I relocated from out of town and of course I have put in for my direct deposit at my job but get this it take two pay periods. what? so to my freaking surprise it only 1 freaking branch of Ameris Bank is in Downtown Atlanta, GA and it open Monday - Friday 9-4pm what kind of hours is that... Then the other Ameris Bank Branch is in Stockbridge GA but it only dose Mortgages and Loans really...Screwed. I swear I will be opening at another bank branch that more available in other areas. Don't go here....been with them forever and its crap

It's me again I hate this place wished I would have stayed where I was and could have done something I'm up here putting in applications after application and no progress hate it here though it would be better it's worse....

I hate AmerisBank and have had one problem after another. I am currently reviewing other banks so I can close account and go someplace else. It's always a mess. They don't want to loose customers, but they don't know how to do one thing to keep them. Not happy, loved Prosperity Bank, not this one.

Ameris is the worst bank in the US. They are theives (legally) and untrustworthy and dishonorable. Make sure anything that is said to you, is in writing. Ameris tells long term customers that they will renew their commercial loan and the papers will be ready to sign soon and anything you get in the mail you can ignore b/c it's generated by a computer. Then, they foreclose on the loan (especially if they can grab property.) Some customers never missed nor were they late on their previous loans. This is how they increase the banks earnings.I have seen this many times. If this bank buys your current bank, grab your savings & shop your commercial loan ASAP.

Ameris bought my wonderful, no-fee bank of 35 years, Atlantic Coast (AC). Auto-deposits transferred fine but I left Ameris for Colony Bank because of incompetence:
Strike 1: I couldn't access my checking account online. I had to verify two phone numbers that were never on file with AC. Ameris laid the blame on AC, citing that AC sent the fictitious numbers. Ameris tried to help but didn't know how. They used their computer to access my account, and their system would only recognize their IP address. That negated all my efforts of checking my account online. Ameris never attempted to contact IT for a solution.
Strike 2: During the acquisition, I was assigned the wrong type of Ameris account, which was supposed to be the same type of no-fee account I had had at AC. I disputed a $6 maintenance fee. It was refunded.
Strike 3 - You're Out: Ameris sent me four separate letters in one day stating that they were confirming my change of address. I had no change of address, and the four identical letters indicated my previous address, and my 'new' address, which was the same...and they wanted to oversee my money?
