I have been with this bank since before it was "Tri-counties" it was North Valley Bank. I have seen the level of service decline from perfect service and what you would hope a bank to be to a point where is it like pulling teeth to even go into the bank. The people in the bank are hit or miss on politeness and respectfulness. Some are great and others...you wonder how they even got the job to begin with. You can no longer just go into a bank and have your issues resolved, you have to have them call a customer help line for you so that the other team can give you a run around, but it is "not their fault and they are sorry that you are experiencing issues. YOU must have done something wrong." Recently I have had bank staff be so rude to the point that they should have been fired on the spot, in person and on the phone. The standards for customer service from this bank have fallen to a point of criminality. While the app has made the use and management of your account easier, it seems to have made the staff lazier as "Well, you can do that on the app yourself!" being said in a snobby voice is commonplace. Questions are usually answered by the phrase "The person that usually handles that is not in right now." I used to have complete faith in this bank, but now I have to check the account every day to ensure that nothing is being mismanaged. Several times I have had to have my account number changed and new cards issued because of errors on their end. I am trying to be polite about my experiences and the only thing positive I can think of at the moment is that the wait times are still usually pretty short at most locations. The professionalism and customer service are, however, very lacking. During covid, my wife was pregnant, and we had to escape from thew wildfires plaguing northern CA. I know times were rough for everyone, but the actual lack of compassion we felt while trying to get our finances in order and to live while displaced from our home was torture. I hope that the service is returned to above expectations, but for now at least I would suggest staying far away from this bank.

We have banked at Tri-Counties Bank for years.  We went in the Branch on California Avenue and had the misfortune of dealing with Brenda Michael the Assistant Branch Manager.  Not only was she very rude but gave us incorrect information as well.  We have decided to close our accounts there and move to another bank completely!

Friendly staff, however loan officers 'mislead you'. (using that term loosely) It wasn't until after I signed the contract, I noticed the loan was changed from 20 years to a  10 year loan with a balloon payment of $100,000.00 at the end of 10 years, and I was told sign here and here, it is everything we discussed.  When it truth it was not.  At this time I cannot refinance as the back charges fees for early payoff of loan.

We opened our accounts in May 2011 after moving to Chicl.  In November we deposited a check for $1500. A web check the next day showed the deposit as $15. I called and was told the deposit would be corrected immediately. Apparently because of he conflicting $15 and $1500 informaton sent by Tri Counties the original check was returned and and fees totaling $40 were applied to my account. After seveal telephone calls $10 was reversed. My email inquiry to the Branch Manager never received a reply. I would expect this from our previous national bank but not from a regional bank. Suggest you look at Rabobank reviews.
