This review is specifically for the Schaumburg branch, as the Des Plaines branch is wonderful! The Front desk woman who told me her name is Sheru was very rude to me and had awful customer service. She was not helpful to me whatsoever. I've been a loyal customer for years. Very distasteful. I'm surprised as I've been banking with this organization since they were names North Community Bank. Please train your employees!

Nothing but problems with this bank since day one.

Day one I opened the account and choose a set of their free single copy checks.  Well I received the duplicate checks instead and was charged $25 for them. It was a hassle, but got that money refund.  

Let's see then I got married and I tried 3 times to change my name on the account, because every time they wanted something else.  Guess what?  Still has my maiden name on the account.

Then I moved.  Once again ran into issues.  My drivers license has my married name on it.  So we can't change your address, wrong person.

Trying to close this account now.  While in the process of doing this, one of my direct withdraws went through that shouldn't have.  I have been talking with them to get this fixed. Finally got that taken care of. Now to see if I can get $200 in overdraft fees to be reversed or at least some of that. So I called their main customer service number and they told me that I have to call the individual branch.  Okay...I find that odd, but fine.  I call and talk to a manager at the Hickory Hills location.  She was unbelievably rude. Told me that I shouldn't have let my account be overdrawn.  Well duh, but did you miss the part that the one company took money from my account when they weren't authorized too? Not really my fault there. Besides then I have never over-drafted on that account. Then tells me that I should go after the company that took the money out to refund me the money.  Oh yeah, cause they will do that no problem right?  Then proceeds to tell me that I am still -$15 and that I need to put money in my account before I receive additional overdraft fees and to have a good day.  Bye.  

I am sooo glad I am done with this sad excuse for a bank. Please save yourself the many headaches, go bank with tcf...they are at least ran by slightly smarter monkeys

I travel a lot for work and thought it would be ok to have a local bank instead of one of the big guys, but I have been consistently disappointed.  First, their banking card did now work in several countries I visited and I found myself with no cash and they had no easy way to get me any money.  Then this week I tried twice to get online to transfer funds from savings to checking to cover checks and the site was down both times.  I logged on today from overseas to see they charged me fees and returned my checks and this with over 20K in my savings.  I am so angry and will certainly be looking for a new bank!
