I have been with the Waxahachie Branch for years. They know me and I'm not one of their very wealthy depositers but they treat you like you are. Very personable. They get to you as quickly as possible but don't try to rush you out the door. They take time to make sure you are taken care of. I don't know where the negative reviews are coming from (maybe competing banks) :)  I had a little problem with a re-finance a few years ago but had nothing to do with the personel at this branch. And it was eventually taken care of. I would not want to bank anywhere else. Its got a real small hometown feel....kind,very professional without being 'stuffy'

I've had nothing but issues with a business bank account there. They want to always put holds on the checks (even tho I've been a customer for 2 years an never had a bounced or cancelled check). Everyone acts nice but no one seems to know what they are doing. They'll tell you one thing, an you'll call customer service an get told something different. I've opened a chase account to try them instead after being tired of the problems.

I had a terrible time with Washington Mutual Bank. They wouldn't give me a credit card for my business until we'd been in business for two full years. (It's an LLC for my rental property.)

I went to Compass Bank, walked in, and said, "I have $30,000 in accounts I'll transfer here if you give me a credit card for my business."  The manager said, "Done."  And it was.

I've been a happy customer of Compass for about eight years now. I've used four different branches in my travels, and all have exceeded any expectations I've had.  Banks have gone down the drain when it comes to customer service, but Compass has always been the opposite.  Their people remember my name, they answer any dumb question I have (and I've had many), and they're very knowledgeable about their business.  I've done a refi, I've had safe deposit boxes, I've done hundreds of deposits and withdrawals, and I've wired money. Never a problem with any transaction.

So, kudos to the staff at the branches in Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, and Englewood, Colorado, and also to the branch in Corona, California.
