John Spiegelman went above and beyond and probably saved me from changing banks. I run a business and am always in an extreme rush. Plus I was aggravated because this was my 3rd trip for the same issues. He did what he had to and finally took care of what I needed and kept his professionalism the entire time. I wish they'd keep 3 people on the line at all times.

They offer a SERVICE to all their GOOD customers that is such a disservice. I am contacting the newspaper they will love this article. You need to have the money in the bank to cash a check but have the worst credit and be overdrawn continuously and you can take all the cash you want out of the ATM. That is a servie we offer our GOOD customers. Then we wack them with a huge fee.

ummm of course u have to have money in the bank to cash a PERSONAL CHECK from ANOTHER BANK!! whos gonna be responsible for the money if there is insufficient funds in the acct that the check was written from?? if it is a payroll check or certified then u dont need the $$ to cover it but every bank is like that!! what r u gonna say to the newspapers lololol?!?!?

So... you are contacting the newspaper because you brought in a foreign check to cash against your account at td bank that did not have sufficient funds to cover that check? Because it doesn't quite work that way.

Opened a checking account on Thursday deposited a payroll check.and I can't get access because it hasn't clear. And I know that's a lie. I cash this check at a cashier and they made me wait ten minutes that was how long it took to clear. So now it's Tuesday and it still hasn't clear I have bills that I needed to pay and I can't.Every other bank I've been with is great never had this problem. This bank is really awful. I should have known better.

Hunny a check takes 5-7 business days to clear. It goes through a process where td bank accepts your check for deposit, sends the image through to back office operations to process the check, they send the image after the process it to the federal reserve, the federal reserves sends the check image to the bank it was drawn oN, that bank sends notice to the federal reserve saying we will or won't pay item, federal reserve sends back to td to say item is or isn't cleared, then td bank gets money for the item. all of that takes much more than 10 minutes. Plus your account os very new. Td bank doesnt have much a relationship with you yet to take a chance on you and say ok your check is usually good so I'll take a risk. Toi would be surprised how many corporations don't have money in their accounts. When u go in front of a cashier at a check cashing place they have a system that facilitates them cashing that check for you. They are not banks.

Everytime I go into this bank it is a long wait. I'd just like to once go in and deposite a check without being frustrated. It's true this is not a convenient TD the manager never smile she has attitude problem with employees and client. When is busy she never helps, I'm tired to do business with Shrewsbury ma location

This bank charged overdraft fees for a check deposited on Saturday that they did not deposit into the account until Monday. I asked the teller Sandy and she stated it would be available at midnight. The federal reserve is closed on the weekends and holidays, making it physically impossible for banks to fully process checks. That's why you must wait until Monday. Standard procedure at all banks and credit unions, no way around it.

Had a misunderstanding with my accounts when I opened them and also when I went to link the accounts together. Didn't want anything to bounce. I had a problem with what I was told and what actually happened. Lisa in the Middletown branch near Red bank was awesome in helping me. I was a customer service executive at one time and know good service. Lisa gave Excellent customer service. I received up dates until my resolution. Keep up the good work.

About a year ago I went in to deposite $500.00 into my checking account due to checks I had writen that day, and wanted to make sure cleared. I gave the teller my drivers license, and he deposited the money. No sweat. But a few days later I go to withdraw money, and see my account is overdrawn $200.00 (I had previously told them I do not want overdraft protection on numerous occasions, yet they still cashed the checks, and charged me the fees.) I was furious, so I waited until monday and went in to talk to them. They had no record of my deposite, were rude, and did all but accuse me of lying about the money. Finally they called in the teller that had assisted me, and he remembered the transaction. After investigating, they realized that he had deposited the money into a non profit account which I am on the board of directors for. I had to jump through hoops to with the non profit due to the withdrawl, and fill out a bunch of paperwork, which was inconvinent. To make matters worse, after acknowleding that it was THEIR mistake, they still insisted I pay the extreamly high overdraft fees. I was so pissed off I just cut up the debit card, and refused to acknowledge the debt. It ended up costing me a few points on my credit report, but it's better than yielding to a bunch of thieves. I WILL NEVER bank with this bank again, and I will warn everyone I know what a horrible bank it is. I am now with wells fargo, and am completely happy.

I totally agree. I am closing my account - after more than 10 years! The customer service is atrocious and Branch Managers are ineffective! I personally was treated as if I didn't know what was going on and there has been no attempt to quickly rectify my ongoing problem with my account. Impossible to speak with any above Branch Manager level for satisfaction. I'm sure this note will go unnoticed as well. They really don't care!!

I love this bank. All the staff are friendly. They are even pet friendly. Yes we are a small town, but we are also business minded but people oriented. he bank is always clean, the staff is helpful and they are always friendly to everyone. My entire family banks here, some even have a different account elsewhere but always maintain an account at this bank. We would not have it any other way!

I love this bank. All the staff are friendly. They are even pet friendly. First the bank looses my card for my safety deposit box,
then they think I don't even have an account or box there.
Then want me to tell them the name of the person who set up the box. Then they say he isn't there any more.They asked me everything but my height and weight. Something or everything was not right. I removed my belongings from the box,(even though it wasn't mine but I had the key!) They then offer me 2 years free if I return. Then send me a late fee notice.

I was a client but left due poor services but what really bothers me now is if I want to cash a check that is from their bank they charge a hefty fee.

all banks charge a fee to cash for non customer... BoA is $10.. TD is $7 WF is $8 (i think...it might of gone up)so to protest 1 bank for that is pretty ignorant on your part.. youre upsetting your clients on something that you have no control over. Its the real world get over it.. every business needs to make money.. im sure you have some charges your clients dont like but they accept it bc youre doing them a service.. same goes for banks and all business.

Hefty fee? It's $7. If you have a business how are you going to the bank to cash checks? Shouldn't they be made out to the business to be deposited to a business account? Because then there are no fees for that.

Carol will talk about your MONEY, your personal banking "style", what SHE feels is best for YOU, and NEVER in a discreet way! The way I bank is NONE OF HER BUSINESS! Also, as I was waiting for service on a cold day, she offered the person BEHIND me a cup of coffee! I'd rather she not give me her phony bs and just shut her mouth and take care of business. I don't want the whole town knowing my PERSONAL business! I have since opened another account in another town. As soon as I can, I will be moving ALL my money there as well! Good riddance!

I've been with TD Bank over six years and my overall experience at TD Bank was great. Most of the time staffs were very friendly and welcoming. Recently, I went to the bank to cash out big amount of money and was disappointed by the service I had received and even felt very discriminated. This friendly guy teller was helping me out and I guess he had to discuss this with other lady teller and this lady teller was just plain rude. She was stating something like "why is she getting so much money out" with an attitude and annoyance as if I can't understand her, and she was speaking this loudly. So for some reason I apologized and explained myself and lady teller just completely ignored me and rolled her eyes. At that moment I don't know why I have apologized and even had to explain myself to her. I mean it is my business. So while this guy teller went to go get some cash, I checked my balance on mobile app and noticed that my account was low in balance. So I asked if I can deposit some of the money I'm cashing out into my account and this lady teller was making side comments like "oh now she wants to deposit" as if I can't understand her again. So when I heard that comment I explained myself to her and she just completely ignored me as if she did not hear and walked away into the other room. I've been with TD Bank over six years and my overall experience at TD Bank was great. Most of the time staffs were very friendly and welcoming. Recently, I went to the bank to cash out big amount of money and was disappointed by the service I had received and even felt very discriminated. This friendly guy teller was helping me out and I guess he had to discuss this with other lady teller and this lady teller was just plain rude. She was stating something like "why is she getting so much money out" with an attitude and annoyance as if I can't understand her, and she was speaking this loudly. So for some reason I apologized and explained myself and lady teller just completely ignored me and rolled her eyes. At that moment I don't know why I have apologized and even had to explain myself to her. I mean it is my business. So while this guy teller went to go get some cash, I checked my balance on mobile app and noticed that my account was low in balance. So I asked if I can deposit some of the money I'm cashing out into my account and this lady teller was making side comments like "oh now she wants to deposit" as if I can't understand her again. So when I heard that comment I explained myself to her and she just completely ignored me as if she did not hear and walked away into the other room. I have had the worst experience with TD Bank. They have constantly created issues that I have never had with a bank. When I called this location and spoke to the manager I have never talked with such an unprofessional woman. She was very very rude and not helpful AT ALL. I could go on and on about all of the issues I have had within just ONE YEAR of banking with them. TD Bank is not a good bank AT ALL. I will never go back to their banking system.

I have been with them since they were carolina first- it has been 10 years- I never have issues- Any bank runs a shadow line of credit, that causes them to charge overdraft fees- its inevitable- how about not getting your account so low that you mis calculate- and the other thing is this- by your comments earlier they can sue you under the UCC- for many reason be careful of writing a bad rating- in my book they are top notch!!

You're rediculous. They can't Sue her for writing a review. Ever hear of freedom of speech? Nothing was said that was threatening or illegal. And TD is not "top notch " . Obviously you work there high up and trying to give better ratings to them. WHY else would you be on here if you didn't have any particular experience to rave about? Or did you get paid a pretty penny to raise the rating? I do not bank at TD and never did (except when they we're commerce, which I did like), however, I know of 3 different friends with 3 different experiences in which they were nowhere close to being top notch as you say. For those reasons I will never bank there!

I have had a checking account here for years and then they played funny business with a PENDING charge and bounced one of my checks -- to a CHURCH. I am depositing paychecks twice a months for THOUSANDS of dollars and they bounced a tiny check because of something they THOUGHT might clear.
SO I went in to inquire about overdraft protection. The customer service rep seaid to open a SAVINGS it was the only way to ensure and there would be an automatic transfer of my funds if needed. What a joke.
Put $5000 in savings and as soon as my account ran low they...bounced five checks!!! Yes, because something pending came in. PENDING!??? And again to my church and others. I was FURIOUS. When I called and said there is FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS SITTING IN SAVINGS the woman said - "Oh the rep who did this works in another branch now. He opened your savings but never connected it for overdraft."
Nevermind my embarrassment. Frustration and the fees they had the nerve to charge me. There is ZERO accountability. I had to fill out the same paperwork AGAIN and now it is supposedly linked - while I change banks NEVER AGAIN TO TD.

I loved the convenience of this bank, and it takes a lot to get me angry. But yesterday my landlord called me saying I was 20 days late with my mortgage payment (yes, mortgage. Not rent) I have a home that is owner financed. I have good credit and I make sure all my bills are paid on time. On April 4th when I went in to pay my April mortgage, the teller (who was particularly annoying, telling me i should smile more) wrote MY account number for the deposit INSTEAD of my landlords. He called me 20 days later asking where his money was. I was embarrassed, and appalled. How could a bank make such a careless error when it came to half of a thousand dollars? She should have ceased annoying conversation and been more careful with my money. Not to be rude but all the poor guy wanted was his monthly payment and I was completely humiliated.

I don't see why you would be humiliated after you found out what happened because you did pay it. There was just a human error and mistakes do happen. The employees are so pressured to make personal transactions. People endlessly complain of how they are unfriendly and they don't try to personalize and the service is robotic etc. So i think the teller tried a little too hard with that and made a mistake in the process. Still a bummer though :(

Use the TD Bank in Forest Hills for Commercial and now private banking. Staff is always prompt to answer questions both in person and on the phone... manager is awesome. Interest rates... Meh... where aren't they! Very personal and wait time rarely more than two minutes!
