The Branchs Supevisors never answer the email, in Genarl the jHospanic Community have a divriminative institution in the area.

I have been banking with Citibank since 1985. One of my names does not appear as the official name on the account, but I have it on my checks and on other financial instruments I use. I have deposited hundreds, perhaps thousands, of checks in that name with no problem. Once before I had a deposited check returned, went into a different branch, explained the problem to a teller, who deposited it without any problem.

Yesterday I had a deposited check returned for the same problem, and went into the Suffern branch. The teller would not deposit it without the approval of someone higher up the chain of command, but was reasonably polite, even trying to be helpful. The first fellow from behind a desk was not particularly polite, and certainly not helpful. He bounced the issue up to the manager, who was downright nasty. I have never been treated as a criminal in a bank before, but this fellow pretty blatantly and rudely charged that I was trying to pass a check made out to some other person (who just happens to share my last name - that this person's first name also appears on my check he attributed to my chicanery, since one can personalize a check any way he wants). I was shocked at the treatment. It was incredible. I walked out embarrassed and shamed. I strongly recommend staying away from these horrible people.

I prey to God that nobody ever has to experience the abuse that I am going threw at this citibank . The unprofessional, inconsiderate, miscommunication that this bank provides to its customers is highly indiscribleable. I would not recommend anybody go to this bank if it was the last bank on the earth. If this is what the world looks forward to in banking then our world is in serious danger...

Since they took over the branch in Sebastopol the customer service at this branch has taken a serious nose dive.  The manager, in place since last fall is a complete incompetent.  THEY have decided to close my account because I insisted that they help me with an emergent situation - between them and the people on the phone in customer service the situation grew out of hand frustrating. In 20 years I've had an impeccable customer record.  Now they are giving me 3 days to find another banking option and deal with all my vendors and direct depositors because I hurt someone's feelings.  Not to mention Michelle's uncermonious and inappropriate conversation with my employee last Friday.  Stay far away from this branch - if you must bank at Citibank find another.  I'm going to Redwood Credit Union myself - I've had it with these mega-banks.

I was greeted by the front desk personal, nicely and been sled for an accistence. The lady directed me to the banker and asked me to wait, after waiting 30 min., the banker called me. He just asked me what he can do for me?! I just star expelling him my situation, then between the conversation the customer with whom he was talking early got back to his  desk. They star the conversation, and had it non stop, and than the banker told me, you know what, can you go back to the front desk, they should be able to help you!  Is it a customer service?!? A didn't even finished a one sentence, he didn't know what my situation is?!? And after waiting 30 minutes, hi is sanding my back?! I just left the bank! I don't want to be their customer no more!

On 7/14/12, I went to Citi Bank's El Cerrito branch (280 El Cerrito Plaza at El Cerrito, CA) and questioned about my checking account's promotion offer. The promotion offer promised to pay $125 cash bonus or 20000 points when I open a new checking account with Citi Bank. The requirements are: 1). open account before 3/31/12
2). one direct deposit and one online payment within 45 days and for two consecutive months. So on 03/17/12, I opened an checking account at Citi Bank's El Cerrito branch (280 El Cerrito Plaza at El Cerrito, CA). To be qualified for the $125 cash bonus or 20000 points, I had at least one direct deposit and one online bill payment for more than two consecutive months. But today (7/14/12), I visited Citi Bank's El Cerrito branch (280 El Cerrito Plaza at El Cerrito, CA). I was serviced by a customer service rep., Mr. Paul Sung. He told me that I was not qualified for the promotion offer because my online payments of April were labelled as 'Transfer' but not 'Payment'. I had no idea the operations of Citi Bank for labeling/categorizing transactions. In April, I did make some online payments to my credit card's bill. Somehow, those online payments were appeared as 'Transfer'. I assumed that happening is because of my using Citibank's checking account paid my Citicard's bill. I noticed my online payments of March were labeled as 'Payment' when I paid other credit cards' bills.  I have never been told that I couldn't use my Citibank checking account to pay my Citicard's bills. My Citicard and checking account are linked. I have no ideas why it's been labelled as 'Transfer' when my Citibank checking paid my Citicard's bill. Paul Sung kept saying that he could not help me because I wasn't following the rules. I wanted to record how aggressive he was speaking to me. So I requested to record our conversation, but he refused. And then I requested to see his manager. He slammed some documents on his desk in front of me.  What type of service is it?  Choosing a friendly branch to service your banking is very important.

I went in to make a deposit recently and received very poor customer service from the people who work here. First of all, there was a line of people and only one teller window open. Two other tellers were just sitting there chatting (obviously not busy) with the "next available window" sign up. When I was next in line, an older man who walked in after me and was still signing his checks at the table decided that he was going to be next. When I tried to walk up to the window, the teller gestured to me that the old man was next and made me feel like an idiot. As I waited, it became clear that she knew him personally and was giving him favoritism. Because of this I had to wait another 5 minutes and almost walked out. After I let out a few sighs, looked at my watch several times, and glared at the other tellers, one of them finally opened another window for me.

I have had a few problems with Citibank in the past and have known several people who have left Citibank for similar reasons. Citibank of Saratoga, you have just lost another customer to Wells Fargo.

I've been a customer of this branch since it was CalFed instead of Citi... those were other times and the service was great.
Yesterday I wanted to make an automatic deposit using the ATM (it was almost 7:30PM) and when I put the money, I received a ticket telling me that 'Due to a technical problem, we are unable to process you deposit or return your cash'.
Next morning I went to the branch and the teller said 'Oh... that was rude!!!'. I was asked about the details, and I said that I was trying to deposit $80 cash and the previous balance was $30, so the total must be $110. She said that the transaction was already for $20 and she only credited me with $60. I disagreed and I asked her to check the balance previous to that transaction (same since 6/18) and she said she cannot do that, so that left me with $20 less in my account. I left the bank realizing that I was in the wrong place and I called customer support (over the phone). There, Joseph listened to me, he understood what the problem was, he checked the balance without me asking him to do so and after a couple of minutes he credited me with the right amount. He also was able to tell me what a week old $35 fee was about, which was something I wanted to know and no one in the branch was able to tell me.
Something similar happened to me some years ao when I deposited a check and the teller misread the amount by $100. I was fighting against the bank for over ten days and finally they 'waived' me the difference!!!!!

The bank reps are unresponsive. My account has been closed twice with claims that my phone number didn't work and they couldn't reach me!! How they've survived as one of US's largest banks is beyond me.

And try finding a phone number for a local branch online! You won't be able to! All numbers lead you back to their corporate office so you can only physically go into the branch!!!

The worst experience ever at that branch. I opened a CitiGold account in the CitiBank at Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, CA about 2 months ago with $100.000 deposit, and they promised me that I will get "as an incentive" 40,000 ThanksYuo points and a check book in less than a month, and after not receiving the ThankYou points nor the checkbooks I started making phone calls to find out what was the problem, I called them 18 times in a 3 weeks period and they never answer or returned my calls, I called others citibank representatives more than 7 times and they won't give me a clear answer, I even went to the Piedmont branch in Oakalnd California to complain and both times the bankers told me that the manager was going to take care of the problem that Mr. John Oushana created, but nothing, I haven't received a call from them and I will cancel my accounts ASAP.

I sat wth a customer service rep regarding a notification I received from Citibank stating that my account would be closed within 10 business days from the date of the letter.  It turns out there was something left undone from a previous bank I was using.  I immediately had the issue straightened out with the old bank and brought a certified letter to this effect from the old bank to this Citibank branch at 6th & 23rd.  The customer service rep was useless and unable to help and told me that the
Assist Branch Mgr would call me the very next morning.  (this rep KEPT my Citibank letter and the certified letter from the old bank and wrote my contact numbers on it.) I never got the call the next morning.  I called that afternoon and was told that the rep was out to lunch and I would have to wait until she got back before they could do anything so they could get my documents from her, etc..  I'm sure you can guess - I recieved no call back for the second time.  So I rush out of work early so I can get to the branch before they close at 6p, and these reps have all gone home.  I explained the situation to another Customer Service Rep that happened to still be there (this was a Friday afternon)and he went in the back to talk to the Assist Branch Mgr (the one who was supposed to have contacted me...TWICE, but didn't)  He comes back and says this Assist Branch Mgr is comepltely aware of my situation, but she will not be able to help me until the following Monday.  Meanwhile I have 2 business days left before my account is supposed to be shut down.  I have direct deposits, automatic payments, etc.. that I need to take care of if the account is going to be closed!!  And these people have the nerve to leave me uncontacted all of this time??  I might have understood that they needed more time if only they had enought courtesy to call me and tell me what was going on while I am sitting on pins and needles praying that my account will not close within the 10 business days that their letter stated it would close in. So what could I do??  Lastly, I ask the Rep for my documents back (it was highly unusual & unprofessional for them to keep these in the first place)  I said, please make a copy of these for yourselves so I can get my original certified letters back.  The Rep comes back and says they can't find them!!  But I am supposed to believe that these incompetents are on top of my situation when they can't even find my documents!!!!! And that Assist Branch Manager has the NERVE to keep sending this poor Cust Serv Rep back out to tell me all this without coming out to talk to me face to face!!  These people have no right holding these positions.  I would have been fired from my job for less.  Stay away from this branch and the Assist Branch Manager at this bank!!!

In general, service is always bad here.

One time I forgot my ID and asked for an exception so I could make my deposit and not have to drive all the way back home.

The guy says "You have to have an ID ... I don't know you."

Don't know me?  I've been going to this bank for over a year, and I've received service/chatted with this guy multiple, multiple times.

At what point do I become a valued customer that you can remember my face, let along my name?

Drive-through service is severely lacking as well -- they're obviously under-staffed.

This place has been sketchy from the beginning.

Olga in steinway, NY 11103 branch helped me to open the citi bank account package, she said I can get 20,000 ThankYou Points, within 45days if I set up direct deposit and one bill payment. After 45days, I inquired my reward status to citi customer service through online client service. Citibank Online Client Services, kindly answered my inquiry, and very surprisingly, my checking account was not set up for 20,000 thank you point, she was unable to locate the promotional code on my checking. And then I visited the Steinway branch to clarify this matter, because Olga who opened my account wanted me to come over the branch. When I visit the office, Olga kept saying that if this is about credit card, I said no several times and explained that you open this checking for me but she did not listen. She was too busy talking with other client. So the other banker named Louis looked on my account, he said he will call me back after he investigates on this matter. It happened last Saturday and still no contact from them. I am very disappointed by the way you treat your client, I just wanted to make sure that my checking is ¡°THE CITIBANK ACCOUNT PACKAGE¡±, and found out that no one care about my account. Therefore, I am closing my account with CITI. I would not do any business with your company again. This is very disappointing.

I'm done with big banking. The last of MANY straws? I deposited just under $10,000, the ATM tells me $2,800 is released, but when I use my card the vendors say "Insufficient Funds." When I call the bank they tell me that it SHOULD clear but the amount that it says SHOULD be released is automated and since it is NOT released, we'll just have to wait. My wife has been a member for over 20 years. We have seen fees skyrocket (It is now $10 for every out of network ATM use, PLUS $15 a month to do so) while the service and product value has dropped to an all time low. (I don't blame the slave wagers behind the counter; they serve as best they can with what they are given and the scandalous rules they are provided.) I am giving up on "banks" and going with my local credit union where I've had my savings and they still treat me fairly. Bye, Citibank. Have fun with BofA and WellsFargo. Maybe you can get them to pay your retarded fees, because I'm not your whipping boy any longer.
