2014 was a difficult year for me.  I spent the majority of my year in an outpatient treatment program for service connected health issues.  As I focused on recovery I closed my 401k and managed until recently to keep my finances and bills in order.

Just as I neared the brink of my financial limits my VA disability rating was increased and I received back pay accordingly based on my claim, diagnosis, and severity. This is a large amount of money.

The relief was instant and I deposited the check Saturday Jan 31 2015.  I checked later that evening online and saw that my deposit would be available next business day.  

Today, Feb 02 2015 my account says +(amount of check deposited the prior Saturday).  My available balance says -4.37 cents.  

Called the customer service line and explained what that Saturday it read available next business day.  Attempted to explain that my account shows the deposit added to my account and questioned why it doesn't reflect in my balance.

Shawn's tone and attitude was from the start was not customer service orientated.  He didn't talk with a smile, interrupted multiple times, and his explanation on the availability of my deposit was not appreciated.  He told me that the guidelines regarding the account were clearly explained to me when the account was opened.

I told Shawn I didn't care for his tone or his attitude and wanted to speak with someone else.  Shawn's response, "I'm sorry if my tone isn't what you expected.  I am a supervisor and there is no one else to talk to".

You would think that this must have been just the other day when Shawn and I sat down and opened my checking account together based on this response.  You would be wrong in thinking this.  My account was a transfer from an acquisition in he late 90's if I recall.

Shawn was more then happy to prove the mantra of every call center, service provider, or business dependent on customer relations to define their identity in a crowded market.  

It takes years to win a customer and only seconds to lose one.

I'm sure later this morning a competitor will call the Metro service line to thank Shawn for his poor attitude.  

Now I have to go put over four dollars in pennies into my checking account to avoid the 37 dollar penalty.

MADE DEPOSIT OF $1,000 ON 12/27/14, AS OF 12/29/14 ONLINE BANKING SHOWS PENDING DEPOSIT. CALLED EXETER LOCATION AND STORE TELLER ANSWERS SAYING OH I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO CALL YOU, THEN CONTINUES TO TELL ME HOW MY DEPOSIT OF 1,000.00 IS NOW 700.00.  I AM INCREDIBLY UPSET. I ASK TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER AT THIS POINT AS, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PHONE CALL AS IT RELATES TO MY ACCOUNT!!! I WAIT 20 MINS TO SPEAK WITH MELISSA AND THIS WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.  SHE OFFERED NO HELP AND SAID SHE COULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL TOMORROW END OF BUSINESS.  WHAT...SOMEONE STOLE MY MONEY...YOU CAN  OFFER NO HELP UNTIL END OF BUSINESS DAY TOMORROW....!  MANAGER MELISSA THEN HANGS UP ON ME.  HOW NICE...WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SVC!! I NOW MOVE ON TO METRO BANK'S 800 CUST. SVC. NO., THIS I ACTUALLY GET SOME KIND OF HELP.  I AM TRANSFERRED TO A KATIE IN SECURITY WHO WILL NEED TO REVIEW TAPES ETC.  HOWEVER, AFTER THE 2 HOUR WAIT AND ANXIETY OF ALL OF THIS...I AM NOW STILL NOT GIVEN MY ENTIRE DEPOSIT! THATS RIGHT FOLKS....THEY STILL NEED MORE TIME.  I HAVE BEEN A GOOD CUSTOMER...PUT A LOT OF MONEY IN THIS ACCOUNT. NOT BEEN A PROBLEM EVER!

WE PROTECT OUT EMPLOYEES WHO STEAL HERE AT METRO...IS THAT YOUR NEW MOTTO??????

I feel the need to post an experience that my father had in this Metro location today with an ASSISTANT Manager Kristine Cooker not sure if I spelled her name correctly but I really do not care if I didn’t. This woman treated my father like he was a bum off the street. My father keeps a pretty good amount of money in this bank just for the convenience of using the change machine. Today when he came into change some coin he was told by this person whom he never had any interaction with before that he was not allowed to use this machine anymore!!!! The sign says right there in the lobby that you must have a METRO account...... he does....... I think the problem here is that he changes in 50 cent pieces. Now are they saying that If you have an account and you have change you can use it but not if you have 50 cent pieces???? This woman did not smile and was very rude to my father, in the end actually called the police on him when he questioned this un posted policy she simply stated the the decision was already made!!!!! WHERE IS THE NOTIFICATION TO YOUR CUSTOMERS???? Kristine Cooker you should be ashamed….. what a terrible example of customer service. I am sure this is not over and there will be more to it before it is over, I should mention that we did call the 800 number to ask about this so called policy and they said that there should have been no reason what so ever that he couldn't use any machine at any metro bank location and there is no such policy.
