I have been a Citibank customer for over 20+ years. I've had two mortgages and several refi's with Citibank recently as the rates have dropped so low.
Besides the restrictions coming to them from the underwriters I have found them to be patient and willing to work within my time frame because the appraiser had to come and I was under renovations. They've held the rate too.

We are in our 7th month of waiting for this bank and this branch to refi our existing mortgage with them. It was supposed to take 3 months, and we are now 7+ months. The service was so bad that we got the branch manager involved. Now there are 5 people that do not respond to our inquiries for service and status updates. We are 25+ year customers with this bank. The only part of the organization worse than the refi department is the mortgage guy and manager at this bank. Do not believe anything they tell you. They will not help you, respond to emails or follow through on their promises. Put your money under a mattress before you take it to this branch.

Speaking with their short sale dept. My client is the widow of borrower. Every day, they ask for new information and new authorizations. When they say they have everything, the next day the ADD more documentation.
Our government bailed them out. They have staff that could care less, or are poorly trained and told to delay delay delay This bank works like a third world country.
