credit card debt. Its now over a week since the said the would increase by the $1000, and still waiting. It used to be customer orientated which is why I went there. No longer its lost its credibility. Terence Savory.

Made a moderately large deposit to our account and was handed a receipt and told to have a nice day.  What I was NOT told is that they are putting an over a week-long hold on the funds, and even then only part of the funds will be released.  As a result we are going to have our first over-draft in decades.  The USBANK customer service people were useless, and I was pretty much told "that's how it goes".  We are changing banks to a local chain that understands people are clients, not numbers in a computer, and that customer service matters.  They don't think outside of the box, and they certainly don't solve problems they create.

I ran into a US Bank customer at DU who was traveling and used the US Bank ATM on campus.  The ATM ate his card and he was stuck without access to cash.  There was no one at the DU branch, so I called this branch to help him out.  The people were very rude, didn't want to help and promulgated a "not my problem" attitude.  Mary even hung up on me telling me it's not her branch.  The other person I spoke with just put me on hold for roughly half an hour and probably forgot about me.  I spent an hour trying to help these poor folks out who were guests here in our country to no avail.  I don't normally post reviews but I wanted to make sure that others knew of how US bank conducts business.

I just wanted to make a comment in regards to the US Bank located at 3500 W. 63Th St and ask or suggest that this bank needs some improvements to the facade of this bank.  It really looks so plain, the little landscape (3 dry unkept evergreens) is all it has.  It almost look like a white box.  The drop off box HAS A WOODEN COVER!!!! almost like a foreclosure house.  Its so sad that theres actually people banking in such a nasty looking bank.  So if you are making profit out of your customer, I think they deserve a better looking bank.

Got letter from them ask to pay a overdraft fee, with I didn't not overdraft, the US bank overdraft to charge for them to close one of my account, even though I have 2 other account with them, before they told me won't have any fee to other account since I had saving account with them.  Yes get the $30 for they want, take all me money out, close all the account. So wish still with charter one, had with them 12 years never have problem. The hinsdale branch manger just a rude and mean. Also have account at chase, they are so nice.

same here..
U.S. Bank in Temecula California charged me $417 in fees within a month.
they breached H.R. 1261 - overdraft protection Act of 2013, saying "it doesn't apply to your business account".
i opted out of overdraft protection upon New Account Setup; Hence they didn't apply it to my business acct without "Clearly and conspicuously disclosing" (as stated in HR1261) it to me.
we bought stuff like we normally would (like my wellsfargo account which has the option waived as well) thinking there's money in the account since AMAZON (they dropped the ball too) is supposed to fwd our HARD EARNED money bi-weekly.
US BANK CHARGED ME $417 on purchases totaling approx. $195 in a course of 3 days, expecting me to listen to their accusations: something in the line of "you should have not spent the money when it wasn't there and now expect U.S. bank to change its policies for you!!!" UNBELIEVABLE!!!
After calling US bank's 800 #, their rep stated "Mr Haf... we do have the option to opt out of overdraft protection! who said you couldn't?" and he went ahead and removed the option so that negative purchases do not go through.. just like I wanted it. He then stated "branch mgr. has to remove the overage fees. I will contact them and have them call you".
I waited a week...
What do I get?
NOT A CALL
But
A Letter from BRANCH MANAGER & teller opened my account stating "In accordance to US Banks acct agreement & general terms and conditions they elected to CLOSE MY ACCOUNT!!!!
I called 800# back. gentleman wants me to contact district mgr. by email only!!!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I did email her. guess what? NO REPLY YET. it's already been 24 hours.

My teenage daughter received a $80 check drawn on US Bank for babysitting.  She took it to the branch in Albertsons on North Phoenix in Medford Or.  They were going to charge her a $7 fee for cashing the check, even though it was drawn on their bank.  Thank you US Bank.  I GUARANTEE I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS AT YOUR BANK

My experience from day one with Matthew who has no people skills was not pleasant. He has a flat affect, never smiles and very arrogant. I presented my situation regarding a deposit that was refused at his branch which was a tuition refund check issued by a reputable University. I took the check to another location who had no problem depositing the check into a savings account. When I went back to tell him my experience he pretty much dismissed the situation and stated my the employee who helped me at another location violated company rules and risk their job. That was very offensive, inappropriate and unprofessional. I questioned why would they do such act? He had no additional reply to this question.  I am hoping that if the dissatisfied reviews continue to post, customers will take their business to another location. The staff is slow and do not know their left from their right. Cerritos location is a great disappointment. The bank has the nerve to solicit their business on school campuses what the hell?

by GoodbyeUSBank, Dec. 18, 2014

I have banked with US Bank for over a decade.. I am closing all my accounts now. It appears that the bank staff doesn't know the banking rules. A check from US Bank deposited into US Bank account is placed on hold for 7 days and that too after 4 days when the check from another bank would have cleared if a hold was placed. There is one personal banker and one manager besides the tellers in the entire branch. Checks are returned even when there is money in the account and returned fee charged. When tried to get this situation corrected, the teller with an attitude told me to talk to a personal banker (the only one) and it could be 20-30 minutes before she can even see me.

This bank should not even exist in the competitive USA. I am closing both my business and personal accounts and moving to some other bank. Extremely terrible service and attitude. In all honesty I think, it is not the staff at the branch, it is their management. The bunched a number of people with pathetic intelligence level with rubber bands and called it the US Bank

This branch would be alright if it had a better staff, but the staff here is terrible. The only person I met here that actually helped me with my needs and was nice was Laura, but everyone else is just rude and unprofessional, and I don't know how the branch manager there got into her position because she's the worst of them all and is very unhelpful.I travel a lot, and this is by far the worst branch I've ever been to.

Cottage Grove MN.
The Loan Office Sarah made error after error on my line of credit loan application. We started this process first days in October and I was just approved for my loan end of November when she stated it would take about four weeks. She dropped the ball on spelling my name correctly, to having my property appraised. Sara (US Bank) set up the appraisal and I scheduled it the very next day. About three weeks later I get a letter from US Bank telling me they are going to cancel my request for a line of credit if I do not get the appraisal complete. US Bank contacted me...when it is the Bank that sets this up. I contacted Sara again to find she had no idea what I was talking about...again. A monkey could do a better job at filing the paper work. I do not know if it is the banks fault for not training Sara, or Sara's fault for answering questions blindly and thinking this is my first rodeo. I called her out on each error she was making allowing her to make it right, and not once did she ever apologize for her errors or misunderstanding of the words "develop the property". Two months later the loan is done to find out I cannot use the loan because they filed it incorrectly for the type of use that I have planned. Not only did Sarah fail at doing her job, her manager seemed to be lost in the confusion of what needs to take place. I questioned this loan as many as five times or more, up to the date of closing and there after and they assured me that this loan is exactly what I need. ONLY by me calling another bank and asking them questions and bringing up my concerns did I come to the conclusion that this bank just has to many young people working there with no structure on manors on how to treat a valued customer. You see, I get letters all the time saying I am a valued customer. Now get this.. I opened up a bank account also when I closed my loan to do a auto pay. I deposited $500 to open the account, when I went to close it, it only had $499 and the teller told me that is all she could give me. I asked where did that dollar go, and she could not explain. Her comment " It went to a on line payment, she could not give me my five hundred back". Well, not my on line payment, I did not do one. It is like the auto insurance commercial.. I want my buck Young Lady. Though out this entire time I asked to speak to her manager for her not to allow me to. I had to call the 24/7 hot line because she was not returning my calls. When I did speak to the bank manager I asked for his managers phone number and he also did not give the number to me. It is a secret. I think someone needs coach this bank on how to treat customers.
$100,000 line of credit cancelled and one checking account along with missing out on three more accounts had this all went fair. If any of the bank managers read this, I sure would like someone to contact me to review how this bank failed at almost every corner. The disrespect for a valued customer to even withdrawal the amount they deposit, to the point of Sarah not even once admitting that maybe....just maybe she missed the mark on this. Sarah I would address you personally but you would not come out of your glass bowl office.

I have had marvelous treatment in dealing with the US Bank in St.Germain, WI.  The folks there are very helpful and friendly.  I have had immediate assistance whenever I needed anything.  I was able to get an auto loan transferred to them immediately with a much lower interest rate than what I was getting from Ally Bank. They provide very personal service and I would highly recommend them.

US Bank is pathetic.   Very poor customer service.  I have never experienced a business with worst customer service.  I have been waiting for three weeks on US bank to mail a copy of my Boat title to my state DMV so I can Sell it.  First they supposedly sent it electronically to the wrong location,  Next, I spoke to 4 different customer service reps, who all lied to me about where they sent it.  All 4 employees failed to do so over the next four weeks.  After each call to ask them to send send duplicate of title, no one would ever follow up with me on the status.  Finally, I started asking for a supervisor to help me,   The supervisors would talk with customer service reps, but refused to talk to me or provide me a number/email to reach them.  All they would do is put me through to their voicemail and ask me to explain my situation over and leave a number, but each time the supervisor would fail to return my call.   I have remained calm and polite to everyone that I have spoken to at USBank, but it has not done any good.  They are not completing their responsibility and providing the information I need to sell my boat.    I certainly did not foresee these problems with buying and financing a new Boat.  If they have this much trouble mailing my title, I definitely don't trust them to serve as my lender. I will NEVER EVER even think about using this HORRIBLE INCOMPETENT bank again.FOR ANYTHING.NO ONE APPEARS THAT THEY WANT TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM OF GETTING MY TITLE.

I,personally, have been quite satisfied with US Bank. I have had only 2issues since being with them and both times they were immediately resolved with 1phone call. Maybe call a corporate office... seems all the negative feedback is coming out of the midwest???

This week we received notice via the online banking process that our password no longer matched what they have on file. Curious! We have not changed the password since opening the account almost four years ago. Suddenly it doesn't match? Why? Who? When?  We, now, are to enter the system to reset the password? How about USBank explaining what happened to their system and why the change!

We have been going through this same issue with our vehicle title. Moved to a new state and needed the title sent to the DMV to register and get new plates. It has been well over a month of calls to different people, multiple trips to DMV, and we have yet to get the issue rectified. It is really concerning as we should have gotten this squared away the month we moved and our plates from previous state will expire soon. This is our family’s only vehicle. It’s a huge waste of our time and a nightmare, especially because you have no control over which bank services your car loan. The service reps are pleasant on the phone, but their internal processes are a joke.

I am the executor and trustee of my cousins estate. I went into the Bank to close out any accounts my cousin my have had.  He had an equity line of credit available but never activated it.  I tallked to the banker showed all the documents and she assured me he had nothing open and she aoted this so there could be noe fraud using his information.  Now two over two weeks later we receive a 25 dollar bill for keeping his account open after I shut it down.  The Carla in their customer service was no help she just said we have to pay it even though I informed her my cousion dosent exist and I closed it before the billing cycle. I am now talking to my dad who ran the FDIC in Wis. on how to get this bank to do their jobs correctly..

Dealing with my husbands passing, trying to close his accounts. The branch manager Dorian had a smirk on her face the whole time, and got maher attitude with me. I've been to 2 us banks today and they have sent me on a wild goose chase out to the courthouse for documentation. We show up at the bank with the documentation and she tells us it's not right.  We've been with this bank for over 12 years and have never been treated this rudely. The clerk of court is telling her she's wrong and she is telling us that she's wrong. I would think that in a situation like this a branch manager would be qualified to handle this situation appropriately and correctly.
