AVOID this bank!!!! They are thieves! I will NEVER do business with Regions again! I deposited a $1000 check in my landlord's account. When I checked my account the next day, there was an $1800 debit. I sent my husband to Regions with a printed copy of the check where it is clearly written "one thousand" to get our money back. First, the teller said there was no acct holder with the name of the landlord. He had the deposit receipt with him and told her this is the acct. After about 15 mins, she finds the acct and says he would have to see a manager to get it corrected. The manager then tells him that the bank would have to call the landlord to make sure the amount was really supposed to only be $1000 and not $1800. First of all, who the hell cares what the landlord says it "supposed" to be?! The deposit should be made for the amount the check is written for! But he called the landlord and of course landlord confirms only $1000. They debit the landlord's acct for the $800 and tell my husband it will take 24-48 hrs to go back into our acct. 36 hrs later its still not there. He goes back and the manager says he needs to go to our bank to have the problem fixed...our bank didn't make the mistake! The idiotic regions teller did, But he goes to our bank anyways and they report that Regions did not issue any refund that they can see, so our bank rep calls Regions customer service and explains everything that happened and the rep said the original time frame of 24-48 hrs was incorrect and it would take 3-5 business days. 7 business days later we still didn't have the $800 back. My husband goes back to Regions again and now they say they can't refund the money without having a conference call with the landlord who has nothing to do with it, and they had already debited his acct 7 days earlier. They didn't give us our money back even though it was the teller's mistake. They never apologized one time and thank God we use an amazing bank (AL Credit Union) bc they credited our acct with the $800 and is now pursuing Regions for the money so we don't have to deal with them. Regions tellers and employees are completely incompetent and that bank should be out out of business. I am calling the better business bureau tomorrow on those crooks!!! Save yourself the hassle and bank somewhere else.

I have never experienced the horrible treatment I received when I banked at Regions. Every teller was rude every single time I ever went in. (I work in customer service, and truly, nothing is more important to a business in my opinion.) Once, a teller walked out in-between two cars and wasn't looking and I slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting her. She in turn cursed me out in the parking lot, even after I sincerely  apologized! The branch manager the most rude to me; she would even close her window after I stood and waited 10 minutes in line. One day I asked her a question and she said I would have to wait until she was done eating lunch. (At 10 a.m.) The final straw was when I broke down and called the Regions 1-800# to see if they could help. I told the 1-800 lady the trouble I had been having with the rude  tellers and branch manager. She said, "Have you thought about sticking up for yourself? Maybe you should try that." I said, "That is the reason why I'm calling you!"  She responded, "Tell the branch manager this. Don't tell me."  I was astounded...totally floored. That was it. I went to withdraw all of my money from the bank the very next day. They said I would have to wait 30-45 minutes for 'the vault' to open!! One more time to stick it to me. I sat and waited the 30 damn minutes. I will never, ever recommend Regions to even my worst enemy. I feel so sorry for everyone who banks with them. There is absolutely no excuse for bad customer service, especially for someone who always comes inside to do their banking with a smile on their face. It still hurts my feelings when I think about how hateful they were.

I recently met with a VP in the Urbandale office of Regions Bank. I was told that I finally (after the whole bankruptcy process) was in a position with my credit to buy a house. My wife and I spent time with a realtor looking at houses, trying to find the perfect home. When we finally did that, this guy told us that he couldn't get my financing approved after all. First it was I had too much debt, so I worked that problem out. Then it was the loan to income ratio was too high. But, after including my annual bonuses, everything was good to go and I'd be meeting him that afternoon to get the approval letter. But wait, not even 10 minutes later, he sent my wife an email stating that he'd made a mistake reviewing my bankruptcy dates, and that I was not eligible for a loan for another month. Then he had a thought that he could push this thru if my bankruptcy was caused through no fault of my own. Well, since I had had a major surgery, and shortly after I found that my then wife had not paid any bills for months and our house was behind over $6000, thru NO FAULT OF MINE. But NOPE, this wasn't good enough for the powers that be at Regions, and ultimately I'm being told now, after a purchase agreement was signed, offer accepted and everything else being in-line that I have to wait till July. ONE MONTH! I will lose the house that I picked if it's not closed on by June 28, and may lose my earnest money all because this guy couldn't do his job adequately enough to make sure everything was truly in order before giving me the go ahead to find a house. While a month isn't and shouldn't be too much to bear, the mental and emotional roller coaster that this guy has had me on has drained me. How can someone have "Vice President" next to their name and be so clueless as to what their job ACTUALLY is? This is a ridiculous situation and I suggest you avoid using this company for anything! Think I'm alone in this? I challenge you to find one positive piece of feedback out there!

Watch your money, I have battled with them for years, filed with the Federal Reserve and the BBB only to have my complaint unsolved and closed. The old saying "Money talks and Bullsh_t walks" I am in the process of closing my accounts with them after 10 yrs, I'm tired of them making their own rules as they go along..It has taken me a while to do this because we have all our checks directly deposited, and we have automatic bill pay..I suggest to anyone who is looking to deal with this bank to turn around and RUN...THEY ARE HEARTLESS AND RIP-OFFS!!!
