The cashier was rude as hell, and was a low-talker. They charge fees for everything. Why would anyone bank here?
I'm taking my money elsewhere.

This branch Manager makes you wait and wait. This is one of the worst bank to have your business done. This is one of the busiest Branch with the quality of services totally worthless I think I can get better service at a smaller bank. This is a commercial Bank. The service they offer you think that it's great they don't give you a one-on-one attention

Terrible/Unprofessional Employee: Terri Urquhart

I have never had an issue with TD Bank before that hasn't been quickly resolved in a mature manor until today. I went into the Simsbury, CT location this morning because I had gotten a large amount of money broken down the day before by a manager named Terri Urquhart and I was short $60. I went back in hopes to clear up the issue and see if we could both figure out where that $60 was. I was polite and non accusatory towards her and in response Terri raised her voice at me, told me that I wasn't even paying attention when she was separating the money for me because I was chatty with another teller, and she interrupted me multiple times when I was telling her that I'm not saying she is in the wrong I just wanted to speak with her in hopes of us both brainstorming and going over what happened. She also wasn't listening to me when I was telling her how I wanted it broken down, and I had to tell her multiple times. Even after telling her multiple times, she would pick up the stack of $10's when I asked for $20's. Then I asked for a certain number of $20's and she didn't give me the right amount at first. She wouldn't even listen to me when I voiced my concern and that I was just trying to be extra careful and that's why I came back in; to try to figure out what happened and I thought speaking with the person I did the transaction with would be helpful.
I never asked for them to give me the $60.
She was very rude and almost made me cry due to her attitude towards me in front of 3 other tellers and 1 other customer, as she was yelling across from the room at me. Terri then goes and calls the place that I work and asks if the money was right and if there was $60 missing.
AT NO TIME DURING THE TRANSACTION DID I TELL HER THAT I WORKED AT THIS COMPANY OR THAT THE MONEY I HAD IN MY HAND WAS FOR THEM.
This was my personal money and when I went into work the next day, I found out that everyone there knew how much I had in my hand. That is personal information and I am horrified that Terri, a manager, would make assumptions such as this without calling ME instead since I was the person the transaction was with, and blurt out personal information to my place of work.
After my experience with Terri, I am now looking at other banks and will soon be switching over because I do not want to be affiliated with a company that allows their managers to treat their customers with disrespect.
I do want to say that the rest of the staff working was very polite and accommodating to me during Terri's attack. They were all so kind and reminded me of why I have stayed with TD for so long.
I am not the kind of person to write a review, but Terri was openly disrespectful and I will not be recommending TD Bank to anyone while she is still working there.

I went to Td bank in south Plainfield. I waited there for 1 hour for notary. There were 2 ppl working and the worst part is they don't acknowledge their customers. One of them said she ll get back to me but forgot all bout me. They took 3 customers before me and when I thought this can't be appt taken customers so I asked them why didn't you call me, she said oh I forgot u came first. I was in their designated waiting area and they kept taking ppl as soon as they walk in. I mean how can u forget when u told me u r next. Ridiculous service. I waited for 1 hour just for notary. Finally they call me And say we don't notarized photo copies. Nobody looked at wat u wanted to notarized? This is wat she asked... Would never ever visit them

The worst possible customer service I have ever . 1/22/16 my husband called prior to confirm that we had to make a deposit a large check from my mother made out from another bank. The representative stated this was fine as long as my mother signed an affidavit. We proceeded to go to td bank hillsdale and the representative we had was completely unaware of everything we asked. I asked about an account I had, explaining the circumstances around it and he didn't seem to know what he was doing. Then we proceeded onto the large transaction. He then spoke with his manager, Daniel, who told him "it's at my discretion and I say no". We asked if it's possible, he followed and said, "yes, but I said it's my choice and I say no if you'd like to go elsewhere you can ". He didn't even try to be polite or say it's not possible, "it's mt choice " . My mother offered to open an account to deposit the large check, but then the person we were directly dealing with also made a remark of stating "well, if you don't like it you can go elsewhere, I have other customers ". I said "yes, we'll we're currently you're customers and I feel like I have no respect either. We've even compromised on our behalf trying to open the account and you're making it seem like you'd rather not deal with us". I then approached the manager, Dan, and stated, that he was being rude and as a manager he should help alleviate the situation. He rolled his eyes and walked away. I do believe the manager, Dan, showed racial discrimination towards my mother and I due to our ethnicity. He wouldn't confront us, he walked away, made facial gestures and was genuinely rude. Outwardly stating you can do something but choose not too is something you do not do as a Manager.

West Deptford- Management staff Emma Cappilletti does not resolve problems, and doesn't return phone calls. When you show up in person she denies getting messages. I believe that this branch is dysfunctional. In the past we have had good experiences with past managers. Since Emma Cappilletti has been there we have noticed a significant decline in customer service. We will be moving all of our accounts to another bank after the first of the year because of Emma Cappilletti , Vice President / Manager - West Deptford Nj. She is all talk (especially to your face) and no action/ follow up. TD Bank has taken their eye off the ball. People just won't call you back after leaving several messages. I guess this is a consequence of a bank getting too big!

If you knew that the bank closed at 4PM why did you go in the drive thru at 3:55? The teller had every right to tell you what he did. They have to close out their registers and count receipts. If you want great customer service come early! When you work would you stay to help someone- doubt it! You have to come early and have realistic expectations! They close at 4P so get their early! Time management!

Are you for real? That is the most stupid ignorant rely, if drive in hours say closed at 4, well, 3:55 is not 4, need to re learn time!

The worst bank and branch ever.They allowed 2400 cash to be exhausted from my checking account without flagging plus an overdraft if 611 dollars a year ago . Til today I haven't received my money back but I was credited the overdraft. The bank managers are not helpful at all and I question the employees to have access to personal information. 4 days prior to my money being stolen from my account I deposited ache k for 7000 and personally at the branch transferred 2400 in cash to my checking account at this branch. Days later all the money was gone and I was told my PIN number was complimised. I have been absolutely railroaded by this bank and this specific branch. Week later I closed all my accounts and transferred to chase who which is the best bank ever. I feel absolutely protected now however I am still waiting for my refund

The inaccessibility of any individual on the week-end (the only time available to me) to discuss meaningful issues with regard to the multiple times upon which money has simply VANISHED from my savings account is maddening. There is no interest in investigating, no one with knowledge or authority on the week-end, and it appears that it is MY responsibility to figure out who and how someone is pilfering money from my account. No help from them whatsoever. If I could give them ZERO stars on three of the rating criteria, I would.

If you ever need to come inside this bank expect to be waiting a VERY LONG time. The staff will continue whatever it is they're doing at the desk, chit chatting to each other without any concern for their customers. They do not even acknowledge that you are waiting there. A week or so ago I walked in and went up to the desk to the woman working there, she was clearly annoyed that I did not wait for her to call me up. There were no other customers there! Why would I think to wait in "line"? I thought TDBANK was supposed to be convenient! I have now had to leave twice after waiting 15 minutes in line without resolving anything. Everytime I come to this bank I leave frustrated. I'll be looking into a new bank.
Also watch out for the many fees and charges!
The drive through and their hours are great though!

Joined the bank over two years ago. It has been one disappointment after another. This bank will not go out of its way to help anyone. Final straw...I wired $17,000 to the bank. Since the bank that wired the money put my full name down including my middle name TD refused the transfer. Had the first name and last name correct and the account number but since my middle name was used they said it did not match. I have wired money to TD before using my middle name but they said that did not matter. Now a man has my car I sold him and he got his money back and thanks to TB bank I have nothing.

My husband and I took the opportunity to open and deposit a nice sum of money in our local TD Bank. We decided to this because our regular bank is several miles away from where we moved and only has 1 branch. First impression (we should have left right away) is that we were in a fish bowl. It's all glass and leaves it wide open for a would be thief to sit in a parking lot across the street to lie in wait to rob someone. Next as we were opening the account the person helping did not introduce herself (not very welcoming)as we proceeded through the process she asked not once but twice if we would want to open an annuity, I replied "no". soon there after she made the comment that for "people our age" this is the time they open an annuity or purchase life insurance!I had already explained the first time we were not interested! She open the account and my husband asked if they had passbooks so that when we came in it would automatically add the interest in. She no that is "old school"! She handed me a check register and said I could use that when I came in to keep track. We would only get a statement every 3 months. Then to top all this off she never bothered to say Thank you for our business and welcome to TD Bank! Certainly NOT my bank and as soon as I know our check had cleared I will be WITHDRAWING our money and driving the 40 miles to our bank where we have friendly faces and acknowledge us. TD employee was NOT customer friendly or pleasant! I'M DONE! She also didn't like it that I didn't want the ATM card and she said that because of "our age" we qualify for free money orders and certified checks. Well the only certified check I'll get it the one to close my account and It's forever since I got a money. I think I might have a discrimination complaint. All she would have had to say is you qualify for free money orders and certified checks!

Have had nothing but trouble with home equity loan. Unfair charges were put on for no reason. When I have found a few very knowledgeable staffers to help, the problem is solved until the bank creates another issue. Cannot wait to pay off this loan and be done with this bank.

I opened an account and subsequently after it was opened my boyfriend bad asked if he could use my account for his tax return direct deposit. I agreed because I know who he is and the people from customer service and at the branch said if there was an issue he could just be added to the account. The money was deposited on 2/10/2015 and released on 2/11/2015 and now I'm being told that because of a previous issue he had with a prior account he couldn't be added to the account and they wouldn't be able to send the money back to the company who originally deposited the money. The branch put a hold on my account and told me I had to speak to fraud management and have the hold lifted and then they could see what could be done. I went there on Friday 2/13/2015 and was told that the money could be paid that my boyfriend owed through the direct deposit even though I offered to pay for it in cash. The employee who helped me was pulled away by the bank manager (who is extremely rude and sarcastic) to open the vault and had his coworker reach out to fraud management/collections with no knowledge of the issue. Subsequently she hung up the phone and I was told it was too late to do anything the manager then told me that the original representative would be in on Saturday morning and would handle it first thing well when I went there on Saturday 2/14/2015 he looked confused as to why I was there and didn't start making any phone calls until I was sitting in front of him even though the manager said my account was going to be his first task that morning. So he caled and again they said they now needed to speak to the original investigator on the account to see if they would allow collections to take the past due funds and issue the remaining money to us. Well apparently it was too late again and the department wasnt open and due to the holiday on Monday they couldn't do anything until Tuesday. I called customer service after I left the branch and they told me that they were able to speak to the collections department who would take care of it Tuesday when the Federal Reserve opened. The assistant manager told me Saturday he'd call me Tuesday morning and of course never received a phone call so I called and again he was still waiting to hear back from the investigator. I called customer service again today and was told that I needed to refer back to the branch. I called the branch again around noon and was told that the original investigator supposedly said that the money would have to be returned to the company who issued it. I spoken to customer service again and was told that the information the bank had given me was completely incorrect all along and was told that it seemed like they were playing games with me and not handling the issue correctly. I went into the branch were again I was disrespected by the manager and assistant manager. I have since requested that my money be returned to the original company and that my account be closed. I will never recommend anyone to TD bank because they have horrible customer service and the branches aren't trained properly each representative in the bank gives a different story. Maybe the regional manager needs to send a secret shopper into the bank and see how disrespectful their managers are.

My experience is probably much like many in this country, plagued by big banks being just that, big banks focused on themselves, not their clients. Against my better judgement, my wife and i kept her account here after college thinking, "hey, why not?". On New Years eve, my wife and I decided to celebrate as we hadn't been out in awhile because of our recent addition to our family, our beautiful little boy whom we loved spending time with. My mother in-law demanded that my wife and i spend some time together and offered to take him for the night so we could celebrate my birthday and the new year together. We paid our bills like a normal family, before going out so we could feel better about spending a little out on the town. While out, we had fun, bought some drinks, played games with our friends and celebrated the new year and felt young again, which was awesome! Looking at our account throughout the night it didnt appear that we had gone over in any way. We even deposited a check directly into our checking account. A few days later we notice a charge on our account of $175, not knowing why that money was being taken out. We call and find out it was a lump of overdraft fees that were taken because the bills and our night out had all come out at the same time and our check hadn't fully gone through until three days after causing our account to go under. We have a modest amount in our savings of a couple thousand dollars that could easily have covered all of our bills and our night out, but none of the staff could find a resolution that served us. It was our first hiccup in two years of being with the bank, but all that "they were allowed to refund was $70" at one location but at another the could "only do $35". I understand overdraft fees and what they are for. None of the managers could offer me anything more even though we have been what I would consider good bank customers and made one simple mistake, our mistake being we thought the check we deposited would cover the balance of the bills and our night out. Many of my colleagues have stated that at their banks, it has never been an issue. People make mistakes and their banks understand that. Apparently the "Legendary" service of TD Bank is code word for "awful and we will take your money any way we can". I will be moving my trading account from TD Ameritrade and closing my checkin/savings account in this bank. I would never recommend this bank to anyone that I know.

Ok people, here's what all you "should" have been told:
1) If acct opened w/in 30 days, ne checks deposited from another bank or unknown employer, it's TD's discretion to hold it 7-10 "business days" til it clears;
2) any checks you deposit, if your acct is "over" 30 days old, from another bank could take 3-7 "business days" to clear;
3) if you have enough funds in your acct to cover the check amount you're depositing then ask the teller to cash tbe check & deposit the monies as "cash" to stave off possible overdraft fees;
4) if you are depositing a check drawn on another bank & your account is not new, (over 30 days old), TD's policy is to make $100 of it available to you right away until that deposit fully clears...
v.
*I am a former employee who provided impeccable svc to my customers but due to medical problems & a reallllly Crappy manager, I left after 18mos. I agree, the service you received was "Totally" inadequate & you should email corporate in Mt Laurel, NJ with these specifics. You can find the info on the TD website. Also, even tho all this info is in the deposit brochure you received with your starter folder when you 1st opened your acct, no one ever truly reads all tbat so I always gave my clients those tips when tbey were at my desk, opening tbeir accts. Btw, there was just a class action suit against TD for just tbat same overdraft problem...clients won. I tbink you can find tbe specifics online but I don't hv a link...try googling it. God Bless & Good Luck

For anyone interested in using this bank for a house loan. I strongly advise you to reconsider, even if it is the last one on the block or within a 100 miles. I have been getting the run around as to when my builder will receive his check. I have sent emails and called, but everyone assures me they will get paid. Even today, my house was delivered and still the builder has not been paid. I had to wait for a closing date, after being promised over 6 months, but always one more paper had to be filled out. Our builder has filled out the paperwork specifically how they want it, and still he hasn't been paid one cent! He will not be using your services as well. How can a bank call themselves a friendly service to the public, when EVERYTHING is a delay? NO ONE knows what they are doing. Do not use this bank for any loans EVER. They will procrastinate and give you the run around. I have also looked up reviews on this bank and there are many warnings against using your services. After my house is installed and we FINALLY (after waiting and waiting for closing dates and payments, false promises, etc.)I am going to send my complaint to the Better Business Bureau against your customer service department and competency of your bank. If I had known, I would have waited and used someone else! Please heed my warning. Thank you.

I moved from ny to nc, I submitted a notarized letter requesting to close both my savings and checking accounts as the nearest td branch is 78 miles away from me. No one knows what happened to my request and online customer service keeps telling me to call my branch. By the way, when I call my branch in NY they pick up the phone and hang up. So frustrating.

Tried to re-finance my home through TD Bank but the reprsentative was incompetent. I eventually went elsewhere.
The biggest problem I had was incredibly poor information associated with the establishing of a trust account. I was told that the trust needed certain language. After two trips to the bank and 3 weeks time, I complied only to be told (twice) that the trust language was insufficient. I was trying to put $500,000 into a TD account for this trust.
Because of the delay and wrong advice, I went to Wells Fargo and in 45 minutes the trust account was set up.
