FRAUDLENT WITHDRAWALS ARE ACCEPTED AT THIS BANK

A fraudulent withdrawal was made on my account at this bank. The person went into the bank and made a withdrawal slip and forged my signature to the slip. They were given $700 from my account with no questions asked, no ID checked, no signature checked and no debit card. I filed a report with the bank and was told someone would call to speak with me. I called and emailed several times over an 11 day time period and not a single person ever called or responded to my emails. I received a letter in the mail stating they were denying my claim because I was negligent. How am I negligent when the banker is the one who authorized the withdrawal? Isn't it normal for banks to check ID's and signatures or ask for the debit card to make a withdrawal at a bank???? Why did this not happen? The statement that is branded on their websites says this, "At Truist, our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities. That happens through real care to make things better. To meet client needs, to empower teammates, and to lift up communities." Clearly everything they claim to be is not true! IF they cared they would at least take the time to investigate this incident properly and hold the appropriate persons accountable. Instead, they have chosen to blame their inadequacy and their clear lack of training of their bankers on to the customers. All I asked is that they investigate my claim and they couldn't even honor that request. I'm sure they have cameras in the establishment. How difficult is it to look at a camera or even speak with the banker who made the transaction to see what is going on? Why didn't she ask for an ID? And if a fake ID was given, why didn't she check the signature? Why can't you look at your cameras and see who made the withdrawal? DO NOT BANK HERE!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND ALLOW ANYONE TO WITHDRAW MONEY FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!!

Sadly, 20+ years experience with BB&T now Truist. The Truist migration, although supposedly seamless to the customer, was far less so. We bank not only personally but for several small business' we have owned over the years through Truist. Add to that usage a substantial commercial loan several years ago and several residential home mortgages as well in the last 20+ years. I have also used the affiliate BB&T Insurance for various business insurance needs. We have a substantial history with the now Truist Bank. As we have dealt with several branches in 4 States now, Truist in Murphy NC may be one of the worst branches that Truist has. It is trypically chronically understaffed and thus the staff is often under stress which translates into a poor customer relations experience quite often. They have no patience with you on the phone no doubt due to often having a backed up line of customers to service. Try sitting in the lobby to speak with a relationship banker...best to take the afternoon off as it typically is a ridiculously long wait. Often banking issues go either unresolved or a partial kidney donation is required to beg for assistance. Not returning calls seems to be the status quo for this particular location. The scariest dealing with this branch was when i turned over the details of my entire financial portfolio to the BB&T Financial represntative and then could not get return emails or phone calls responded to for subsequent actions/follow-up. Had to seek out other resources to handle my financial needs. Run of the mill branch visits often are stressful as well as the "I want to assist with your banking needs/issues" seems to not exist much at this branch. Much of this attitude I discern as mismanaged scheduling initiatives wherein the staffing is often overwhelmed by business cycles/volume. I hope that i am correct in this assumption and that it is not just a cultural issue (referencing poor customer relations) for this branch. Alas, I have too many tie's to this bank due to my various business accounts but Truist, at least this branch, has been a huge disappointment in customer service and friendly can do atmosphere. If you're new to the area and looking for a new bank, maybe one of the other local banks may service your needs better. Check out their ratings and as always...buyer beware before you purchase. Buyer remorse afterwards is frustrating.

I miss the old BB&T Bank & services before the merge.

A big inconvenience in many ways almost every time.

1. Atm Inconvenience mutiple different times restarted w/ error after I deposited my checks the atm ate my debit card after hrs. Now I've got to contact and re-enter all my payment info with every buisness again the 5th time. 1 occasion they gave me a temporary card and it got stuck inside atm.

2. Disaster, dangerous, small parking lot. Make sure u go after hrs because customers leaving have to sometimes wait until lines of cars wrapped around building move along.

3. Very long lines inside some days there's people standing all the way outside waiting 5 - 10 mins til they can get inside the bank door.

4. Drive thru even worse. The line stretched blocking customers from leaving and interfering with dental buisness next door. Other blocking cars from getting to atm.

5. I've called numerous times past couple months nobody answers or returns my calls.

After the merge bb&t changed overnight in Covington Ga. Why didn't they keep the building on the square? The parking lot and building was over 5 times larger.

Note: Heads up Don't come here between 1 - 3 of the month and don't ever drive in the parking lot when its busy while pulling a tralier. Parking lot is too small.

I have been trying to work with Truist for a couple of years now on an account of my mothers (I am her POA) & the customer service is horrible, no follow through. The men are rude, inconsiderate and just assholes.  I call Truist number and they can find information the employees in the bank can't seem to find. I absolutely hate trying to work with them.

Truist Bank - WARNING

Do not under any circumstances bank with Truist.  They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life.  I am not even going to reiterate the multitude of issues I had during the beginning of the merger between Suntrust and BB&T.  However, I will make the point that I was with Suntrust before they or BB&T even existed.

First, I have a letter from them telling me at the beginning of their merger, they were changing my accounts to a new account that did not charge late fees, overdraft fees, etc.  I actually received this letter the very day I had an auto draft coming out of my account and was planning to go make a deposit to cover it.  I am disabled and often not feeling well, so I thought, since I will no longer be charged any type of fee for overdrafts (up to $100), I would wait until the following day, when I hoped I would feel better.  

The following day when I pulled up my account, there was a fee on my account.  The short story is that I called numerous times and also spoke with someone on their chat line.  They refused to refund the fee, telling me the letter was a fraudulent letter, keeping me on hold for over an hour at a time, and ultimately hanging up on me, after I had spent almost 10 hours on the phone with them.  I do want to note however, one of the persons I spoke with on chat did admit to me that they were having a huge issue within their legal department because of these letters, and many people had been complaining about this exact same issue.  I have a screen shot of this as proof of her statement to me about this problem.

Additionally, even though I had never been late on my car loan, HELOC or mortgage payment with them, they raised my interest rate on my HELOC THREE times in a three month period, and cut off my access to the equity in the account.  It now stands at almost 11%.  This is the most ridiculous abuse of power I have ever seen within a financial institution.  I am on disability and cannot possibly afford the monthly payment at this ridiculous rate.  

I tried to remedy this situation by scheduling a call with one of their specialists, in order to modify the rate, payment, length, anything that would help me to fulfill my payment obligation.  Needless to say, they never called at the appointed time.  I tried to call them and ended up on the phone for almost two hours, being transferred to several different departments, and ultimately spoke to 8 people, none of whom would/could help me.  

I am so angry and disgusted by this total lack of support and concern in helping me to resolve this issue. I was the one who tried to be proactive in making sure I would be able to pay my loan without defaulting, and I cannot get anyone within their company to help me at all.

Truist is the absolute worst financial institution I have ever dealt with, since I opened my first account over 35 years ago.  To put it simply, they lie, steal from clients in the form of unjustified fees/fines and have a total disregard for loyal clientele who need assistance to fulfill their obligation in paying on their accounts.  

I have already closed all of my checking and saving accounts with them and will be refinancing my loans with other institutions, once the economy stabilizes again.

Do not under any circumstance trust Truist to look out for their clients' best interests.

Zero stars.  I've had accounts with you people for almost 12 years along with 4 mortgages.  My wife went to your Dawsonville, GA branch to get something notarized for ANOTHER mortgage through your bank.  She was turned away because the person she dealt with said she couldn't find a witness.

I went to the Dahlonega branch yesterday with the same issue.  The lady I dealt with-wait for it-simply had another bank rep sign as the unofficial witness.  Imagine that.

My question is how many years of business and how many mortgages do we need to have with you to receive in return a modicum of competence, courtesy, and professional service?  I ask because obviously the aforementioned 12 and 4 are not enough.

BTW, why do you ask how long a person has been with your bank?  (see below). On what planet would that matter?

Thank you for the stark reminder of the world we live in, where simple competence is at an absolute premium.

Horrible experience. After months of large deposits and wires in and outbound I deposited a large bank check payable to me on 11-10-22 and still blocked and now its 11-13-22 and no weitten explaining why the blocked my account? I reported Truist to the North Carolina banking and they email saying they are elevating their review of my account 31 days after blocking my account. My lawyer is suing them.

I had to move my bank box here due to bank location closure. I have had complimentary bank box for 20+ years. When I moved my bank box there, I was assured that I would have the same arrangement. I just received a bill. I called the 1800 # who said they could not help me and that I need to go into the bank. I went into the bank and they said that they could not help me. This has be one of many maddening experiences with Truist and this location. I miss Suntrust’s exemplary customer service. I am slowly starting to move my business to other banks.

On Dec 9, 2022, I made a large deposit into a relative's acct. Never recieved any verification, nor would the person verify the reciepient's address... although he is my  ONE of my brothers who live in the SAME town as the branch I used! - THe MAIN BRANCH IN WHITEVILLE NC!  I did not ask for his acct number, I simply wanted to ensure the CORRECT acct received the deposit... also there are more than 1 persons in that town with the SAME name!! I'VE CALLED SINCE DEC 9, 2022 -  NEVER GET A PERSON- ONLY AUTOMATED MCH, AND I'VE LEFT MANY MESSAGES WITH WHY I CALLED, MY FULL NAME AND PHONE NUMBER WITH AREA CODE..... TODAY IS JAN 5, 2023 - AND STILL NO PHONE CALL FROM TRUIST  IN WHITEVILLE NC!  PATHETIC DOESN'T EVEN BEGING TO DESCRIBE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will NEVER use that bank -  and I almost was about to change banks - - WILL NOT BE TRUIST -- EVER!!!

I looked at my account online one day. My closing balance was a positive amount, but there were 2 overdraft fees being taken out of  and my balance was still positive. Was given no credit for this. they explained it in a nonsence way, not reality.

Debit card doesnt work.  Customer service waiting time is a joke.  I guess they don't want the business.   I was with Sun Trust for 20 years.  I won't be with Truist for 20 days.

I have had 2 bank checking accounts for 6 years with bb & t since truist took over I had to get new cards, they have screwed up the accounts twice, now I have never received my online banking card. When I went in there last week to get it straightened out, while one man was working on an elderly couple with their credit card problems,  I waited as the other very tall man walked back and forth seeing me waiting. Now I'm am very ill (I am disabled) getting out is very difficult.  Another young man came in as this worker walked by he said to him he's having problems with his apps. That man took him right in his office. I had been waiting for at least 15 minutes at that point.  Couldn't take it anymore so I walked out. Now very sick for over a week later still using a temporary card I tried to order some stuff online and find out my account is closed. I have 124.00 in it. Are you kidding me no letters no calls these people serve who they want to. I'm done ! I will take my banking elsewhere.

BBT is merging with Truist, my mortgage is now with Truist, which I regret! Recd statement stating I'm delinquent by 2 months. Been to my bank, auto withdrawls have been successful for past 3 months. I TRIED, calling yesterday, on hold for 2 hours and NO response as it closed at 8 pm According to statement!  I am again on hold with the Maryland office.
I'm beginning to question if in fact Truist is a United States bank or off shore!
When can I expect an answer,.
My saga continues,  only waited 33 minutes at this writing.

I have been with the same "bank" for over 25 years... Sovern Bank, Crestar, Suntrust, now Truist.  I had several problems with Suntrust, but nothing compared to the problems this final merger to Truist has caused.  I've spent over 5 hours trying to arrange the things that were already setup and working with Suntrust, and they are still not fixed.
I'm not trying to add features... just trying to get back the features they took away when the technology merged in mid February.
Come on!  They had two years to figure this stuff out.  Now they keep apologizing and asking for my patience.  If you don't believe me, just google Truist.  There are lots of people complaining.
Don't go to Trusit.  Perhaps in a year or two when they have fixed things...

I was on hold for thirty minutes,today October 13th at 10:30 am. All I wanted to do was pay my on line bills. The person I spoken I talked to could not help me because they did not know how to tell me to find bill pay. I was put on hold again to try and get a tach person to help me. Again I got tired of waiting on line and hung up. Your face page is poor. The previous was so much better and easy to follow and use. You should go back to it. Us can use Truist all you want but please put back your sign on page the way it was before you changed it. It is almost impossible to navigate this sign in page and find what you want or where you want to go.I find this so hard I am thinking of changing banks that is how bad I hate your new sign on page.

Have been with Sun Trust 20 years. Never a problem. NOW with Truist I can't EVER talk to a person!!!  Evrything is too automated!! Where are the people who can answer questions??? VERY unhappy!!!

Suntrust bank all their staff are very rude a black lady talk to me any kind way she had head full hair weave on her head. I was trying to get a summary statement from Suntrust bank she told me she could give that to me. And she told me find another bank to go get the summary statement! So I am file a complaint on this location 942 HWY 81 East, McDonough,  in Henry County Ga 30252#

Surely, the teller's hair or ethnicity had nothing to do with the quality of service you received.  Your comments tell more about you than about the quality, or lack of, service you reported.

Just spent over an hour trying to get a payoff on my Mtg. Spoke to 4 reps. None were helpful. This was my 3rd call of over 30 min in the last week. They wanted to fax me my payoff. Who has a fax machine at home anymore? They offered to mail me the payoff, but the payment is due in 3 days and they said mail can take up to 3 weeks. I have paid my Mtg every month for 7 yrs online. Now they won’t accept an online payment. They won’t allow me to pay in person in cash, they only accept checks (which I don’t have). They are so understaffed you can not reach customer service in under 20-30 min, once you can reach someone, they can’t or won’t help.   This poorly managed, poorly supervised bank. I still have to find a way to pay the last $130 of a Mtg pmt to be done with them.

Simple Request Turns Into Chaos

I pulled up to the drive-up teller at the Truist Bank located at 2480 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA 30064 to obtain two money orders. I asked for two money orders from my account. The teller repeated back the amount of each money order. After waiting a long time, and watching cars that came after me leave before me, the teller sends me a withdraw slip for the wrong amount. I again reconfirmed my request. After waiting several more minutes, the money orders were incorrect and I even received some cash. The teller complains I'm doing the best I can and quickly made up the excuse the computer did not print the money orders properly. I guess the computer has a mind of its own! Another teller abruptly asks me, "what is the problem?" For the third time I repeated my request to her even though her tone was extremely sarcastic and disrespectful. She sends the container back out to me and tells me to have a nice day!  After reviewing the contents of the envelope, I find my ID, bank card and one money order!! At this point, the mistake is clearly intentional. The rude teller invites me into the branch to speak with the manager.  

As I am walking into the branch I see the rude teller literally run across the lobby into the manager's office with the other money order in her hand and shuts the door. The manager refused to listen to my concerns and facts about the transaction.  He attempts to divert the conversation by questioning me. I tried to explain what happened and he threw the money order at me.  He repeatedly told me if I am unhappy with my banking experience he would be more than happy to close my account. I pleaded with him to address the incompetency of his staff. He was completely uninterested in resolving the matter and instead, thought it would be best to escalate the situation and closely followed me out the door.

The first mistake was the incorrect withdraw amount (understood), the second mistake was a money order in the wrong amount and the cash (easily forgiven but concerning since my request was repeated back to me a few times), and the third mistake was giving me one money order while holding back the second money order and demanding I come into the branch after waiting for an excessive amount of time in the drive-thru (intentional and incomprehensible). And apart from this, the behavior of the bank employees, including the manager himself, is so uncouth, rude and unprofessional that one could easily get frustrated with it. The branch manager and two tellers need to go! They are not qualified to carry out the responsibilities of their positions.

Well,from my car,in&back out,10 min everytime,only one person ahead.Pay Xtra principal on mortgage they fill out 2 slips by hand.Seriously?,#4 bank on east coast,OMG.Went to another branch after veterans day 11/16,1 teller on,im#8 in line. Walked out,closed all accounts,went to credit union. Now I'm in&out in 3min.Paid mortgage,slip popped up from printer,DONE! 2min! I cringe when I must drive past BB&T Banks.

I visited this branch on my way to WV.  I needed to withdraw money from my savings in the form of a check.  I had to tell the teller out loud in front of other customers how much I needed to withdraw.  Then, was given cash, when I requested a check.  The teller told me it would be a $10 fee.  Then, she told me she couldn't count it out it front of me for privacy concerns, and that I could count the cash at the table in the lobby(visible to the customers as well as people outside of the building}.  I've been a customer for 20 years, and that's long enough.  I've had Bank of America accounts, and find they are much more accommodating to the customer.

I use to do business with BOA and decided to switch to BBT(The branch on Lantana and Congress), at the beginning most things were fine,when I had a problem or wanted to have my questions clarified about my four accounts i use to call the manager directly, and that manager assisted me with no problem.( Manager Mr.Christopher who was AMAZING!!!).Once he was gone things at that branch started going down hill. I had to go into the lobby a few times , besides having to wait a long time(she was the only one in the lobby) because the person who was suppose to assist me was to busy laughing on the phone, knowing that not only me but other people were waiting to get there problems resolved, when i was finally assisted the customer service was really poor and i felt like i was one more number . besides the smell of alcohol from Lori.She was unable to resolve my problems and i decided not to deal with it and leave. Now I am trying to decide what bank to go with , BBT will no longer have my business.
